The scene between Maan and Geet today, where she convinces him to break her fast.. I have never seen a more heartbreaking scene than this..💔..

She convinces him that just making her take a sip, will not forge any relationship between them.. for her to tell him that its plain gesture, and he need not attach any significance to it..

Her knowing that he does not want to be tied to her in anyway.. her expressions and the tears in her eyes, her simple acceptance..

and how the tears were mirrored in his, though for entirely different reasons.

Maan Singh Khurana's principles run deep, they are etched in his soul, carved in stone. He cannot perform meaningless actions or take in lightness someones expectations.

How it pained him to have to do it when his heart did not want to accede to their request. . when he wanted to be free from it, away from it.. his tears too tore at my heart.. his helplessness, frustration at being coerced into performing such intimate rituals with a stranger..

the two together in the same frame and crying- one wanting the other, and the other wanting away from it all. It was so tragic. so Sad.

And then when he goes to her room, and explains his side- i felt choked.😔

when he tells her that its she who remembers everything and thus her expectation that he make an effort are natural.., but for him its just a story he keeps hearing from people😭 ohmygod.. when he tells her hes failed to accept her despite all his efforts😭

His pain, and hers- as she sits there and hears her husband, her love , tell her that despite consciously trying he cannot bring himself to love or accept her...

This was the talk we wanted them to have.. for them to understand each other in their extraordinary situation..

Lord when she tells him his name was synonymous with her God.. I felt like bawling my eyes out...**holds back tears with quivering lips**

and then her promise- that painful beautiful promise she makes which we all had wanted from her-

her promise that she will not exercise her rights as a wife, or try to make him remember their past..

I don't have enough words for how beautifully this came about.

Their pain, their understanding , their words and then that promise.

At last when they show him turn back once before leaving , I had goosebumps on me. This is the Maan Geet we love, This is their love we adore.

I totally agree! It's ironic, I don't think they ever had such good communication when they were both in their right mind and married to each other. That was always one of the major problems in their relationship, which is what makes this even more touching. Even in such a situation, their love is maturing and evolving beyond what it was.

We have all been shouting to the heavens that Geet needed to show her deep inner-strength to Maan because that is what he originally fell in love with and thank god we saw that happen today. She basically embodied today, everything Maan loves about her, strength, the ability to smile even in hard times, understanding his situation and doing exactly the right thing for him and finally, just not being a gold-digger out for his money and status. Because she loves him, she is willing to give up her rights as his wife.

When he turned back and looked at her, with so much pain in his eyes, and she was straining to keep her courage and smile for him, it was just heartbreaking!

I also loved that the Teej track (finally!) came a full circle. It started with the two of them in the same position, with so much hope, seeing Maan look at Geet with "that look", and so much uncertainty, went from fun (nazar utharna, mast kalandar, hide and seek), to tragic (NT's meddlings and Maan's accusations) to suspenseful (has Geet gotten through to the clients?) to touching to just everything and ended back at her dressing table, with a heart-wrenching clarification and confrontation.

I can't wait to see how Geet acts from tomorrow in front of Maan!

I agree, I swear when they got married all those subtle gestures, the soft meaning words, the metaphors, all had simply vanished..

ninand .. need I say more?! Like you've said it all .. I was just nodding and smiling and agreeing to everything!

Samana: I know right .. I felt like making a post showing just how eventful and meaningful this Teej Day has been for Maaneet .. what started off with him admiring her unintentionally ... then with their nok jhoks in the wallet scene ... then him realizing she is driving him crazy ..then with their private moments in the dark where there's a slight attraction between them .. then with the celebrations along with some hurtful words again unintentionally hurled at her out of frustration .. doubts .. anger .. then with his alone time outside .. with her determination to break her fast at his hands .. and finally back to the dressing table .. where it all started .. where they have the most beautiful and most mature conversation ever since their conversation in their secret house at Rohtak .. when he comes back after earning a few rupees .. people are saying they haven't had a mature convo but they did during the bankruptcy track .. they really opened up to each other in that track .. the only time they didn't was during A'sar track where their characters were really messed around with .. glad it's back on track now ! :D

oh yess.. Zee.. trust you to remember that scene.. that rohtak scene was just as good.. the problem was this intricacy in their interaction was shown such few times and far in between.. such scenes seemed to be almost an oversight in the vastly meandering and going-nowhere plot..

another very intelligent scene was when he tells her that he wasnt affected by what people said about him not working, since those people came from a very narrowed and conservative stream of thought..

I would have loved if they did show some meaningful conversations between the two..

And I am quite sure of their talents cuz, this track is a very unique one. I dont think any other ML track in any show has been handled with such maturity and courage.. I am just bowled over by the CVs completely right now.. if you cant already make that out.❤️

Agreed...we had such poignant episode after ages... Both spoke their heats out...Understood each other's dilemma... And pain bound them both together..Brilliant,brilliant episode.. Dialogues were perfect and so were performances. I wanted to see this Maan and Geet...

Zee: That episode of the Rohtak track is my favourite episode of the show by far. I know it's not up there for many people but it was just perfect to me. I loved the humour, the pathos and the ultimate understanding they showed between the two. I was thinking of it too today but I was afraid people would get sick of my unhealthy obsession with that short track! I think I mention it at least once in each post I make. 😆

There too, Maan underestimated Geet's strength and she proved him wrong with her deep-rooted patience, and calm reaction to a difficult situation. It helped Maan see her as an equal in the relationship, as opposed to a burden or responsibility. It led him to see how much he needed her, and he became totally vulnerable and confessed his need for her, not just his love, but a need so great that without her, he is incomplete.

I actually think a similar thing happened today. Maan once again underestimated Geet's strength and she once again proved him wrong with her amazing grace and patience. Today's scene will see him develop a deep respect for her that she has failed to ignite so far and I love the idea.

I love that you linked these two scenes, because ultimately they were both about respect, Maan respecting Geet as more than a little girl who needs to be "kept happy" by him. She is really a woman of great courage and he got to catch a glimpse of that today. It will leave its mark, no doubt!

ADDED: ninand, I didn't see your reply to Zee before. I also loved Maan and Geet's last conversation before ML, when she is worried about his anger (frankly, I was too; I made an entire post about its inevitability!) but he completely bowled me over with his mature thought. I thought that was a beautiful way for the CVs to show Maan's character development, that is, learning to control his anger and think rationally, over the course of his journey with Geet.

Aaah, don't get me started on the Rohtak track, I won't ever stop!
