Avyaan - learn from the dog and let loose. Ask for her real phone number, insist driving her home, leave your past behind and start enjoying the present !

Jas, The last four lines in your post might be seen as the most dangerous in letting go of the control they have in life 😊

May be we should redefine going out for a date as going out for a transaction or one of the many.

Like in this story, she's physically attracted, doesn't want emotions, every point instantly is able to notice the difference in habitual qualities of these men, one her ex, whom she loves and the other , her fling .. but right now she will freak out giving a label to the man she's making out with.

Every generation ,new terminologies get added to the .. so called traditional ones like , suitor, husband , then there are pseudo modern ones like boy friend , significant other , date etc... and now post modern ones where there's still a debate to whether we need terminologies.

In The post modern ones, where gender roles are getting redefined in a major way, the equal ones made possible by this wave of internet and change in economic status, I understand one is increasingly not in favor of certifying them as relationships . This ilk possibly fears labels being tagged to relationships . So they are non relationships then where Labeling is taboo ...where people swear by instant gratification skeptically accepting emotions as too shallow. But then what are these... if we do not want a label.

Right, We cannot name these physical encounters as relationships ... that's uncool I get it.

U have the answer to your own question. I'm from a generation where relationships were fiance, husband and May be boyfriend in a smaller percentage of folks. Hence the request to commit from my sentiment.

I can't even associate to friends with benefits. In this case, it is further non committal.

In fact, I was reading a YA novel. The girl is a freshmen in college and goes around having fun in the sports community without even giving giving her actual name or phone. I guess they want fun but are not ready to commit or tied down. Just address physical needs keeping emotion independence. W.E - I can't relate personally but understand that's where the younger generation are headed to 😕

She didn't want to open her eyes. Just lay there in the semi conscious state reliving the achy yet fulfilling love making
