Yes and no. Of course, a bit of distance is needed right now. Part of the problem with wilting, decaying marriages are that you're still suffocated together at the end of the day. There needs to be breathing space. But Geet also needs to work on her own self, her own career. You know that feeling you get when everyone and everything is getting ahead in their lives and you help them and it's great and all but once they've driven away and you're standing at the door waving, you suddenly realise how far behind you are...it's a devastating feeling and I think it's similar to what Geet would be feeling right now.
As for Maan saying those bitter words...yes, they were cutting but he was justified to say it. It's understandable. How else would you feel? Don't we start to hate the things we once loved when they become stale burdens? And Geet understands that, I think. She may not have doubted that they were in love before but she can understand why someone else might. Did we not all have doubts on their love at some point of the story?
