The Lost Story

Chapter 3

Maan was in his room, packing his things, "Maan," Dadi maa's voice made him turn around, "What's this new trip Maan, and how long will you be gone," Dadi maa asked Maan who was packing up, "Oh, Dadi maa, I am off to Mumbai, had to work on Minister's personal plant there and so I need to go there, in personal, to look after the works and he too wanted that only, and I don't know when it will be over" Maan explained as he kept his clothes inside the suitcase.

"Oh, really, is it that important that you go there in personal, or are you trying to get away from me," Dadi maa asked and Maan looked at her with a smile, "Dadi Maa, you know that I will never get away from you, you know that, it's the minister, he and his party had done so many favors to us, so had to respect his wish, right," Maan said and Dadi maa nodded,

"Maan where are you staying there," Dadi maa asked looking at him, "In his private guest house," Maan said and Dadi maa thought for a minute, "Maan, mind if I join you," she asked and Maan looked at her with a doubt, "are you doubting me still, I am not lying," Maan asked looking at her with a grin, "No, I was actually feeling alone, Sana too had gone to the hostel, and now if you too move away it will be so lonely, so just asked,"

"Dadi maa, it will an pleasure to take you with me, ok, wait, I will call Adi and get your tickets ready," Maan said and Dadi maa nodded, "I will get my things ready," she said and went away, Maan looked at her walking away, she was the best thing in his life, she stood by him without any questions, she believed him when he himself didn't believe him, she was so understanding, and also was very careful in not hurting him,

When Geet left him, Dadi maa didn't ask any reason, she did what he said without asking any question, nor did she ask or doubt him in Dev's murder, she believed him, when he carried Sana into this mansion and Dadi maa accepted her whole heartedly, Maan never thanked god for anything except for Dadi maa, and he decided to do anything for her happiness,

At the evening Jay parked his car in the parking lot and walked towards the door, and pressed the calling bell, "Geet," he called from outside and in few seconds Geet opened the door with a smile, Jay jumped in and laid on the sofa looking hell tired, Geet smiled looking at his state, "Jay go and get refreshed, now, I will bring you your drink," Geet said and Jay signed, "Please Geet, five minutes, let me relax, please." Jay pleaded,

"No way Jay, and for god sake remove your dirty shoe and sock, how many times I had to tell you don't come in with these things on," Geet said again with an anger tone, "Oh, Geet, please, stop it, I am tired," Jay said signing again, "That's why I am saying go and freshen up," Geet yelled, "Oh, Ok, Mummy ji," Jay said scowling on her, "always saying something" Jay said as he walked toward their shoes stand and removed his shoes and sock and kept there and came back.

Geet was standing there with an towel and he scowled again and got the towel and went inside the room, when he came Geet was in kitchen, "Geet, atleast now, can I get my drink," Jay called from the hall, and suddenly he heard a calling bell, "Now who," he said and went out, "Sir courier for Mrs.Geet," a courier boy stood there, "oh, wait a minute, Geet, courier for you," jay called out and Geet came from inside with an coffee mug,

She handed the coffee mug to Jay and got the letter, and the courier guy left with a smile, Geet dropped the cover on the couch and went inside kitchen, "hey, you are not gonna open it" Jay asked, and Geet didn't answer anything, Jay nodded his head and took the cover and looked at the letter and the attachments, "O My God," he screamed and rushed to the kitchen,

"Geet Congratulations, you got an job in Mumbai, that too to work with the Mumbai minister's team for his plant constructions, wow," Jay screamed as he rushed in with a letter, "so soon, and so good, I can't believe it, Geet, without interview, without any effort, you got the appointment order" Jay said as he gave the letter to Geet,

And Geet looked at him confused, "What" she got the letter and saw it was from Minister office and it was not an call letter but her appointment order, and it had an official seal too, she read the letter and the attachments, "Minister is constructing an big industrial plant and so he had hired an big construction firm for doing the work and minister wants to put in his personal team to help that construction company," Geet said to Jay,

"Luck you, it's some miracle," Jay said, Geet looked confused and looked at her job description, "Personal Secretary to construction company's owner," Geet said looking at Jay, "Personal Secretary, construction company," Geet said and all she could think of was Maan, her first job, her eyes filled up, "Maan," she said out loud and Jay understood her thought,

"Geet, don't be stupid ok, there are many construction companies in this country and also in abroad, and see your work place is in Mumbai, so why do you think but, look according to me, it's a best chance, to pull back into an new life, new place, new environment, new faces, give it a try, you will like it," Jay said and Geet looked at him tears rolling from her eyes,

"Geet," Jay went near her, and stood aside and put his arms around her shoulders, "trust me, this job will be an turning point for you, trust in your Baba ji Geet, now be brave," he said and pull the letter from Geet's hands, "O My God," he said and looked at the letter, "Geet your joining date is tomorrow, come on, let's go for some shopping, and get ready, I will call my office and say leave tomorrow, and will drop you tomorrow in Mumbai and then will come back," Jay said and without waiting for Geet's reply he went away,

"Geet get ready," he said and Geet took a deep breath and went inside her room, she can't think that she will be working for someone else, the word work, files, office, boss; everything reminded her of only one thing "Maan, Maan Singh Khurana" , she opened her draw and took out Maan's photo, "Maan, I miss you so much, I really do, please one chance to prove that I am innocent, one chance, Baba ji will you help me, please" she cried out,

It was 8.00 in the morning when Geet stood before an cottage given to the employees in this project and Jay was removing the luggage from the cab, Geet was still not sure, it is real, just two days before she decided to go for an job, and the next day she get an appointment order and now she is going to the job, it's not even possible in dreams she thought, but here she is, may it a prank by someone, Geet thought,

"Geet, looks like someone is already there, see, the door is opened," Jay said and Geet saw that and nodded and went inside, "Hello, anybody home," Jay asked as he stepped in with Geet's bag followed by Geet, "One minute," they heard an voice, an female voice, and after a few seconds, a lean girl with long hair rushed out of an room, "Hi," she said with a big smile,

"Hi," Jay and Geet replied, "Mrs.Geet, right," she asked and Geet nodded, "Hi I am Nandhini, Finance team, and the manager Mr. Arnav Came and said that I am suppose to share my room with Mrs.Geet, Boss's Secretary, and I was expecting you," she said with a big smile without a gap, and she reminded of someone to Geet,

"Oh, I am stupid, Come in, why are you standing there," she said and she turned to Geet, "I took that room," she pointed to the room on left side, "if you need that room, I can change it," she said, "it's ok, you can have it," Geet said, "Thank you, and then that's your room," Nandhini said and turned to Jay, "You can keep those bags in your wife's room now, no need for holding it this long," Nandhini said and Jay looked at her and Geet,

"Ok Madam," he said and scorned at Geet, who was suppressing her laughter and went inside the room, "Nandhini, excuse me," Geet said and went to her room, where Jay was keeping her bag in the cupboard, "wow, nice girl you got here Geet, you will never feel bored" Jay said and nodded up, and came towards Geet, "ok Geet, take care, Look, if you feel any discomfort come back without giving a second thought, don't push yourself, so hard, ok," he said holding Geet face,

"Jay are you going to cry," Geet asked with a grin and Jay laughed out, "no, no way, Jay and crying no, and you too no crying ah, I will come whenever I find time, call me if you need anything ok," Jay said, "I will leave now," He said and went towards the door, he was feeling worried to leave her alone like this, he was feeling so heavy and uncomfortable,

"Jay," Geet voice made him to turn around, "Take care and don't mess up the house," Geet said and Jay rushed back to her and gave a quick hug, "Gonna miss you Mummy girl, take care, ok," Jay said and pulled himself from her and rushed out, "Hey," Nandhini shouted from behind but Jay was long gone, "What happened to him, rushed out like a storm," Nandhini said as she came inside Geet's room with a tea tray,

"Nothing, he had some urgent work," Geet said, "or he is upset to leave you alone," Nandhini said and Geet smiled up, "Ok, Get ready, let go to our office, I am so thrilled, it's my first job, god," Nandhini said and went away,

Maan and Dadi Maa stepped out of the car and entered into the private Guest house of the Minister which was quite a big for an guest house, "Sir, I am Rahul, Caretaker here," a guy in servant uniform said, "Sir, let me take you to your room sir," he said and moved forward and Maan and Dadi maa went and he showed them their room, "Dadi maa, you take rest, I will get ready and start my work," Maan said and Dadi maa nodded,
