hey it was a cute and sweet story... just a little note. i do understand the cousin marrying being father's sister or mother's brother tradition. it's mostly restricted to south of india and mughal empire (although their tradition was a bit different). people in the north rarely followed it and now it's a big no no...
anyways the point i wanted to make was that since maan is geet's father's sister's son he would have a different last name than geet. because maan's mother was married she would get a different family name.
for example if she was born a khurana, marrying, she would get a non-khurana last name because her husband would have come from a different family so maan's last name would have been different.
