"Sheena ab Viren ki shaadi ho chuki hai. Aur woh apni life mein bohot khush hai. Tum please yahaan se chali jaao."
"Please Buaji! Mujhe Viren se baat toh karne dijiye. I know he still loves me. We were together for 6 years. We were in love. He wanted me to marry him. I acted like an idiot then but I know he has it in him to take me back. I know he still loves me, he has to. He told me once, that he can't even imagine a life without me." Sheena was pleading and arguing at the same time. Every word that she spoke was cutting right through Jeevika's soul. What just happened? What is happening? Is she telling the truth? Virenji loves Sheena? He loved Sheena? What? When? How?
Now directly speaking to Viren, Sheen said "Once upon a time you couldn't imagine a life without me. You couldn't sleep without talking to me first and you wouldn't get out of bed without hearing my voice. No one gets over a love like that. It is just not possible."
"NOUGH!" Viren shouted. " No Sheena! I do not love you. You are my past. I have a wife now!"
"You mean you have an obligation now!"
"That's it! Leave!" Viren was seething with anger now. How dare she? How could she just walk into Jeevika's house and ambush her and her family with this. This is not her problem. He couldn't even begin to imagine what she must be going through right now.
"Oh Come on Viren! Let's face it! Tum jeevika ke saath khush ho? Iss Jeevika ke saath?" Sheena was pointing her long fingers at Jeevika now. "I know you really well Viren. You love parties, you love going out. You love music. And Jeevika?" turning her gaze to Jeevika Sheena continued, "well let's just be really nice and say this small town girl is not up to the mark."
"Jeevika meri wife hai Sheena. And I love her. You are done here!"
"Fine! If you really love her so much then how come she doesn't know about me? Why does she look like the earth has shattered beneath her feet? You didn't tell her about me did you? Ofcourse you didn't! Becauseyou are still in love with me and you are hoping that it would work out." As she said this Sheena took a long step towards Viren and put her hand on his chest right where his heart beat was the closest, but just as she was about to say her something someone took her hand and shoved it aside.
Before Sheena could fanthom what happened Jeevika was standing between her and Viren. "Who said he didn't tell me? Sab tumhaari tarah nahi hote Sheena! Main tumhaare aur Virenji ke bare mein bohot acche se jaanti hoon."
Sheena laughed out loud. "Yeah Right! I am sure that's true! Jab tumhe jhoot bolna nahi aata toh koshish kyun karti ho Jeevika?"
"Tum Virenji se London mein mili thi, Christmas se ek din pehle during out first year. Virenji tab apni graduation karr chuke they and law school ke first year mein they. Tum harr saal December and January unke saath manaati thi and every summer he used to come to India to spend time with you. You were in love and were engaged to be married but you didn't want to stay in a joint family and you asked him to choose. So finally after 6 years of being with you he realised his mistake and told you to leave, just like he did 5 minutes ago."
Every word that Jeevika just said felt like sandpaper rubbing against her dry throat. She knew Viren was uncomfortable and wanted Sheena gone and so she gathered all that she remembered from what Sheena had told them about her amazing boyfriend from London' and threw it in Sheena's face. But even while she was saying all this all she could think about were Sheena's explicit descriptions of all the hot sex' that she has with her boyfriend. Through all those years in college Jeevika was convinced that Sheena was just making up this boyfriend. Afterall he seemed so perfect. He always knew the right things to say and he would always want to talk to Sheena. He would send her gifts and bouquets and chocolates not only on special occasions but everytime he felt like showering a little love on her. She was the pampered girlfriend and Jeevika and her friends just thought it was too good to be true. But now Jeevika knew that it was all true. Because Viren is like that with her also. He stands by her at all times and he treats her like she is the most beautiful girl in the world. He also chose Swamini Bua over her just like he did with Sheena.
"Really Jeevika? You are gonna stand here and side by this man who lied to you and jumped into a relationship with you out of a broken heart? So much for self-respect! Wake up. He is a man-whor..." Before Sheena could finish her sentence She felt a stab of pain across her face which made Jeevika's message clear. No matter what Sheena said Jeevika wasn't going to budge.
Now that Jeevika had trashed Sheena's hopes and dreams Maanvi and Virat decided to intervene. "I think it is time you left Sheena", Maanvi said. "You've caused enough scene for one night." Virat took Sheena by the arm and started walking. "You broke my brother's heart once. I am not gonna let you be the reason why it happens again. Leave Bhai and Bhabhi alone." Saying this he dragged Sheena out of the room.
All eyes were on Jeevika. She could especially feels Viren's eyes boring into her back. "Jeevi..." Viren started to speak but she didn't have it in her to even look at him right now. She walked towards the door of the terrace and stepped down the first stair while calling behind her, "Mannu chal, neeche guests abhi bhi hain."
