Love's Last
She stared out the window, watching the crystal raindrops cascading down to earth. Her hand slid on to the condensed glass pane as flashes, memories passed her mind. No one watching her would think she had a dark past, a dark secret lurking behind her, but that was the truth. Her eyes grew moist as she reviewed the past five years of her life. She promised not to cry, she promised not to hurt herself by remembering his last words, but tears and grief were something she couldn?t control. She let out a deep sigh as a single disobedient tear dropped from her eye to the ground. She cursed herself for crying for him?she hated him now, but still remembered him, still cherished ?those days?, the days she was in college.
This was her now?the real ?her?. She would charade around giving people the impression she was happy, joyful and living her life to the fullest, but only she knew what she really was, how she really suffered every day, every night, seething in anger, cursing her past. She would pretend that nothing bothered her, as if she was the strongest person in the world, but only she knew how weak she really was.
She reminded herself for the thousandth time who she was. She was the owner of a third of the country?s leading fashion house. She was rich?beautiful?smart and successful. She was Kripa Sharma.
Her hands fidgeted as she helplessly paced the hall. Her eyes searched for the two people she was the closest to. The two people who always supported her, who always sided her, her two best friends Mukti Kapoor and Maithili Nanda
?you?re late!? she hissed at the two figures entering the house, but she smiled and hugged them.
This was her life now, secluding herself from the world, she seemed reserved. She would only be herself in front of her friends, because she shares everything with them.
Her two friends were just as successful as her. Both were partners of the fashion house and one even had a career as a Rockstar.
There were three main things the three friends shared:
Their home, their fashion house and one word that changed their lives forever...Love.
