PROLOGUE-
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
' I understand,' was all she said.
Why does'nt she say anything more?Does she not realise the enormity of my mad,beseeching words?Does she not comprehend that everything has come to an end?Is she so devoid of emotion that she can't even shed a tear? Why is she so unfazed by the things i'm trying to tell her? Why is she not fighting for us?
If only she would say something ...anything...
The cold wind was blowing so hard , it cut like a knife through his heavily muffled face . He did not know which was causing more pain,whether it was the wind,or whether it was her standing there saying nothing when he said that they could not go on further...
They had known each other for the past 3 years now yet they felt so connected that it seemed to be a bond developed over several lifetimes.They had been through a gamut of experiences together,each bound to the other with hustle and loyalty. But now their paths had diverged forever. Sometimes in life,roads do diverge , for no fault of anyone. It just happens to be that way.
If only he could hear the thoughts running through her head behind that stoic mask...They were not coherent , they were not even relevant to what he was saying because she could'nt hear them anymore.The things that were ring in her ears were conversations that they had with each other in the past years.
And now he was leaving on a journey she knew she could not accompany him in. She did not know if she would ever get over him or would she forever live in the shadows of the past , but she knew that if she let a single tear fall , he would never go ahead and pursue what he had decide to.
Slowly Randhir walked away , leaving behind a stoic and expressionless Sanyukta who stood there like a statue for hours together...
You know it's love when all you want is that person to be happy , even if you are not a part of the happiness. She closed her eyes and prayed that maybe in a alternate universe , in an alternate time their names would resonate together and Sanyukta And Randhir would be SanDhir .
