Part 12
Neha tiptoed into her room. She knew her sisters would not be asleep and would soon coming rushing into her room to get all the details about the date out of her. However, Neha's parents were sleeping and she didn't want to disturb them. Neha sat on her bed, taking her shoes off, with a smile on her face as she recalled the events of the evening, she had spent with Shiv.
"So how was it?" Neha looked up, a bit dazed. She had not even noticed, Naina, Natasha and Shewta enter her room.
"Oh come on di! Answer us. How much more are you going to make us wait?" Naina asked eagerly, as she jumped onto Neha's bed.
Even though Neha was a quiet person and kept most of her thoughts to herself, she had never kept any secret from her sisters. And she was not going to start today. Neha started to tell them everything that had happened on the date. Everything she had said, and everything Shiv and told her. Maybe telling them more about Shiv would change their opinion of him. After all, after tonight's date Neha knew her opinion about Shiv was not the same, whether she wanted it to change or not.

"Oh gosh di! Sounds so dreamy. Shiv is so...he is so...."
"Oh shut up Naina." Shewta said in a stern voice. "What do you know about Shiv Khanna? Shiv has to fall for Neha and not the other way around. Do you know how many girls he must have said that too? Natasha?" Shewta turned to Natasha who was silently listening to an obviously angry Shewta "What are you doing? Tell Neha about Shiv, you should know!"
"Yah Neha you have to be careful with Shiv."
Shewta now went closer to Neha. "Neha remember when we younger and we used to believe in fairytales, well I know you still do. But Neha Shiv is not your prince charming, you can't fall for him. He won't give your happily ever after. Don't forget what happened."
Neha didn't say anything but simply hugged her older sister. She then quickly pulled away and rushed to the washroom. She never kept secrets from her sisters but she also didn't show her tears to them.

As Neha watched Shiv as he walk towards her with a wide smile on his face, her heart started to beat faster and faster. She was glad Naina was there with her. It would help her in remembering everything her sisters had said to her the night before. She reminded herself what all had been decided. Neha had to find ways to embarrass Shiv, and try and get to know as much about him so she could use it against him later. However, as Shiv came closer and closer all Neha could think of was to smile back at him and to tell him what a great time she had had the night before. Neha suddenly turned her back towards Shiv and now faced Naina.
"What are you doing di?" Naina asked astonished at her sister's sudden odd behaviour.
Neha made a funny face as though she had swallowed something extremely sour, as she felt Shiv's presence behind her.
"Hey Shiv! How are you?" Naina asked cheerfully, trying to take the attention away from her sister's weirdness.
"Hey gorgeous! How many hearts you broke today?" Shiv joked with Naina.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Neha asked, turning around to face Shiv.
"Huh?" Shiv was taken aback with Neha's sudden question. Even Naina was unable to understand what Neha was up to.
"Well...last night you said I was different from any other girl you have ever met. How many girls have you said that to, Mr. Shiv Khanna?"
Shiv was quiet for a moment. He couldn't understand if Neha was serious, joking, or being sarcastic. She had a small smile on her face but the expression in her eyes was something else, and Shiv was unable to understand it.
"Neha, what I said yesterday was true. It is true, I have dated many girls and trust me I have a lot of things I could sya to impress any girl. But with you IT IS different. When I with you I don't what takes over me, I just want to be myself around you. It's even strange to me. There is is just something about you that is unlike others." Shiv looked directly into Neha's eyes. He had forgotten that he and Neha were standing in a hallway with many students walking by. He had even forgotten that Naina stood right beside him listening to everything he said to Neha. Shiv leaned in to kiss Neha.
Just as Shiv's lips were about to touch Neha's, Neha turned around. She wanted to turn back around and melt into Shiv's arms but her sister's words from the night before repeated in her mind.
Neha turned back around, she once again wore teh same mysterious smile on her face. "Prove it!"
"Di?" Naina, could not understand what had overcome her sister.
"Okay sure." Shiv smiled at Neha. "What do you want me to do?"
"hmm..." Neha looked around trying to think of what she could get Shiv to do.
"Di you are not serious?" Naina could not comprehend anything that was going on. Had her sister not just heard Shiv's great speech? Any girl would melt after that speech, what was her sister thinking? Naina was totally confused.
Once again Naina's question was ignored as Neha continued with the instructions of what Shiv had to do. "I want you to go into that lecture hall and announce, in front of everyone, that you like to wear women's underwear."
"What? No way are you doing that Shiv!"
"Naina, whose side are you on? Mine or Shiv's?" Neha asked Naina, while still looking at Shiv.
Before Naina could say anything in return. Shiv left and headed towards the chosen lecture hall. Both Neha and Naina looked at each other, equally shocked. Even though, Neha had dared Shiv she had not expected him to actually do it. Both ran to the lecture hall's window.

Neha and Naina were speechless as Shiv stood in front of htem asking Neha if he had proved himself to her now. Neha simply nodded her head in response unable to speak as she tried to make herself believe that Shiv, Shiv Khanna had just announced to approximately two hundred students that he liked to wear women's underwear just because she had asked him to.
"Hey man that was awesome."
"Thanks yaar, that prof. is so boring your little joke really lightened the mood."
As the students poured out of the lecture hall hey all either admired Shiv for his daring move or thanked him for making a boring lecture interesting.
"That's not fair!" Neha grumbled spontaneously upon seeing Shiv just get more popular. "I don't even do anything and I embarass myself and you could announce something absolutely ridiculous and you just get more popular. Not fair!" Neha whinned like a little kid.
"Ok Miss. What do you want me to do then?" Shiv asked smiling, happy to see Neha complaining to him. Naina also smiled as she saw how much Shiv and cared for her sister.
"You have to do something else!" Neha announced.
"Not so quick! How do I know you are not just playing with my feelings?" Shiv asked with a sense of naugtiness in his eyes.
Neha and Naina froze.
"Ya...ya....wha..t do...you want ...me to ...do?" Neha asked trying to cover up her anxiety.
"Come to a party with me tonight?" When Neha didn't answer Shiv continued "Naina you should come to."
"Sorry Shiv I can't. Got other plans, but don't worry Neha di will be there."
"You will go with me right Neha?" Shiv asked looking at Neha. Last time Naina had said yes on Neha's behalf, but this time Shiv wanted to hear Neha say yes, to go out with him, herself.
"Okay. Yes!"
