Chapter 9

Sanyukta lay there weeping on her bed ,cursing her fate. She could hear her mother ,father ,brother, kanika and kaustuki's voice from out side asking her to open the door. She placed her palms on her ears . She kept on weeping trying to decipher the aftermath of her actions. She slowly removed her hands from her ears and took out the brown envelope and looked at it once again. Her heart shattered into a million pieces.

2 hours later

Everyone had gone away from her after all their efforts to open the door went futile. Sanyukta sat near her bed, crying over the ugly turn of events. He came near Sanyukta and sat by her side. She felt someone's presence near her and saw that it was Randhir who was sitting next to her . He looked upset, with his hair all ruffled and his eyes blood red from crying , just like her own. He raised his arms to hug her but she just pushed him aside and walked to the other side of the room.

"Sanyu, what's wrong? Please tell me...I'm getting worried.Please kuch to bolo."said a worried Randhir.

" Mr . Randhir Singh Shekhawat , what do you think ...That I love you? Oh ! please get a life . You think I'll fall for a looser like you . In your dreams Shekhawat. You know what,I did all this so that I could take revenge from you .That you went away leaving me alone in that lurch to face all the consequences alone. Now you get it , how it feels when someone you love so dearly , rejects you and chooses something else over you? I'm done taking my revenge and BTW, I've informed the media as well about Randhir Singh Shekhawat's failed marriage attempt. You'll get to see the pictures in tomorrow's newspaper . You are such a fool Randhir. You thought that a girl like me will love a guy like you? Well your reputation has been reduced to ashes , Randhir singh Shekhawat ke hone ya na hone se kisi ko koi farak nahi padega ab..." and she turned around to face him," Aur mujhe toh bilkul bhi nahi." She simply walked out of the room leaving behind Randhir all alone to comprehend what happened now. But this time , he did not cry. He will not shed his tears for someone as worthless as her. He done with all her compassion and love.

Maybe, his father was right. Yes , this is what womenkind was all about , manipulation , pain and betrayal. He simply walked to his house , swearing to himself that he will never ever let another girl get near him again. He could not afford another heartbreak. He has suffered enough. He did not deserve this much pain.

Meanwhile, Sanyukta broke down seeing Randhir walk away. She wanted to stop him and hold him and never let him go. But she could not. It would only cause more pain and neither one of them deserved it. She walked to the mandap and put the sindoor on her forehead and the mangalsutra around her neck and went to her room. She sat on her table and took out a paper and pen. She sat there for some time and then walked to her bed and lied there. She closed her eyes and lay there .She slept a peaceful sleep that night.

Next Morning: Sanyal Villa

Parth came into randhir's room and saw a broken Randhir sitting alone in the corner of his room with a picture in his hands . It was her photo. He walked over to him and sat beside him. Randhir looked up to parth and saw him crying . He told parth not to feel sorry for him but that's when he softly whispered to Randhir

" She's gone Randhir. She left for a place where we can't her bring her back from. "

Sanyukta did not wake up that morning .
