Chapter 41

"Kripa, do you want to wait in the car? I mean the flight is an hour late…you should wait in the car…" Angad spoke looking at Kripa seated in the car next to him.

"No Angad….i want to come with you. I want to see beeji and janki dadi and prerna dadi!" Kripa excitedly got up as if she was going to see her relatives instead of Angad's. Angad noticed this and smiled softly at her. He got up too and the both of them entered the airport.

"coffee?" Angad asked as they stood by the counter. He grinned at her and she grinned back… " 1Late, half teaspoon brown sugar and double milk!" the both of them spoke in unisonand looked on at each other. Angad handed her the Late and she smiled at him. "You know, you aren't as bad as I thought you were!" she smiled. His grin reduced and a stiff expression surfaced his face…"You aren't as good as I thought you were" he spoke not smiling. Her smile decreased and she looked at him guiltily. "I'm sory Angad…i…" she began, but he interrupted "No…actually, I'm sorry. Sameera's death is no excuse to have behaved like that with you…it was just that…Kripa, you are so much like her! I was really angry that you were like her…I know its stupid but that's how I thought back then. You were so much like her that it scared me…what if I fell for you and you hurt me like sameera did…I hated Kripa and that's why…"

"its ok… you hated me in the beginning and I hated you after…now everything is over ok! Lets start afresh!" Kripa soke with a smile

"Ok!…Hi, I'm Angad Khanna…smart handom and sexy…current status single and ready to mingle!" he spoke grinning. She laughed at this and rolled her eyes "Hi, I'm Kripa, smart, hot and intelligent. Current status: Single and not ready to mingle!" she replied in the same tone.

"Ouch Kripa! that really hurt!" Angad mocked holding his heart as if she just broke it. She laughed at his antics and soon enough an hour passed by.

Maithili glanced at her ring and smiled at it. Bringing her hand close to her lips, she kissed the ring and then went back to cutting vegetables. The phone rang and she picked it up.

M: hello…

A: hi Mets…

Maithili rolled her eyes: I told you not Mets! I hate that…

A: yes yes I know, you hate it….but kya karu! I love it! Adi grinned and Maithili rolled her eyes again.

M: acha theek hai…what did you call for? She asked slightly harshly

A: ohhh gussa aa raha hai Mets?

M: adi stop annoying me ok! I have lots of work to do!

A: Aaj Sunday hai…kya kam hai tujhe?

M: adi, har dupher lunch kun banata hai tumhare liye?

A: ohhh lunch bana rahi ho!

M ;yes adi…now tell me, why did you call?

A: I feel like having lunch outside…chalogi?

M: no adi! Lunch bana diya hai!…so anything else?

A: yes..

M: what?

A: nothing…

M: huh?

A: just stay on the phone na! What's the rush?

M: adi! Let me remind you, I'm cooking! I don't want the food to burn!

A: so you'll break my heart but you won't allow the food to burn! He spoke dramatically pretending to be hurt

She grinned slightly and answered back in the same tone: yes adi! Because I love the food more than you…bye!

She put the phone down and laughed slightly.. "paagal kahika" she muttered and got up.

The phone rang again and she sighed. Picking it up she spoke

M: kya hai adi

Mu: adi? Ohhh! So you were speaking to adi before me! Iss liye phone engage aa raha tha!

M: Mukti! Woh…umm so when are you coming home? Lunch ready hai…

Mukti smiled at Maithili changing the topic: I'll reach home in 10 minutes…Prem and kali are also coming ok?

M: of course! She laughed a little "is there any need to ask? Prem and adi practically live here anyways! every morning you make them breakfast and every afternoon I make them lunch and krips makes them dinner every night."

Mukti smiled slightly: yes…but this could be the last time…

M: last time for what?

Mu: Maithili…Prem proposed to me… Mukti spoke quietly

M: OMG!!! He proposed to you!! That's sooo sweet! So now you're going to get married! Acha, I'll tell you something..

Mu:what?

Mai: adi also proposed to me

Mu: NO WAY! He proposed!

Maithili laughed at the coincidence: we both could get married in the same mandap!

Mukti giggled over the phone: I know! you-adi, me and Prem…now if only we find someone for Kripa…

Maithili and Mukti stayed silent for a while and then slowly Maithili spoke: are you thinking…what I'm thinking?

Mu: i…yes…

M: Angad is really nice…don't you think?

Mu; he really is…I mean, he's not that bad…you think we should..

Mai: no way! Kripa would murder us!

Mu: no no…nothing like that will happen…it'll work!

Mai: no no no…you ren't going to trick me into this one!

Mu: oh come on maithli! Ok fine…we won't ask krips about Angad…we'll just ask her is she hates Angad anymore…and if the answer is no…then we can start…ok?

Maithili thought for a while and then sighed: ok…but only if she says she doesn't hate him…ok!

Mu: ok

Mai: promise!

Mu: promise baba!

Maithili smiled and put down the phone.

She got up to return to the kitchen when the phone rang again. She looked annoyed at the phone it must be Mukti! uff! Kitni impatient hai!

M: yes! You can ask tonight! Maithili spoke on the phone

A: huh?

M: adi tum?

A: yeh…me…so, who were you talking to? He tried asking casually

Maithili raised her eyebrow and smirked

Mai: I was talking to Laksh…

A:…oh…

Maithili smiled at the phone

M: he asked me if I wanted to come for lunch…you know…and I said yes.

A: what? I asked you to come and you said no

M: yes, but that was you! This is LAKSH! My beeeeesssssstttt friend! She spoke tongue in cheek.

Adi understood what she was doing and grinned all the more.

A: ok..you can go!

M: huh? So you're not angry?

A: why would I be?

M: umm…i…

Adi got out of his car and entered the house. He saw Maithili with her back against him, talking on the phone

A: where are you now? You must be with laksh right!

M: ..yeah…I'm with laksh…in his car.

A: this is the house line Maithili… adi grinned at her for lying so badly

Maithili bit her tongue. How stupid could she get! : uh I mean, he's waiting outside the house…I'll be in his car soon…

A: acha!… he spoke walking close to her and stopping behind her.

He closed his phone and inched close to her.

Maithili, still unaware, spoke on the phone: ya…umm he's here…in the house…telling me to hurry up..

Adi raised his eyebrow at her and tried not to laugh

M: he's taking me to this really nice French restaurant in town…

Adi suddenly wrapped his arms round her making her gasp while whispering in her ear

"so how come I can't see him?"

Maithili gasped a little and closed her eyes in fright. Once she realised it was adi, she turned round and frowned.

M: you knew I was lying?

He smiled at her cuteness and caressed her hair…: anyone could have known you were lying!

She looked down slightly and smiled…: you know…I was talking to Mukti just now…she

A: hmmm… adi murmured as he part listened to her and part rested his head on her shoulder breathing in her sweet incense.

M: adi! She spoke pushing him away slightly

M: Mukti and I…well…Prem proposed to Mukti last night…

Adi looked up at mathili and smiled: that's great! So they are getting married soon right!

M: yes…that's the thing…Mukti and I will get married soon…but what about Kripa?

A: what do you mean 'what about Kripa?'

M: adi…when we get married, we're going to move out right! And when Mukti and Prem get married, they'll obviously get a new place…so what about krips? We can't leave her alone!

Adi turned around and thought for a while whilst Maithili set out the plates on the dining table. He smiled looking at a picture of the three friends on the wall. Kripa in the middle with Maithili and Mukti either side of her. Kripa was the youngest and the most loved amongst them all. He slowly turned round and went up to maihtili.

A: what if…we all live in the same house?

Maithili stopped and turned towards him smiling broadly.

Ma: I'm so glad you said this! She spoke hugging him

He laughed and hugged her back: I can't believe you didn't say this to me in the first place!…what did you think? I'd get annoyed or something?

M: I…didn't know really!

A: Kripa is not only your best friend, but she's like your sister right! And if she's you're sister then she becomes my Sali! And if she's my Sali, then she's my adhi gharwaali! Adi grinned while Maithili rolled her eyes and shook her head. He leaned forwards and kissed her ear.

M: adi, you think Prem will agree?

A: of course he will! I mean, Mukti would want this, so would kali and so would Prem!

M: so where are we planning to live then? In our house or yours?

A: in ours of course! I mean, mine, Prem's and Ang…

Adi paused half way and stared at Maithili: see, there is a slight problem there!

Maithili smiled: I know…lekin, if you and Prem decide to help me and Mukti…that problem could easily be solved!

Adi raised his eyebrow: what kind of help?

Mu: Prem…I was thinking about this…

P: hmm? Basanti you can actually think? I had no idea! Prem grinned while paying for the coconut water on the road side. Mukti rolled her eyes and pushed him slightly

M: Prem…are we going to…you know…move out after marriage?

P: what does that mean? He asked nonchallently while placing two straws in one coconut and extending it towards her.

Taking a quick sip, she sighed: i…can we stay together? I mean, me, you, kali, Maithili, adi, Kripa and…

P: I think you've forgotten Angad!

Prem spoke while sipping the drink from the other straw. Mukti leaned forwards and sipped from her straw and both their heads collided.

Parting, she looked at him: I'm not forgetting Angad…I just need to know its fine with you for us to stay under one roof…

P: basanti…Prem leaned forwards towards Mukti, mear inches away from her lips and spoke: how long have you known me for?

He asked caressing her nose with his

"what do you think? Would I have any problems?" he asked gently kissing her nose.

She sighed and smiled. Hugging him she whispered: thankyou sooo much!

P: you said it again! I swear I'll have to kiss you eerytime you say that wretched 'thankyou'!

Mukti grinned: you can if you want to!

He leaned forwards and sealed her lips with his. Pulling her closer in his grasp, his hands caressed her cheek as he kissed her. Pulling away, she looked shyly and hugged him.

M: Prem…

She began again and he grinned

P: what is it Mukti? What else?

M: i…wasn't going to ask for anything else thankyou very much! She spoke dignified and pulled away from the hug

P: are you sure! He asked moving closer to her

M: i…am sure

She spoke unsurely. Prem shook his head smiling…: come on basanti! Just ask! What's that saying in hindi? Agar tum kaho toh mein tumhare liye chand tak le aaonga!

Mukti rolls her eyes yet smiles: mujhe chand tare nahi chahiye, mujhe bas tumhari madat chahiye…

P: what sort of help?

Mukti looked into his eyes and quickly kissed his forhead before she dictated her plans to him

heyy great part..loved it..lol didnt even realize u updated....awww its so cute how kripa is excited to meet the family.....and yayy her opinion is changing for angad...im sure shes gonna say no she doesnt hate him and then the grls will be all ready to get AK together..and they will be living together...that will be fun...lol..im jus waiting for when beeji comes...she thinks kripa is angads grlfriend..lol...cant wait for that...great job hun...continue soon
