Palash Muchhal’s cousin speaks out amid cheating claims and delay in wedding with Smriti Mandhana

Palash Muchhal’s cousin Neeti Tak has spoken up amid the rising speculation around the postponed wedding of Palash and cricketer Smriti Mandhana. The couple was set to marry on November 23, but the celebrations were put on hold after Smriti’s father suffered a sudden health emergency. While the families explained the situation clearly, rumours about Palash’s personal life began to dominate social media soon after.

One of the claims doing the rounds involves screenshots shared by an Instagram user named Mary D’Costa. She posted what she said were private chats with Palash on Reddit. The account has now disappeared, but the screenshots continue to circulate online, adding fuel to the ongoing conversation. These posts led many users to suggest that Palash may have cheated on Smriti, though none of the claims have been verified.

As the chatter intensified, Neeti Tak stepped forward to defend her cousin. In a short note on Instagram Stories, she asked people to stop drawing conclusions based on circulating posts. Her message read, “Palash is going through a critical condition today, you all should not judge Palash as wrong without knowing the truth.” She added that the speed of technology often misleads people, urging everyone to pray for him instead of reacting to unverified claims.

At present, Palash is admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. This comes days after his sister Palak confirmed the postponement of the wedding and requested privacy for both families. She wrote that the decision was taken only because of Smriti’s father’s health concerns.

On the morning of the wedding, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, reportedly showed symptoms similar to a heart attack and was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli. Doctors conducted tests and stabilised him, but the families immediately called off all functions.

Palash was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli the next day. His mother told Hindustan Times that he shares a close bond with Smriti’s father and broke down after hearing about his condition. She said he cried so much that he had to be kept under observation for four hours, though his reports later came back normal.

Meanwhile, Smriti has removed all wedding-related posts from her Instagram, which has raised fresh questions among fans. The couple has been together since 2019 and went public with their relationship only in July 2024.
