Chapter 4
Maan entered the bathroom to find Geet throwing up all the food she just ate. She was holding on to the bathroom sink for support when she felt Maan's hand rubbing her back. She washed her mouth and face with cold water after she was done. She was feeling dizzy so Maan picked her up and carried her to the nearest bedroom. He placed her carefully on the bed and sat next to her with his hand on her. "Feeling better now?" asked Maan worriedly. Geet nodded her head with her eyes closed. She opened her eyes when she heard a soft "mama."
Daadi came in the room with the kids. She passed Aryan to Maan, while Veer and Yash climbed the bed slowly. "Are you sick, mama?" asked Yash softly.
"I'm fine, sweetheart!" Geet replied back sweetly.
"Are you sure? We can give you a head massage." Veer offered cheerfully.
"Yeah, keep your head here and I will massage it." Yash quickly offered his lap before Veer could.
Maan could see another fight coming so he quickly cleared his throat and said, "I think, your mother feeling better now and you guys should save that head massage for later." They turned to Geet for her answer and she nodded her head, agreeing with Maan. "And how about you guys go out and watch some TV with Daadi?" Maan further added.
"Are you gonna stay here and take care of mama?" Inquired the kids.
"Yes, I will." Maan replied and the kids nodded their head understandingly.
"Mama ke chamche." He muttered it under his breath. And Geet smiled at him.
Daadi cupped Geet's face and kissed her head, telling her to feel better. Veer and Yash also kissed her cheeks. Maan brought Aryan closer to Geet so he could also give his mother a kiss. Then Maan passed Aryan to Daadi, but she winked at him first, and then took Aryan and left the room with the other kids. Maan looked at her weirdly but soon he kind of got the hidden meaning behind that wink.
After sitting there silently for couple minutes, Maan decided to speak up.
"Geet!"
"Ji?"
"Ahem, I don't know if you noticed or not," he took a pause.
"What?"
"Errm...You know" he scratched the back of his head.
"No, I don't know"
"Woh...I think, you know..you could be pregnant again!"
"What? No!" was her reply at first, but when she looked at the calendar, she was shocked. She looked at Maan and then back at the calendar. She did this a couple of times, her expressions changing every time she looked back at Maan. Maan was trying hard not to laugh at her, she looked too cute and funny. When she was done looking back and forth, she blurted out, "Maan, yeh kya kiya apne?"
"Ma...Ma'Maine? What did I do?" Maan was already getting scared of his hormonal wife.
"Don't try to act smart, you know what you did."
"Sorry to say, Jaan, but it takes two to tango." He was trying to lighten up her mood.
"Acha?" She smiled and threw a pillow at him.
Maan got up and gave her a hug and then sat next to her. "Are we going to tell the kids?" he asked excitedly
"Not now. First, we need to confirm it with a doctor." Geet informed him.
"Okay! But let me go get you some juice first," he got up, placed a kiss on her head and left the room to get some juice for Geet.
"Welcome to the family, baby!" Geet said, placing her hand on her tummy.
