PART 14

Neha smiled brightly as she walked towards Shiv. She did not know what had overcome her this morning. From the moment she had opened her eyes this morning she smiled. Everything around her, the gentle blowing of the wind in her hair, the warm sun rays that fell on her face, the sweet scent of the pink and yellow roses she held in her hand, all seem to add to her joy.

"Hey Shivvy!" Neha smiled widely at Shiv, giving him the roses.

"Wow, Shivvy? And these roses?" Shiv looked at Neha puzzled.

"Oh Shivvy is your new name from me!" Neha pulled at her collars, proud she had choosen such a cute nick name for Shiv. "And those roses are for you to give to me! I mean... I knew you wouldn't be smart enough to get me roses yourself... so I had to get them on my own." Neha rolled her eyes at Shiv pretending to be mad.

"Here you go princess" Shiv held out a bunch of roses in front of Neha.

As Neha collected the roses she realized the colour had changed from yellow pink to red. She looked up at Shiv
"Shiv!" A spontaneous smile broke onto her face. "How do you manage it?"

"How do I manage what?"

"How do you manage to make me blush, even when I don't want to." Neha folded her arms in front of her trying to supress her smile. She downcast her eyes, unable to look at Shiv.

Shiv tilted his head, placed his hand on Neha's chin and lifted her head. Both gazed into each others' eyes. "Neha your eyes..."

"I know are beautiful, that is what everyone tells me!" Neha interupted Shiv.

"That is not what I was going to say at all...and now you will never know!" Shiv teased Gauri.

"I am sorry Shiv can you tell me please!" Neha pleaded, her eyes expressed her desperation to know what Shiv had to say about her eyes.

"Oh, it's Shivvy remember. And Neha it is not fair, you can't look at me like that, I get weak."

"You do?" Neha giggled like a little girl, "Shivvy please tell me.." Neha batted her eyelids as she smiled brightly at Shiv.

Shiv couldn't help but laugh, "You are surely in a jolly mood today Neha. All the better for me, cause I want you to meet someone important today!"

Suddenly Neha's smile disappered. Who could this person be? What if it was Shiv's parents? What if they knew that Neha was Neha Kapoor, the girl Shiv was to marry? Should she tell Shiv the truth?

"Neha?" Shiv waved his hand in front of Neha's face.

"Huh!" Neha snapped out of her thoughts.

"Are you okay?"

"Shiv I need to tell you something." How would she tell him? How to start? I am the girl you left? I planned to break your heart? Three years ago... Would Shiv understand her? Would he even listen or want to see her once he found out? Would he love her still? Questions contuined to rise in Neha's mind.

"Neha? What did you want to say?" Neha looked at Shiv. She knew she would not be able to say anything to him. She had to face whatever was coming. Would this be the end?

"Nothing Shiv. Let's go." Neha smiled at Shiv as they both walked towards his car, hand in hand.
