Part 10
Recap-Ranbir and Kanya enjoy their first date at the mela.
Ranbir couldn't help smiling the next few days business was getting better. They weren't in profit but at least they were out of the danger Zone. Tom, Akash and Kat had worked a miracle on his family. Their attitude towards work had really changed. Ayaan actually seemed like he had developed a brain. Shlok and Arth too seemed taken by Tom's work ethics. His strict regime had helped his nephews work out where their priorities lie and were actually looking forward to going back to college and finish their studies in business and found a new idol. That wasn't the reason Ranbir was smiling about it was Kanya. He couldn't stop thinking about her. His next problem was actually thinking about his date that he had to sort out that wasn't extravagant but at the same time it means more. He was racking his brain until Kat came by.
R-Kat i need help. I'm thinking of going out on a date with Kanya but don't know what will make her feel special but not seem like i didn't put any effort.
Kat-Take her where you used to go when you were younger girls love all that. I'm alittle surprised you're taking Kanya though. That's not your usual type. You tend to go for the ones that live fast and free. She's a little too naive for you.
R-Things change.This girl is different and very special. She reminds me of being young and brought back those feelings i've had in my 20's. She gives me my innocence of love back. I can't explain it. She makes me feel like i can do anything around her. I'm more free and my true personalty comes alive. She makes me alive.
Kat-I'm happy for you
Ranbir takes Kanya to his family farmhouse where he grew up as a child. Kanya loved the place already. It reminded her of a how her family lived full of joy and love. Just how ahome should be like. It was nothing like the Nanda mansion where people seemed to get lost and do their own thing. Kanya wanted to see the house and Ranbir happily showed her the place he loved as a child. Kanya looked at all the family photos. Ranbir as a child and she just admired each photo with full of love.
K-I must say you have exceeded my expectation. I love this place. It has everything to do with you. I get to see every part of your life and a feel of how you guys lived. I prefer this place than your Mansion. It seems more open and very homely. Family is about a unit coming together whether you get along or not.
R- You know you are 1 in a million. Thats what i love about you. What you see is what you get.
K-Ranbir i'm so glad that you showed me this part of your life. (She gave Ranbir a kiss)
R-Come on i'll show you the rest of the house.
Ranbir takes Kanya upstairs to see the all the rooms. Ranbir showed Kanya his Mom's room all the bedrooms. Kanya was too busy looking at Ranbir's bedroom. Then Ranbir quickly leads Kanya downstairs after realising what she was looking at. They go to the kitchen. Kanya noticed that there was ready cooked meal for two.
K-Wow you really got everything planned. The food looks great. It smells even better.
They both sat round a table and have a good laugh and Ranbir cracks a couple of jokes about all the times he went upto mischief with his cousins and they all kept taking his blame for everything he did. Kanya loved the way Ranbir spoke about his family with such love and respect for his elders. That was another reason to love Ranbir. Kanya knew she was getting in too deep with the most notorious playboy but she couldn't help it. It was too late she was in love and there was no going back. She knew it that night at the bar and she knew it now. Kanya still hasn't forgotten that night the more time she spends with him the more she wants him.
Ranbir served the food out and the went by the fire and ate their dinner there. They both had Champaign and just enjoyed gazing into each others eyes. Ranbir after years of heartache finally let Kanya into his heart. After dinner Ranbir wanted to take Kanya horse riding. So they go to the barn. Ranbir's favourite two horses were in the stables. Rocky and Rambo. Rambo was the brown horse and Rocky was white in colour. He loved both of them as their Mom was Ranbir's childhood horse that passed away 8 years ago.
K-I've never ridden a horse before. I will just watch ok.
R-Mein dikha thi hoon. Don't worry main hoon na.
Ranbir saddles the horse and puts Kanya on it. Ranbir gets on Rambo behind Kanya and the go galloping. Ranbir holds Kanya tight around her waist and smells her sweet perfume. She smelt of wildflowers and jasmine. It was driving him crazy. Kanya enjoyed the feel of Ranbir's strong arms holding her that made her feel safe, secure and wished he never let go of her. That would stand still with just the two of them.
They stopped by a riverside. Kanya smiled and went with Ranbir paddling and messing around with the water. Ranbir for the first time felt like himself after a long time and splashed Kanya with the river. Kanya tried to push Ranbir in but he was too strong. Kanya was shivering because of the cold river so Ranbir gave her his jacket to wear. They had an eye lock. They soon lost track of time and decided that they spend the night in the farmhouse in separate bedroom. Kanya phoned her parents and let them know that she was safe and was stopping with friends and would see them tomorrow. She knew if she told them she was with Ranbir they would kill her.
K-Thanks for the lovely day. I will never forget it. My first date planned by you i will always remember.
R-Me too. I've never done this before. A first for me. Thanks for the company.
Ranbir told Kanya she could have the master room. Ranbir took his old room. Ranbir tried to find some secent clothes for Kanya and ended up just getting Ira's jumper and jeans and put her clothes in the bathroom. Kanya went in had a wash and put the clothes on while ranbir went to the bathroom next to his bedroom.
That night both couldn't sleep. They both were too busy thinking about each other. Both were restless. Kanya went down to get some water. Ranbir heard noises and was thinking who it could be. Did Kanya need something? If she was scared? He remembered as a child all the times he and his cousins used to scare eachother with ghost stories. None of them used to sleep alone. Ranbir got up and headed down. He saw Kanya with just a T-shirt on with a glass of water.
R-Couldn't sleep. Its weird coming back here. Normally i come with family but i never came here for a long time.
K-It's quite scary. I thought i could sleep but i'm scared of the dark. I had the light on but i still couldn't sleep. The echoes and the noises are quite scary. I normally have my whole family in the house so i'm not scared as much. But in the countryside i didn't realise you don't have electric lights.
R-Mom she likes the old way of life. When Papa was alive you know. She only comes here once in a while and likes the old way of life so that nobody forgets their roots.
K-Are you hungry? We have loads of food left.
R-No i'm fine. Just wanted to check if we had a burglar. No just joking wanted to make sure that you were ok.
K-I want a hot chocolate. Shall i make you one?
R-Ok(Looks at Kanya and his gaze goes towards her legs)
Kanya blushes. K-I......there you go.
R-Thanks. You look really nice when you blush.
Kanya starts gazing into Ranbir's eyes and starts shivering but not because she's cold but Ranbir was giving her goosebumps.
K-I need to go up now. It's quite late.
R-Yeah it is. But you're scared want some company?
K-I know but You scare me more.
R-Why's that? Kanya. Am i that frightening.
K-No. But i can't control myself with you. I need to keep my distance.
R-I feel the same too Kanya. You drive me mad. I have no control over myself. This is what you do to me. (She touches his heart and its pounding)
Both start looking into each others eyes.
R-Kanya I want to love you and protect you. It's been along time since i have ever loved someone with this much depth. Be with me.
K-I want to but we have already been.......(Maybe i shouldn't tell him he doesn't remember but this time neither of us is drunk)
Ranbir holds Kanya tightly and they have their night. This time both remember every part of what happened. Their every touch and every feel.
