Chapter-6
After half an hour of hickri dickry they finally reached the venue, all the while Mishti barely controlled her stomach from growling out of hunger, food was her life; well,of course it's everyone's life too. But other people eat to live, and Mishti...well, she LIVES to eat. She barely weighed 120 pounds and no one could guess by looking at her that she could eat that much. It was something that was god gifted to her...she could eat as much as she wants and can stay pencil thin, although she never thanked God for this, which was quite disappointing if one cares to ask God, no one does, though.
"I assume you have prepared the agenda for this meeting?" growled the devil.
WHAT??
"Bu...but you didn't tell me to prepare the agenda" Mishti managed to stammer... He will chop her into pieces and then feed her pieces to his bull dogs if she's forgotten that; but she was quite sure that he has said nothing about the agenda of this meeting, at least she hoped he hasn't.
"That's right. I didn't tell you that...I told Mr Ahmad, I wouldn't dream of giving you that important task. I know it's not your cuppa" said the Satan smirking at her wickedly.
How dare he! First he didn't let her eat anything and now he was making fun of her abilities! The nerve of this man..ha!!
" How nice of you" replied Mishti sarcastically.
Bloody Slytherin!
They reached the board room and there was CHOCOLATE PASTRIES everywhere! Well, not everywhere but there was a buffet arranged for the clints. SO MUCH FOOD. Was all on Mishti's mind she hastily made her way to the table...but there was a steel band on her arm that was pulling her back! What the.. Thought Mishti and looked at her arm...well, seems like that was Mr devil's hand that was holding her back.
"Don't even think about it" Ruhaan gritted his teeth.
"But I'm hungry!" Cried Mishti
"Then you should've eaten something before coming here! Listen, I don't care if you die from hunger but you are NOT touching that food, understood? That is for our clients and the refreshments don't start before the meeting. So you're not touching that. Or else..." He didn't complete the sentence. What was the point anyway? She already knew. Or else he'd fire her. That bas***d! Mishti almost wept with the sheer injustice of it.
She longingly looked at the table, full of food and grudgingly made her way into the board room for the meeting.
"I hate you God!" Now it was God's turn to weep at the sheer injustice of this statement. Although he didn't.

How the two hours of the meeting went, Mishti didn't know. Only the thought of having that smooth, yum chocolate pastries carried her through the whole meeting. She could imagine the taste it'd leave in her mouth...oh, so sweet, so chocolaty...all she had to do was take a bite and the way it melts...mmm, yum.
"Miss khanna?" Mshti was too busy drooling and daydreaming of her pastries that she didn't pay any attention.
"MISS KHANNA" it felt like someone had thrown buckets of ice waters at her...
"Ye..yes, sir" said Mishti coming back from her reverie
" did you take all the notes?"
SHIT
"Yes" she lied, crossing her fingers behind her back
"When is the consignment due?" Asked Ruhaan suspiciously, seeing through her lie.
"Umm...the 5th of March?" Mishti hoped as hell that she had noted the correct date or she was the dead meat.
"Okay" he seemed satisfied. Thank God for little mercies, thought Mishti, relieved.
But her happiness was short lived, for by the time she reached for her pastries, they were all gone. VANISHED
"Where did all the food go?" She asked horrified
Ruhaan looked at her as if she was a joker...he couldn't decide if he should laugh at her or strangle her.
"Weren't you paying any attention Miss Khanna? The clients were in a hurry so I send back all the food"
She looked at him as if he had asked for both of her kidneys. She looked so devastated that even he had to feel pity for her.
"Oh c'mon now, don't gimmi that look. Come I'll buy you some ice creams" As soon as the words left his mouth; Mishti's whole face lit up and she gave him the most dazzling and charming smile he'd ever seen. That smile did something to his heart, he felt like he could die looking at her smile. He felt warm liquid seeping in his cold heart...it was as if that one smile turned his world upside down.
" Are you going to stand there and smile like a joker or are you coming to have some ice cream? You have five seconds to decide"
"I'm coming" replied Miss chatter box immediately.
Such a kid. Thought Ruhaan amusingly
