Akka had a "pleasant Sunday"
Paati had taken Shubhang and gone to Nattu Mama's house (Natarajan Mama's) that gave Bala and her enough time to have a private encounter
Akka looked happy and flushed
"I got mine tied after the second. How is he alowing you to do it after first itself?" Akka did not think it to be a big deal, or so it sounded like by the attention she was paying right now
caught between cooking and eye flirting with her husband
"Umm... I wanted to see what you thought of it first" she muttered
Aimlessly pushing the pieces of baingan in the karhai
For October Akka's kitchen was roasting her
"Ida paar dee, I am not ur husband, mine is sitting out there, he wrung me out like a towel" she giggled
"I can tell from ur face" II smiled
"Amma took Shubh to Nattu Mama's... ivanukku jaali (he rejoiced)" Akka giggled
"Isnt it his fave Sunday thing anyway?" Ii enquired
"Adu, Rajini movie, vengaya sambar aloo curry, nanna thookkam... and then BEER in the evening" Akka laughed uncontrollably
"Did u check all the boxes?" II smiled
"All except beer" Akka whispered "Instead we did it twice" Akka was hysterical
It was quite rare for Akka to go that route. II was used to that path, in fact it was well trodden
The days after he returned from Paris
He cornered her usually sometimes thrice in a 24 hour period
They both craved "to get it out of the system"
It had been almost a day and a half and besides that kiss in the kitchen her life was parched
"What do u think ka?" II asked
"I think its a terrible idea. It wont fly. Dont bring it up" Akka said seriously
"After the miscarriage I am afraid, teriyuma? (do u know?) I was dreading when he was going to return... but thankfully..." II stopped suddenly

"I came when u were pretending to be Rajini in ur sleep" II laughed
Bala smiled sheepishly "Ejaman Annamalai, Netri Kann, Dalapathi... ellame soooper di" Bala gushed
II and Bala argued for a good 45 minutes over his fave movie
II mocked every choice Bala had
Bala teased his wife as he bantered with his SIL
"Appa paavam da, turn on the news" Akka ordered
Bala made a face and went back to turn to Sun News for his Dad
"He is sooo fun to talk with" Ii sighed

"Will u go with me to get my tubes tied?" II demanded

"Da paar, talk to him, if he agrees, talk to Amma Appa.. if they agree" "Appa will" "Amma will never agree" Akka spoke sagely
II smiled at Akka's comment
"Appa will be happy. Avana madiri othane jaasti nenachindu irunda, now u have ur kozhakattai" (one like him was enough for Appa, but then u had Nivi)" Akka laughed
"Adukosramey you should have like twin boys and twin girls... ALL looking like him" Akka laughed hysterically
"U think Appa and his enemity is amusing?" II was hurt
"Pinne?" (then what?) Akka questioned waving a belan
"I miss what u have" II muttered
"Podi" Akka dismissed
Akka began to roll out rotis, II flipped and turned them over the flame
"Hey u are leaving all of Sam's shahi paneer here, what if ur FIL asks at dinner" Akka worried
"Po ka... they dont care Mahavir will make chicken or lamb, it was for me. If u dont want to feed me I will take my SIL's shahi paneer and go back to my house" Ii tried to fight tears
"Loose aa dee nee?" Akka scolded
They made 10 rotis jointly
"Will u do it again tonight?" II asked
"Its private... besharam" Akka chuckled
II nodded and took everything out to the dining table
Akka made a few more rotis
"Hey can u imagine Appa's face when u find out u are having twin BOYS?"
Akka's belan slipped and fell, she sat on the tiny kitchen's floor and held her stomach and laughed heartily
II's face broke into a smile
"TWO? like HIM?" "WOWW!!"
Akka shipped II to bring Paati from Nattu Mama's house
II was reluctant
She went anyway
Nattu Mama was polite and warm
Mami was cold and quiet
She grabbed Shubhang and they returned
She fed Shubh Akka served everyone
She sat down with Akka to eat
Amma called, they face timed and talked about Amma's fave Rajini movie
Akka made II sing "Yamunai aatrile"
Bala listened mesmerized
"Sema koral dee kanna onakku" (u have a lovely voice kid) Bala appreciated
II nodded shyly
"Kannan anga irukaan noku padindu irukka" (her Krishna is at home she is singing for ur pleasure) Paati commented causing everyone to laugh
