Next day the preparations for the rooka ceremony were in full swing at the Handa house. The rest of the members from Hoshiyarpur were also to arrive soon. The whole house was buzzing with activity, decoration, shagun. Meera with her 4 year old son Rohan had also come early to help out in the preparations. Everybody was extremely happy.

All, except one. Geet's assistance was no longer required at KC, so she easily took the day's off, informing Adi about her absence. She tried to help in the ongoing preparations, to keep her mind off some things, but out of love, no one was allowing her to do any work and she was confined to her room, the one thing she wanted to avoid the most.

Coz whenever she was alone there was only one thought that came to her mind... the last night.. and last night was all about just one person..MAAN.. she had tried to be distant to him, but ended up getting closer instead..how it happened, she could not comprehend.

She may try to think otherwise, but she was highly affected by his closeness, by his touches. It was the first time she came so close to a guy. And that too Maan.. She had never intended to feel anything about him, but their Manali trip change so much between them. The way he protected her, risked his life for her, took care of her. For an independent girl like Geet, who was always used to taking care of herself, his acts did make a special place for him in her heart.

She knew it was brutal on her own self. She was being masochist in thinking about him in this way, but she couldn't help it. She was marrying Rahul and would never be with Maan, probably not even see him again now. The mere thought was making her heart shudder. She wanted to feel him near her for one last time, his securing warm hug, his tantalizing masculine scent mixed with rain water, all of which she had felt when in the woods with him. She, hopelessly in love as she was, closed her eyes, and for the last time replayed yesterday's dance in her mind, and started twirling in her room, in the same way as he was making her do yesterday. Goosebumps rose in all the parts of her body where he had touched her. She was dancing like "Bawari Piya Ki".."Baawari Maan Ki"...

She would have remained in her happy reverie till a long time, if the persistent ringing of her phone had not brought her back.

Realizing what she was doing, she first composed herself and picked up her phone. But amidst all her confusing thoughts, she did not notice that it was a private number from which she was getting a call and just picked it up. But what followed, she had never imagined..

She had received a phone call from a person who claimed to have kidnapped her nephew Rohan(Meera's son). They had also sent her an MMS clip of him to prove it. They had told her get them Techno Computer's project's finance, design and contractor files from KC within two hours, in exchange for the safety of her nephew. She told them to leave her nephew because she didn't have access to these confidential files. She was just doing the software installation in KC and had no authority to access these files. But they knew about her involvement in this project and also told her that they will give her exact instructions on how to obtain the files. She was warned not to tell anyone anything about it. Also they told her that they would have eyes on her the whole time in the office, so there was no chance of escape or trying any tricks.

For a whole minute after the call, Geet was completely numb with shock. But she had to take fast actions. Though she knew she would not find him, but she could not help searching for Rohan in the whole house, but she immediately got a message from those kidnappers stating that she should not waste her time in fruitless searches. This scared her more. They were keeping an eye on her in her house also.

Just then, Meera came to her. "Geet tune Rohan ko dekha kya? Badi deer se mujhe kahi dikha nhi, kahi koi shataini na kar rha ho."

Geet was stunned. She could not tell Meera about the kidnapping, since they were keeping watch on her in the house, and she could not let any harm come to Meera also. She would save Rohan at any cost, but she would have to do that alone only " Di woh Rohan na mere room me aaya tha to maine usse sula diya hai vahi par taki woh koi shaiani na kare. Aap pareshan nah on aur aaram se aapna kaam karein. Rohan ka khayal main bhut acche se rakhungi. Trust me di" Geet's eyes filled up at this last sentence, but she gulped down her emotions.

"I totally trust you Geet, itni senti kyun ho rhai hai. Balki m tankful to u ki tu uska dhayan rkh rhi hai, varna Rohan aajkal itna shaitan ho gaya hai ki mujhe koi kaam hi nhi karne deta" Meera winked at her and left.

Once Meera was gone Geet could not control her tears any longer "Di main aapko promise karti hun, main aapka Rohan sahi salamat aapke paas la dungi" She wiped away her tears and without letting anyone notice her leaving the house, she went to KC.

On her way to KC, Geet was trying to form a plan. This was the only time she would get to make one. She had to save Rohan, but she could also not betray KC's project secrets. She was sure it was some competitor of KC who was behind all this and if that person got hold of these files, he would use them to either blackmail Maan sir or harm KC and its reputation in some way. "Nahi, main Maan sir ke saath itna bada dhooka nahi kar sakti. Agar yeh files galat haatho me lag gayi to woh isse Maan sir ke khilaf use kar skte hain. Mujhe kuch aisa karna hoga ki unn kidnappers se main aapne Rohan ko bhi bachalu aur Khurana Constructions pe bhi koi aanch na aye. Babaji please mujhe raasta dikahao" she joined her hands in prayer.

She was sure that she was being stalked, even now she could sense that her vehicle was being followed. But once she reaches KC, no unauthorized person can easily enter the company premises and hence she will have some time. This was one opportunity that she could use. If she could tell Maan about everything, she was sure he would definitely find a way out of this situation.

So once she reached KC, she hurried towards Maan's cabin before anyone could notice her there. Just when she was about to enter Maan's cabin, she felt someone grabbing her shoulder. She was terrified, could they have followed her inside so soon. But how did they make it inside, and now they had seen her going to Maan's cabin, what if they did something to Rohan. She turned around to apologize, but..

"Geet, kya hua, tum itni ghabari hui kyu ho. Aur itni harbadaie hui Maan ke cabin me kyun jar hi ho. Woh abhi vahan nahi hai. Kuch hua hai kya?" It was Karan(the event planner).

"Ohh'Karan..tum" Geet took a sigh of relief.

"Geet, tumhe kya ho gaya hai. Kal bhi tum party khatam hone se phale hi achanak gayab ho gayi. Tumhe to pata bhi nahi hoga that the party was a big success. Aaj Maan ne khud mujhe bulake congratulate kiya and meri company se permanent contract kar liyia hai. I am so happy, but real credit to tumhe hi jata hai. Bina tumahari help ke it would not have been possible. Thanks Geet"

But Geet was not in a state to respond to him appropriately then. She was loosing on precious time, so she faked a smile for him "Thanks Karan, par main tumse baadme baat karti hun. Mujhe abhi ke abhi Maan sir se milna hai, kuch urgent kaam hai, kya tum mujhe bata sakte ho woh kahan hain."

"Haan, he is in a meeting with my company representative right now. Woh tumhe Conference Room 1 me mil jayenge. Bye Geet. Cya later" Karan smiled at her and left.

But before Geet could take even a single step towards the conference room, her cell beeped. It was a text message -- Stop wasting your own precious time in futile efforts. Get back to work and go to Aditya's cabin to tell him that the client has just now suggested some changes in the design and Maan wanted to discuss it with you urgently. That's why you came to office and wanted all the project related files. Go and if you love your nephew don't try any more tricks, remember, we always have eyes on you.

Feeling dejected at loosing her opportunity to tell Maan everything, with no other option left she headed towards Adi's cabin and did as she was instructed. Adi without asking even a single question or suspecting her intent, handed her all the files immediately. Geet was touched by the trust Adi was showing in her. Now Geet was more determined not to break it and she was already formulating a new plan in her mind.

She left from Adi's cabin and was conspicuously heading out, but on her way out she caught the sight of Maan in his cabin. At his sight, she could not control herself and stopped outside his cabin window. She remembered how he always protected her and helped her out in her troubles. And now she was forced to betray his trust, betray him. She may deny it in front of everyone else, but she care for him and could not see any trouble coming in his way. For an instant, she felt very lonely, afraid and weak. She wished he was there for her now also, to protect her, to take care of all her troubles. But then she gathered herself, this battle was for her alone and she had to win it at any cost. She would not let none of the two get hurt.

On exiting the building she received a new text msg 'You will find a man in grey shirt standing across the road. Hand over the files to him. Your nephew will reach ur home.

Geet was now completely sure that there was someone from inside KC who was working as this person's informer, since her each and every action was known to them.

But Geet had a plan in her mind. She texted back to the kidnapper -- No

As she had expected she immediately got a call " Lagta hai tumhe aapne bhanje se pyaar nahi hai. Mujhe aisi umeed nahi thi. Vahan tumahari behan to aapni pyaari behana ki shaadi ki taiyariyo me lagi hui hai, aur yahan uski behan uske bete ke matam ka pura intezam kr rhi ho."

"Nnaaahi.. mmera matlab hai ki main tumhe files dungi.. khud main tumhe yeh files dungi, par tab hi jab tum phale Rohan ko sahi salamat ghar puncha doge. Kya gurantee hai ki yeh files mil jaane ke baad bhi tum Rohan ko naa chodo" said Geet, trying to sound as confident as she could.

"Tumahare iss chote ladke ko rakhkar hum kya karenge. Yeh to srif tum tak aur unn files tak punchne ka ekk zaria tha. Iss bechare bacche ko to pata bhi nahi hai ki yeh kidnap bhi hua hai"

"To theek hai. Hum iss baat ko aise hi rehane dete hain. Yeh tumahari aur mere beech ki baat hai. Maine tumahara kaam kar diya hai. Woh saari file mere paas hai and main tumahare aadmi ke paas. Yahan se main kahi nahi bhag bhi nahi sakti. To woh aadmi mujhe tumahare paas le ayega, aur main tumhe yeh files de dungi. Rohan ka iss sab me aab koi kaam nahi hai. To usse ghar punchado isse phale kisi aur ko iss bare me pata chale. Jitne kaam logo ko isske bare me pata chale utna tumahare liyia hi accha hoga." she was less scared now to talk to him. She had sensed in his tone that he just had business interests and she was the most vulnerable person in KC he could get to, to obtain these files. He did not want to get involved in kidnapping case that's why he had probably kept Rohan sedated so that he doesn't know about being kidnapped.

There was a minutes silence on the other side. Geet was holding her breath. It was a chance she was taking, which if failed, she couldn't even think about the repercussions.

But after that minute, the only thing she heard was a click on the other side.

"Hello..helllooo.." Geet panicked, he just disconnected the call. What happened, why had he canceled the call, did she say something wrong, had he suspected anything, were her intuitions wrong. How could she do this. She should have just done as he told her to. What if he did something to Rohan. It was a private number, she couldn't even call back. In just 5 minutes, millions of worst case scenarios had come up in her mind. She was loosing all her hopes when suddenly a guy came behind her and said in a low voice.

"Mudna nahi aur thodi si bhi aawaz mat karna. Woh saamne jo white van dikh rhi hai, seedhe seehe chalo aur ussme baith jao. Aur yaad rakhna koi hoshiyari dikhai to mere paas gun hai"

Geet relieved and thanked her Babaji that they were following her plan. But first she had to confirm. She mustered all her courage and asked them.

"Phale mujhe yeh confirm karo ki Rohan ghar punch gaya hai. Tab hi main tumahare saath chalungi"

"Tumahara bhanja ghar punch chukka hai, aur tumaare kamre me soo rha hai, jaisa ki tumne aapni behan se kaha tha" he said.

"Par main kaise tumahari baat pe yakeen kar lun. Main phale ghar pe phone karke confirm karungi, phir hi tumahare saath chalungi"

He agreed to it, although warning her.

She called Meera.

"Geet, tu phone kyu kar rhi hai. Tu ghar me nahi hai kya?" Meera asked.

"Nahi di. Wooh na mujhe kuch matching accessories aur leni thi to main thodi deer ke liyia market aa gayi. Aap please mere kamre me jaake Rohan to sambhal lejia. Usse aapne paas hi sula lejiyia please di. Kyunki aapko to pata hai na agar woh uth gaya aur vahan koi nahi hua to woh roone lagega. If fact di, aap please aabhi uske paas jake bata dejia mujhe ki woh theek to hai na, mera matlab kahi who jaga to nahi. Sorry di, main aise usse akale chodke chali ayai" Geet was panicking a little.

"Shant ho ja Geet. Koi baat nahi tu chali gayi to. Main tere room me hi hun, aur Rohan soo rha hai yahan. Tu karle aaramse shopping, isse aab main sambhal lungi, par haan jada late mat karna"

At Meera's these words, it was like some life had returned to Geet's body. She ended the call and started moving towards the van. She was glad that Rohan was safe. Now she could concentrate at making KC safe. She was determined to save her Maan sir from any harm.
