Chapter XIII

Mihika reached the balcony. Abhishek was following her secretly. She took a glance at the chain. For a few days, this chain had been very important to her. Maybe it was the owner who mattered, but her want to be with Abhishek, was reflected by her wish to possess the chain.

But, while she was admiring the chain, her eyes fell on the background. Someone entered the house. It was Ashok! He was someone whom she expected never to come here. But her luck was not good.

Mihika knew very well of Ashok's power and money. As much as she hated the fact, he could do a lot of influence her life in an adverse manner. She then realised how much could he do to Abhishek if he came to know about their increasing closeness.

Not that she doubted Abhishek's abilities, there were certain things he couldn't control. Ashok was capable to getting Abhishek transferred to another city. And at this point, all she wanted was Abhishek to stay close to her.

If she could see Abhishek near her, it was more than enough. Rest, she thought, would be secondary and depend on their fate. Ashok, was shameless. Mihika knew he could cross his limits again like he once did, but she had to limit her affection for Abhishek because, at this point, she was yet not divorced.

Once, the divorce takes place, she felt, she would be free of any measures and limits to control her affection. Much like any human, Mihika decided to suppress her feelings for Abhishek at this point.

She turned to leave but found Abhishek behind. He was waiting for her. Mihika could not say anything, and the chance was taken by Abhishek to break the silence.

"My chain! Now Mihika this is wrong you have taken it back by felony!"

Mihika approached him and asked for his hand where she placed the chain back and quit the room.

Abhishek was, at this point, more shocked that sad. Mihika's quick change of wish was astonishing to him. There was something more to it just than what appeared on surface. Abhishek, thus, felt that she needed sometime to move on. He however did not realise the actual reason for her behaviour.

Chapter XIV

Mihika opened her eyes. Last night was tough. She didn't even remember when she came home and crashed in her bed to sleep. She had not changed and just slept as she came.

She glanced at the clock. Quarter to ten it was. She got up to the get ready for the day when Vandu entered the room. "Had a sound sleep?" She asked.

"I did!" Mihika replied with absolute disinterest.

"You surely did. But Miku, do you have any idea who ACP Abhishek might have call led you almost ten times since six in the morning?" Vandu told Mihika as she checked her phone.

Mihika stood still for a second and in the next one she snatched the phone from her sister and said, "How would I know? Most probably he would be wanting to talk about something important!"

"With you! Miku is a police officer not you personal bodyguard that he needs to call you madly since morning".

"Oho! You know what akka? Just get me some breakfast and I'll get ready till them!" Mihika replied as she took and towel and went into the bathroom to get ready.

As soon as Vandu left, Mihika came out and checked her phone. And tried calling Abhishek but his phone was switched off. She cursed her luck of a few minutes and then got back to prepare for daily chores.

Abhishek, on the other hand was worried. He hardly slept last night and was now at work. He was trying to concentrate but his head was way too engaged in thinking about Mihika to concentrate on anything else.

His phone was off because it had no battery and he probably was the only one waiting to call in the whole world. Abhishek now felt stupid to think of calling her so desperately. What would she think? Won't that portray him like a stupid desperate and really obsessed guy? He did not want to scare her away by all that.

His thoughts were interrupted by Officer Sharma who came in to inform him at all arrangements had been done and they were ready to leave for investigation at hotel Survagya. He quickly got ready and quit the room without taking his phone.

Chapter XV

Mihika came down to have breakfast. Vandu was ready to attack her with questions. She had Ishita beside her to help in the same. Mihika, though a little frightened by the presence of both of them, soon sat down to eat.

"Miku, ACP Abhishek is really cute no?" Vandu commenced.

Mihika did not reply but just blinked. She found it way to strange to see her elder sister, who was married and a mother of two, to drool over a guy, no actually to drool over a guy she liked!

Ishita then added up, "I feel ACP is a sweet guy. His wife will be really lucky!"

Mihika rolled her eyes. These seemed like lame trials to get attention. But then, composing herself she said, "Akka, I don't really know how good

talents or he is! But for sure, his wife will be lucky.

"And he is so dashing. My god! Ishu you won't believe the way he saved me while we were stuck between goons, I was flattered!" Vandu expressed her liking.

"And.. Then he very smartly or rather over smartly, he said we need not thank him for his help!" Mihika replied.

"But still, you are lucky have a friend like him Mihika!" Ishita replied with a smile.

Mihika was unimpressed. This was something she already knew. Vandu had been drooling over Abhishek, since fovever. Abhishek had helped Ishita a couple of times in handling cases related to Shagun hence she respected him. But, Mihika, Abhishek had done nothing for her. She frowned at the thought!

While the three were conversing, Bala and Shravu entered the room, bickering.

"Give me the remote Shravu!" Bala said. He was annoyed.

"No! I want to watch cartoon Appa!" The little kid said with an annoyed expression.

Both were rattling when Vandu interrupted. "Shravu! Give Appa the remote!"

After making a few faces which expressed his disappointment and anger, the kid handed the remote to his dad and left.

"Thanks Vandu! Kids I tell you!" Bala sigh relief.

That was when Vandu whispered to Mihika, "Miku, don't you ever take chance when you have kids! These men, the are useless when it comes to handling kids!". Her arguments were supported my Ishita as well.

Mihika, for a moment, thought about how would her kids look. It was kind of a fantasy but way too far-fetched. She shuddered the next second when she realised what she was thinking at the moment.

The next moment attracted her attention to the TV screen, precisely towards the news reporter who was covering the live update about fire on a hotel in Delhi!

He then reached some police officers of ask a few question, officer Sharma was one of them. "We were her for arresting some smugglers. But soon the conditions worsened when a cylinder exploded in the hotel kitchen. We are in the dining area which is just outside the entrance to the kitchen. Thus, we were luckily saved by the rescuers. Some of our fellows are still inside though. Our ACP sir, ACP Abhishek Singh, is still inside. We was sitting adjacent to the wall of the kitchen, he thus couldn't make his way out and is still stuck in."

Mihika was shocked. She was way too worried to react rationally. She got up went to take her purse and ran out of the room. Leaving, the rest puzzled.

Hmm.. I see. This was one set of updates which comes before some really dramatic events in the storyline. So enjoy these because you never know, you many feel irritated the next time by this story. 😆

Hope you liked the song sequence. The song is so very Bollywood-like but I kind a liked it and it suits AbhiKa I feel. So, its in the updates.

Fantastic updates! I love how Mihika grudgingly tries to keep Abhishek away and ends up doing the opposite instead. And this chain thing is really cute. And she was wearing his chain? Eeekks! <3 I had such a goofy smile on my face reading that part where he lets Mihika rob it off him, to lost in her to realize. I hope Mihika steals it again. 😆 And that part where Vandu was fangirling over Abhishek was also pretty comical. I have a feeling you have integrated a lot of your own thoughts in Vandu. 😆 I am really looking forward to the next update, I hope Mihika shows that slightly more vulnerable side of her, at least for that one moment, for that fear of losing her love. And as for your note, I am the slightest bit worried considering I am well too aware of the fact that you love Abhishek way too much to significantly harm him. 😆 And you're not EK so I don't find any legit reason to worry. 😆

And I love the vocabulary you use! I envy you. 😆

And just a little suggestion, you could try infusing a little more conversation between the characters than keeping it 3rd person/description based, just for the conversations alone. I feel it lets readers have a better connect with the story, if that makes any sense?

P.S. Please give us mega updates all the time. 😆

So Mihika cannot be with Abhishek before she is divorced from Ashok? Okay now Mihika's behaviour is understandable, she can't open her feelings when she's still tied down. I liked the song. Plus it did suit them. 😊 I just hope Abhishek is okay because the accident will definitely bring Mihika's feeling to the forefront but hopefully not at the cost of Abhishek's life. Let's see how the drama unfolds. Keep it up Angie. 😊

Mihika felt incomplete at the sangeet.obviously u were missing Abhishek.He also came there.but she ignored him purposefully.She did dance with him.it was cute.but i want their passionate romantic dance.their dance was cute on d show.Well...Mihik had done a passionate dance with Ashok once.Wish it was with Abhishek.While d song moved u depicted her emotions very well.loved d way she thought that d chain is special 2 her as its owner is very important 2 her.She is tensed whether ashok will harm abhi or transfer him 2 another place if she goes into a relationship with him.She just wants him near by.she is rly falling 4 him thats y she wants him near.When abhishek asked d chain back in a teasing manner very seriously she returned it n walked off.that made him upset.so sad.he called her many times.when she called him back as his mob was switched off they cud'nt talk 2 each other.Abhi didnt know that she called him back.so he thinks he is foolish 2 call her.so sad.Abhi in danger.the restless mihika rushed there.
Thx again 4 mega updates.again thx a lot as u r the only sincere Abhika writer.i like drama in luv stories.so waiting 4 more dramatic events in d ff
