Last summer I joined a friend on her holiday to visit family in India. Because of the heat I left out jeans and opted to wear a smart cotton salwar suit for a dinner out instead.
Immediately I realised that I was getting weird looks from the other women there (my friend pretty much lives in T-shirts and combats so she was ok!😆) and the waiter snidely asked me if the menu was ok in English or if I needed it translated.
I was completely shocked at the attitude!
I told the waiter in Hindi that I'd manage. While he was still at the table I turned back to my friend and started talking to her in English, emphasising my Brit accent.
I think he got the point after that.😆

way to go girl!!! I loved that !!! And I just feel that if you are portraying an issue, then a proper response to that should also be highlighted..so the masses get the right message!!

Todays episode gives out all wrong messages. First of all I can say that none of the hotels in bombay or delhi will stop someone from attending their functions or enter their premises if we wear a traditional dress.

Now I have no idea about elite parties that happen in our country. But I don't think that people thinks like this. I have seen pictures of socialites who attend parties in salwars, saris and western dresses.

This kind of episodes give youngsters really wrong message. They will start to think to be the most happening you need to wear skimpy clothes. They showed the same thing during the party when Geet wore a sari. The second time was a bit too much.

I think cv's are just looking for drama. They don't realise the stupidity. Think about it. At the party everyone talked bad about Geet when she came in sari. Even Maan mentioned her dress. Then at the same party Naintara attended wearing a sari even though she is from the upmarket as they say. What does that mean?

U are right.....I stay in India...and have experienced this sort of behaviour...It happens...

People just try to show that they are classy and high...But I believe it is necessary to stick to what u believe is expected of you....

You maybe wearing the most gorgeous evening wear...but u need elegance to carry it off....

And to carry off a Indian Wear you need DOUBLE ELEGANCE!!! Geet scored!!!

😆

so true! But the CVs are also showing that higher class is ignoring or eradicating Indian traditions and adapting to western culture more rapidly nowadays! It is India and people are look very stylish wearing Indian clothes, but there's India is globalizing so rapidly that's it has begu to forget Indian values all together!
