u didn't understand what they were portraying did u??? lol What i got from this particular scene is that the CV's are tryin to point out that in some areas people are forgetting that they are indian.....and are forgettin the importance of their culture......please don't tell me that in india they don't make fun of a girl wearing indian clothes at a high society party.....because it happens....in real life when those who are wealthy fly too much in the air and think to high of themselves.....forget who they really are...

there are many Indian girls here that make fun of other indian girls because they don't wear shorts...or wear bathing suits.....they don't wear high society clothes meaning for example Hollister...Ambercrombie clothes....so they assume that the girl is middle class...

i have come across many girls here in America where despite being an indian, they don't know how to portray themselves....more disappointing is that i saw a couple of girls just last weeek coming to the mandir wearing extremely short shorts.....

if Indian girls and guys can forget what their culture is here in america and who they are here, it can happen anywhere. These days i have also heard that India is very fast forward...and some girls are even worse in Indian then here.....remember just heard it from many who have gone to India for vacation. Many say that Indian children in America are bound to lose their culture because they are American's but that is not tru....i was very well born in America but i have not forgotten my culture....may be an American born, but I am proud to be an Indian....i am proud of my culture. It alll goes from what sanscar parents give to their children. It is sad that people are forgetting what our culture is......it is the real real truth meri dost......welcome the 21st century dear 😆😳

Remember we think that way because we know that there is nothing wrong in wearing indian clothes at a five store hotel.......but not everyone thinks our way....

CV's showed nothing wrong in my opinion, because this is the harsh realities of our world. Btw awesome topic. 😳

Seriously, c'mon i mean isn't that our dress in Pakistan and India so why is there something wrong with wearing Salwar Kameez, i just don't get it. I don't know why everyone thinks that you can only be modern by wearing pants and shirts, why don't people just get to know the person and not their dressing sense.

eve -thanks for opening a thread on this!!
i was shocked when watching the epi??? i was wht do ppl wear in india then??? It was a beautiful salwar suit and Geet looked great.
I really wished Geet gave a piece of her mind to those losers!! IT was very much needed!
I was even irritated with Sasha making a big deal geet wearing a saree for a office party! Saree is a formal attire, it not like she wore something casual like t- shirt or something!

yep I think now I got what the CVs were trying to show....thanks yaar...

U are right.....I stay in India...and have experienced this sort of behaviour...It happens...

People just try to show that they are classy and high...But I believe it is necessary to stick to what u believe is expected of you....

You maybe wearing the most gorgeous evening wear...but u need elegance to carry it off....

And to carry off a Indian Wear you need DOUBLE ELEGANCE!!! Geet scored!!!

This actually happened to me!

I'm not Indian - born and brought up in England but my dad has a strong sense of tradition so I can speak perfect Punjabi and Hindi, and salwar suits were a permanent fixture in my childhood, and now my teenage life.
Last summer I joined a friend on her holiday to visit family in India. Because of the heat I left out jeans and opted to wear a smart cotton salwar suit for a dinner out instead.
Immediately I realised that I was getting weird looks from the other women there (my friend pretty much lives in T-shirts and combats so she was ok!😆) and the waiter snidely asked me if the menu was ok in English or if I needed it translated.
I was completely shocked at the attitude!
I told the waiter in Hindi that I'd manage. While he was still at the table I turned back to my friend and started talking to her in English, emphasising my Brit accent.
I think he got the point after that.😆

thanks for the response.....i do not wisht to offend you but i beg to differ on this aspect...i have lived, worked in India.and am doing so in the US.. lets talk about the instances when this has come up in this show...
1. Office....most of the ladies working in offices...especially in Delhi, wear salwaar kameez..its the standard.
2. Office Party....salwaar kameezs in a construction companys office party do not inspire fun, jest and jokes.
3. Opening of a five star restaurant...i have been to several wearing salwaar kameezs as well as westerns...it was not and should not be a problem...
My point here...i know in teenagers and glamor world...and snobbish shallow ppls world this is not done...but we are talking about real life situations here...and in all the three instances mentioned above...it is not down class, rather it is the most common thing here...if this was mean girls or gossip girls i can understand such portrayal...geet is a totally different ball game.
