The scene:

"Nunchaku is like a snake - treat it well & it may not bite you, treat it bad & it will bite you. Either way you must always beware no matter how well you think you know it" - Soke Hausel

Are you wondering what is Nunchaku? Nunchaku is the weapon Maan used to give vent to his frustration and anger in yesterday's episode. Although it can be used to strike your opponent, it is primarily a self defence weapon and is used to block, grip and lock your opponent or his/her weapon. If you watch closely the manner in which Maan uses the weapon, it is in the self-defence mode.

Before he picks up the weapon, we see his silhouette and not his face, much like the enigma he is to Geet's family. The light then falls on him and we see him turn around and display himself. He warms up by puffing his chest. It appeared reminiscent of his entry into Beeji's house in all pomp and flair. As he takes his first position, one arm outstretched and the other bent over his head, he recollects Geet's words telling him that she will not accompany him as her maasi is hurt and needs her. The outstretched arm was the invitation he had extended to her to join him and the arm over his head with palm facing out as if to stop something was symbolic of his unwillingness to apologise to her family for his entry as Balwant Singh. He withdraws his arm and pulls back his arms when he recollects her words saying she is the daughter of the house and cannot turn away from her responsibility, as if to show his restraint inspite of not being too pleased with her decision. He then recollects his own words saying that if the fight is between the daughter in her and the wife in her, he will not let his wife lose. At this point he swings his arm forward and holds it like a sword. His swift move to purchase Beeji's mortgaged property is now hanging like a democles sword on that family. He then goes on through a series of defensive moves as Beeji's words keep ringing in his ears. The tension within him keeps building as he clenches his teeth in anger.

When he reaches the edge of his tolerance, he picks up the nunchaku hoping that it will achieve what his bare hands could not. He stretches it first across his arms to block the invisible blows he is getting from Beeji from her sharp tongue. He then swings it on either side, first slowly and then with greater speed as if to shield himself from the blows which are being rained on him from all sides repeatedly; the faster the blows fall, the swifter is his self defensive action. One can see the tension in his muscles as he does a somersault of his weapon before bringing it forward for yet another blocking move. Beeji's harsh words are really testing his patience and he is literally bending himself backwards much like the way he was bending the nunchaku to maintain his restraint. Finally failing to keep the control of his frustration and anger, he throws the weapon aside and it falls clanking to the side, mimicking the manner in which his defences are crumbling under the strain of the verbal lashes he was subjected to.

He then frees his limbs and jumps high to give a flying kick to his invisible opponent, showing that he is raring to go into the offensive mode as his defensive tactics were getting him nowhere. He then swings to his side and kicks two plastic bottles which were there. Significantly one bottle was white in colour, maybe representing Beeji who is relatively pure in comparison to her son who could be the brown bottle. Nevertheless both are plastic, their sense of pride governed by the artificiality of the world they exist in. At the impact of his kick the bottles come crashing down, showing that if he were to take the offensive route the two of them don't stand a chance.

At this point Geet enters and tries to calm him. His visible panting gives a clear indication of the extent of fury he was bottling within himself for the sake of his beloved. The tautness of the vein beating on his neck gives an insight into how stretched his patience is. For after all, as he voiced to his wife, the man hates to lose or bow down to anyone (except his beloved), but he is forced to keep a check on his heightened senses for the sake of the very same beloved. He would not want to lose her on any count, which she threatens he will, if he continues to punish himself in this manner. As always she manages to calm the animal in him when she rests her face against his sweaty chest, seeking as well as providing comfort to her man.

He gently disengages himself and wipes the manifestation of his fury in the form of beads of sweat. He contemplates the purpose for which he had come, acknowledging that his present tactics have failed and he needs to think of another approach to achieve his purpose. He then turns to her, his gaze visibly softened from the hard glare he had given his invisible opponents earlier.
He gently holds her cheek to reassure her that he will not do anything that would hurt them as a couple. He is hurt seeing the pain in her eyes and without uttering a word, he lets her know how much he cares for her by the mere batting of his eye lids. He then moves away letting her contemplate her own action.

They will no longer function as individual units but as a combined unit to attain their common goal of winning her family and returning home.

Thanks Deeps. yes, the choreography of his action sequence was as impeccable as his actions. they give us a string of trash episodes and then they give something like this and we forgive and forget their earlier actions.
