Earlier, I was simply lost watching Maan and Geet but after reading your Symbolism post I watched it again scene by scene and this episode simply touched my heart. Thanks a lot for making me to use both my brain & heart!!

Thanks Yashasvi. Yes, they do make us forgive them, dont' they with episodes like these? We get one with Maaneet and forget all their transgressions.

opti...since u make such beautiful analysis i can understand that u hv a great knowledge on these things...so i wanted to ask u one thing...

maan always removes his taveez wen doing tai-chi...not only on 3rd june but even before that wen he did tai-chi with fire after seeing photo of geet with dev...that day too he was not wearing his taveez...we all know what that taveez means...

can u plz analyse y maan removes it wenever doing tai-chi...does it hold any deeper meaning...

i ask this because i dont like to see maan widout the taveez...

Opti, your symbolism posts have always left me in awe of your analytical abilities. But this one stands out. I bet even the directors have to read your post to know what they have picturized.

Thanks. A very good observation regarding the missing Taveez during Maan's Tai-chi sessions. I can recall five Tai chi session which involves both Maan and Geet.

The first one was Kehna hai kya where Geet sees Maan doing the session, gets attracted to him but runs from there when he realised he is being watched.

Two, when she witnesses him taking out his anger by doing wood chi after hearing her pregnancy confession.

Three, when he does ice-chi, breaking two whole blocks of ice after he sells IP and Geet comes there and challenges him to take her back in his company.

Four, when he does fire chi after he comes to know Dev donated blood to him and

Five, when he does nunchaku-chi after getting blasted by Beeji.

As far as the Taveez is concerned although it was with him after he returned from HP, he never wore it till Geet gifted him after their confession in the wilderness. So the first two tai-chi sessions could not have had Maan wear it as both appeared before their confession. Coming to the other three sessions, yes, he seems to have removed it while doing his tai-chi sessions. Here is my explanation for it.

From a practical point of view, I think it may be not advisable for GC to be wearing it as it can keep moving around while he is doing his strenuous acts and poke his chest.

From the story point of view, Maan considers the Taveez as a sacred symbol of their love. His Tai-chi sessions are mostly done to give vent to his anger. I would think that Maan respects their relationship enough to keep something as sacred as the taveez out of the way of his anger. So he removes it while doing the sessions but puts it on later.

Thats a good explanation. Do you remember when the misunderstanding track came after Dev's arrest, during Maaneet confrontation in KC, while Maan man-handles Geet, the taveez gets entangles in Geet's hand and comes off, which she accidentally drops in the office which Maan picks up later. I mean to say that the taveez didnt stay around his neck when he lost his temper. (of course, this may be just coincidental since nothing like that happened during the begairat accusation).

Viji, I think in that scene what literally breaks him was the snapping of the Taveez. Till that time he tried to hold Geet back but when it snaps, he patience also snaps and he drags her out of there. Goes to show the importance he gave to the Taveez. It did not come off when he made the begairat accusation because Geet did not pull it off. But there are several scenes when Maan is not shown wearing the taveez which I think is an oversight rather than any conscious effort to convey anything.
