You're so right.
Even out here in malaysia, when ladies/girls wear salvaar kameez there's no problem. I mean in this modern world every individual respects another's culture!
For God sake, salvaar kameez is Indian Tradition and Culture!
People in India infact give respect to ladies who are covered and tease those who are half naked.
I love this post.

let me tell u one thing boys came in support of that women and made those modern dressed girls shut up by using desi language
really these r happening now a days and so the cvs r showing these incidents and so i love to watch geet serial as its roots stick to reality

I agree Eveline ... I'm getting rather tired of the constant critism of Geet's clothes .... it's as if ppl in metros are the biggest snobs and look down upon Indian cloths ....
Quite irritating yaar ..... Take a walk CVs ... you will find Salwar-Kameez is the most popular dress amongst women in India !

I know what they showed was a bit exaggerated.
But those who wear salwars are looked down upon alteast in some parts. my aunt who lives in delhi learned that some college going students call people who wear salwars as LC (low class), jeans -MC and mini skirts -High class. that is reality

What was that???? So, girls wearing a punjabi suit are soooo..middle class???!!...you cannot enter a five star hotel wearing a salwaar kameez....where does this all come from ???

Wonder what those viewers who are based abroad and rarely visit this country...think about India now??? Sometimes the cvs should think twice before writing certain scenes....

And the way the manager or whatever was making fun and arguing with Geet.....😡..had hai yaar...in a country where guests are given the designation and respect of God or a modern country where any business knows that a customer and his/her satisfaction is the most important gospel of business....what kind of sense does this make...rajma chawaal ka mazzaak udata hai...khud kya ghar pe roz italian ya lobster ya crab khata hai!!!??/

I just could not stand the snobbish attitude that is sometimes being shown....geet is being made fun of for her dressing....India mein majority ladkiyan salwar kameez hi pehnti hain aur kaam pe isi mein jaati hain...and about this not being posh....cvs check out the last appearances of ladies like katrina kaif or kareena or bipasha in the media...before coming out with such fantastic and out of this world scenarios....

I have no intentions of hurting anyones views by this...just sharing my frustration...😊

Exactly right Eve, sometimes I feel why the CVs put forward such exaggerated conception to the viewers. How can they make our country proud by showing such stuff….So nonsense? Just to make an impact of Maan's character how can they show such disrespectful stuff????

I have stayed in India and am living in the US. Neither in India nor in US have seen such absurd thing in 5 star hotels. I have been to so many 5 star hotels so am saying this I have never experienced such things. I have seen Indians in Salwar suits in 5 star hotels…they were never treated with disrespect.

Just to sell their serial how can they degrade our own country. Not at all acceptable. Forget abt me, there are so many NRIs even ppl residing in India have never witnessed such things. Also think about those Indians who never visited India…what picture they'll have about our country.
We love Geet HSP…but we love India much much more….get that CVs.

@eveline..super post..
it boils my blood to see indians make fun of their own dresses ...
but believe it ..its happened to me.. we went to a restaurant for dinner to celebrate my husbands's birthday and yes, it was posh.
I was wearing a salwar and only for that reason, the waiter was trying to show me that this is the serving bowl and this is the plate you should eat it..
Needless to say, I gave him a huge piece of my mind. But later, my hubby & me both were discussing abt how shallow people's perceptions are - only based on type of clothes u wear?

I do realize that that kind of attitude is happening in certain sections of society..like college students or the snobbish strata ..but by showing this on a show that is meant for the masses...this kind of wrong and disrespectful attitude is fostered and encouraged in a way!!
And not to forget when today our nation's capital has been labelled as the world's most unsafest city for women....salwaar kameez seems to be the safest bet to the mjority of women..and beautiful too...we all know that ...right😊!!

so true...this is taking fantasy a bit too far away...it instills ideas in young impressionable minds that wearing salwar kameez is not hip enough...

which is so untrue....

Hmm ye Cvs need to do a lot of homework..it seems..

You're so right. It's a very lame device.
If Sasha-Tasha do it, you can think ok, they're jealous. And yes, if someone wears ONLY salwars and doesn't wear westerns, it means they're from more conservative backgrounds, so you can imagine girls like that putting down someone like Geet.
But in a restaurant!! come on! rubbish.
