Just asking why would anybody from Mumbai will go to Kolkata airport when Mumbai itself has a famous airport? Or did that taxiwala ask this question just to make an attempt to ask her if she is fine. Ha ha ye kuchh aur hi ho gaya.
And that bus scene. Idk why but travelling in buses, trains especially long journeys gives you a different feeling. Like Geet has at this moment. Having our own identity types. Faltu time. You just start looking on your own life. Geet is annoyed and maybe sad. I hope this escape will help her understanding some things or maybe she needs something else.
Stopping right here. Classic story writting style.
Really? As an outsider to Kolkata and Delhi, both seem like interesting places to live in. But that may be for just the reason that I'm not actually from there. New places usually seem better.
Why Geet would go to Kolkata first...it's open to interpretation but as mentioned earlier, Geet used to take train rides to Kolkata earlier in her life, during the happier times (that she had been reminiscing when thinking of Geet Handa vs. Geet Khurana). So while on the journey she's taking to focus on herself, maybe she wanted to find that connection to her old self, to feel that way again. Also, while researching ways to get to Darjeeling by bus, I found that most people advise going to Kolkata and then Darjeeling. I didn't want her on a flight and you'll see why later ;)
But I do think you're right - the question was a bit of an excuse for the taxi driver to express his concern and see if she's okay. And it's okay, we usually end up going off on a tangent in this thread 😆
I personally love travelling alone on long bus journeys but end up regretting my enthusiasm. It's daunting. So much time to yourself, so many different ways in which your thoughts can attack you. Being a part of other people's stories. And as you said,
having your own identity.
It was really nice to hear your thoughts. Thank you for taking the time to share. I'm Zarin, by the way. 😊 Shall we call you Ubiquitos or do you prefer something else?
