Chapter 8
Geet was in her room, trying hard to sleep and take some rest. She was able to sleep for an hour but she was woken up by the same restless feeling again. She was staring at the walls, when the door to her room was opened, and a small figure walked in slowly. She looked at the slightly opened door and smiled. Aryan was trying his best not to disturb his mother, so he was watching his steps just to make sure he was walking slowly and at the same time he had his finger on his lips. He finally looked up, when he was successfully inside the room without making any noise. When he saw Geet awake and smiling at him, he smiled back at her with one of his cutest smile.
"Mommy, not sleeping?" He said, walking to the bed.
"No, mommy is not sleeping!" and she helped him up on the bed.
Daadi also walked into the room, out of breath, "Sorry beta, I couldn't keep him for long." Said Daadi after catching her breath, "the mama's boy wanted his mommy, so he made me chase him around the house and then he sneaked into your room."
"Thanks, Daadi! I will take care of him now, you should go and take some rest too."
"Okay beta! Take care." Daadi said, and pinched Aryan's nose softly, making him giggle.
"Badmash! Daadi ko aise thang karte hai?" Geet said and started tickling him.
"Sorry. Sorry." He was laughing loudly and trying to push Geet's hands away.
She stopped tickling him and enquired, "Okay, did you drink your milk?"
"No," he replied, shaking his head from left to right.
"No? And may I ask why not?" she asked with a serious face.
"Milk is yucky." He said making faces.
"Is it? Then what would you like to have, Mr Aryan Singh Khurana?"
He looked at Geet and replied with a smile, "Chocolate"
"Oh great! Let's call daddy and tell him how Aryan thinks Milk is yucky and chocolate is yummy." She said and picked up the phone.
"Daddy no, pwease!" he said immediately and hugged Geet.
"Okay but you have to drink your milk." And with that she took him downstairs and gave him the milk. He did make faces but in the end, he drank the whole thing. After that she let him play with his toys.
After some time, she called Maan to remind him to pick up the kids on time. Maan assured her that he remember about them and that he has already wrapped up the work to go and pick them up.
Despite leaving office early, Maan reached school a little late because of the heavy traffic. When he got there, he saw Yash coming out of school alone. He came out of the car and looked around to spot Veer but he was nowhere to be found.
"Hi Dad!" Yash greeted Maan.
"Hey champ!" he said ruffling his hair and looking around for Veer once again. "Where is your brother? Is he still inside?" he finally questioned, when he couldn't locate him around.
"No, he is not inside. He came out before me." He also started looking around for his brother.
Maan got tensed. He went to ask the security guard, if he has seen Veer anywhere but the reply came in negative. He asked Yash not to move from his place, while he went inside to check. He checked each and every classroom but still no Veer. He was starting to panic now. He rushed back outside and saw Yash coming toward him with a book.
"Dad, I found Veer's book, he was reading it today." He passed the book to Maan, "I found it outside, by the gate."
Maan knew something bad has happened to his son. He was worried for his son's safety. And he was furious at the school's security. How can his son just disappear from school? He would have handled them but right now his first priority was his son. And plus he didn't know what he was going to say to Geet.
