Geet is throwing herself into the throes of her business and career to escape her emotional pain - I'm assuming that's how their distances got ever more distant? From previous chapters it's been hinted that Maan is not all too keen on Geet Handa the businesswoman - and even more so now, as Geet clarifies to herself that this is now more important for her.

In most fanfics I've read a new chapter can stand alone in itself, if that makes sense. But with Gehraiyan, each current chapter holds a candle to the last, dropping hints and tips and references along the way. Me likey a lot.
