Maan getting things out of his Jeep-"Pehle toh baarish se bachna hoga, uske baad hi kuch aur soch sakte hain"
Maan slowly started to get things out of his jeep. On his back, he put a trekking bag which contained essential items, hosted his rifle on his shoulder, and in his hands carried his and Geet's luggage. To Geet, Maan says to carry the sleeping bag he kept in his Jeep, and tells her to pick up the food bag that he had picked up at the dhaba.
Soon finding a cleared up spot, Maan starts to work on pitching his tent. Geet in the meantime sits on her luggage with her duppatta over her head trying miserably to prevent herself from getting wet, as Maan busied himself with erecting his tent in the monsoon rain.
Geet slowly got up and started to enjoy the monsoon rain, feeling the drizzle on her face. As she twirled around enjoying herself, Maan observed the 'pagal ladki' and gave a half smile to himself 'She's so childish sometimes!'. Maan was lost watching Geet in getting wet in the rain. He, in his trance started walking towards Geet being mesmerized by her innocence. Geet unaware of Maan, bumps into him. Maan keeps looking at Geet while holding her to prevent her from falling. Geet in return also looks at Maan unable to comprehend his eyes. Maan carefully looks at Geet's face, rain drizzling over her angelic face, her deep hazel eyes, her wet lips, and her wet locks with have become curly due to the rain. There was an unknown longing burning inside him seeing her like this. He wanted to just continue looking at her, to hold her closer to himself, to dance with her, but his control came back to him. Instead to hide everything he was experiencing, Maan just scolds Geet-"Jao tent ke andar apne geele kapde badal lo, varna tabeeyat kharab ho jaayegi. Main bahar hoon."
Geet goes inside the tent and changes into dry clothes. She didn't question Maan, because she knew what kind of man he was. He did exactly what he said, so she knew he would never walk in on her while she changed.
After she was done, Geet called to Maan-"Sir, aap bhenge gaye honge, aap bhi change kar lijiye. Main bahar aa jaati hoon"
Maan looks at her and goes-"Geet, agar tum bahar aa jaaogi toh phir se tumhare kapde bheeg jaayenge. Aur yeh kapde badalne ka silsila khatm nahin hoga. Main theek hoon waise."
"Theek hai Sir, aap change nahin kareinge. Par kam se kam andar toh aajaayiye. Varna aur bheeg jaayenge."
Maan came inside. It was a small tent, and they were a little crowded with their luggage along with them. Geet sees Maan's shirt is completely drenched. She offers him her towel-"Sir, main tab tak tent se baahar jhaankti hoon, aap apni shirt change kar lijiye, nahin toh agar aapki tabeeyat kharaab ho gayi toh phir aap Belgium kaise jaa sakeinge ?". Saying this, Geet went to look out of the tent.
Maan understood that she would have it no other way, and proceeded to do as she asked him to. After he finished, he called out to Geet-"Geet, agar tumhe bhook lagi hai toh wahaan packet mein khaana packed hai."
Geet gets surprised by Maan's actions. 'He had actually thought for me?'
Geet takes the food out, and decides to share with Maan. As she offers him, he refuses. Geet tells him-"Sir kehte hain ki raat ko bhuke nahin sona chahiye. Aap thoda sa hi kha lijiye. Ek hi niwaala sahi par bhuke mat rehiye ". Seeing Geet's insistance Maan took a small piece from the dish-"Theek hai, ab tum khaa lo".
As the night progressed further, the thunderstorms increased. Maan was thinking how he could spend the night . With the thunderstorm, and pouring rain it was not safe to sleep outside. He still went and peaked outside. If he didn't sleep outside, there was no way he could sleep insside sharing the tent with Geet. It did not seem appropriate. He instructed Geet-"Tum sleeping bag mein so jaana main yeh chaadar lekar bahaar sota hoon"
Geet stopping him-"Par itni baarish mein zameen bhi gili hai, toh yeh chaadar bhi gili ho jayegi. Phir eise mausam mein aap bahar kaise reh sakte hain?"
Maan-"Geet samajhne ki koshish karo. Hum dono ek saath kaise reh sakte hain iss tent mein?"
Geet-"Kyun, jis raat aapne meri jaan bachai thi Maan, uss raat toh aap bhi ussi jhopri mein thei mere saath. Meri raksha karne ke liye. Toh phir aaj kya hua?". Geet continued to explain Maan further that it was the emotions behind actions that make each action different. She explained how holding hands can be interpretted in different ways as a father holds his daughter's hand, a son holds his mother's hand, and a husband also holds his wife's hand. The action is the same, holding hands. However what distinguishes it is the feeling behind it. And then Geet showed Maan her trust in him-"Mujhe aap par pura bharosa hai. Isliye mujhe aapse kisi bhi tarah se darrne ki zaroorat nahin hai. Aap bhale jo bhi kehte ho, par aap aurauton ka sammaan bhi karte hai. Toh isliye aapko baahar jaane ki zaroorat nahin hai. Yehin par rehiye."
Maan was happy to learn that Geet trsuted him, and he made up his mind that he would never break her trust. He had Geet sleep in his sleeping bag while he himself stretched out on his and Geet's luggage to sleep. Watching Geet sleep, Maan resolved in his head that he would once speak formally to Geet's father regarding Geet. It had been long since he had accepted, but now he was not going to turn back. Maan Singh Khurana had never learnt to look back.
