A Hatke Sandhir Story-
My love for you is inexplicable. Even though I don't show it, I will be behind you forever, always.
Chapter 7 She was broken.
Just then, the sac that she kept hidden under her dupatta was vibrating. She opened it and saw her phone. 'Aman,' it read. Krisha wiped her tears. She quickly looked around her to see if anyone was awake outside and because she thought those college kids were asleep inside, she didn't bother to check behind her.
She cleared her throat, put the phone on speaker, and answered clearly, "Yes. Mr. Aman. My apologies for not calling before. You see things over here are a bit hectic. I still haven't reached where I need to be. Why did you call?"
"Oh, Ms. Krisha. I am deeply sorry for disturbing you. But there is a problem. Our clients has..." The other line was on speaker.
And with that, Krisha oppressed her heavy heart and got distracted in talking to that person. But what she didn't know was that there was a pair of eyes watching her- puzzled, shocked, and betrayed.
WHAT? Khushi? Wait, what is going on? And who is this Parth? Hold up. Let me start from the beginning. Who is this Parth, and why was she crying for him? AND... she knows perfect English. There is something wrong. The person on the phone just said Krisha. What is going on?
Randhir's head was bombarded with questions. The girl whom he thought was a nuisance, but yet trustworthy turned out to become the most disgusting person he knew. Physically and mentally.
The part that troubled him the most was the way she was talking. Her English was extremely fluent, and the fact that they were talking in business terms made him question this village girl. Wait, was she a village girl at all? Randhir, who was determined to find out the truth, still stood near the entry way hearing the conversation, about to go to her and expose her in front of everybody. But he saw her crying. And her cry reminded him of his pain and agonies, so he decided not to go. Yet.
But he hated cheaters and liars. And what he witnessed made his belief true. That girls are not worthy of being trusted.
And without hearing the rest of the conversation, he left to go inside. He had to get up early anyways for tomorrow morning.
---------
The next morning, from the FITE group, Sanyukta had woken up first. She looked around and saw that Khushi had already woken up.
She turned her head and saw Randhir. Stupid. He looks like a small kid when he is sleeping. Look, he even has a small smirk on his face. He must be thinking of ways of trying to make everyone's life like hell. Or wait, not everyone's, just mine. Goodness... Sanyukta was just about to get up, until she noticed him fidgeting around. She noticed that he was disturbed by the sun's rays from the window. By instinct, she just moved to try to block it. But, it didn't cover his whole face. So she leaned in closer about a foot away from his face. He stopped fidgeting now.
The proximity between her and him was alarming to her. Her heartbeats started fluctuating rapidly, and she couldn't explain this feeling. It was the same one when they were sitting together in the bus, whenever he catches her from falling, and whenever she saw a glimpse of the hidden sweet guy.
Randhir, upon feeling someone's breath, instantly opened his eyes. There he saw Sanyukta right close to him. Her eyes were the most beautiful aspect of her.
After a few moments of staring at her, he regained his memory of their feud and said, "Wow Sanyukta. I knew that you were a dumb jealous bimbo. But I didn't know you were a dumb jealous stalker bimbo."
Sanyukta, who was in shock, asked him innocently, "A dumb jealous stalker bimbo?"
"Yeah of course, you were a dumb girl. But now your jealousy has made you a stalker. That's why you were staring at me while I slept." He smirked.
Sanyukta, upon realizing what he said, got annoyed. "You know what. I was trying to help you. But I forgot for a second why it was worthless to help a MCP like you. You don't even deserve it." She instantly got up and went outside.
Randhir, who was still smirking, sat up straight and watched her leave out. A few seconds later, he saw Khushi come in and remembered what he heard last night. He made a mental note to himself to confront her about her fake identity. He wondered whether she was apart of the other team. Then afterwards, he got up and went for his exercise before they got to the Sarpanchji's place.
Meanwhile with Sanyukta
"Sanyukta!" Vardhan called her. She was entering the cottage.
Sanyukta, who was coming back from taking a shower, brought her attention to Vardhansir. "Yes sir. Sorry, I didn't notice you there. Did you need me to do something?"
"Where is everyone?" Vardhan looked through the door at the cottage. He saw most of the kids still in bad.
"Well sir. As far as I know, before I went for a shower, everyone was in the cottage. Only Randhir and I had woken up. And before you called, I saw Randhir's spot, and he isn't there now. I am not sure where he is." Sanyukta answered his question. She was curious why Vardhan had came here, when everyone was going to meet him at the Sarpanchji's place.
"I just wanted to know what is the status on everyone. I didn't see Randhir before. But even you don't know where he is. I want you to go and find him." Vardhan ordered her.
"But sir. Now?"
"Sanyukta, didn't I not just tell you a second ago that I wanted you to go find him. Of course now!" Vardhan was irritated at the question before him.
"Okay sir. Once I find Randhir, do you want me to tell him to see you? Or do you want to just meet us at the Sarpanchji's place."
"I'll meet you all there. I expect everyone there on time. No excuses." Vardhan walked away from the cottage on the way to town. My first move set in place. Niharika, just watch what happens.
Dang. Did Vardhan sir have to give me this right now? Abhi toh I haven't even eaten anything. Oos Randhir ke liye I won't be eating. God. What should I do first? Get Randhir or wake these guys up. I don't even know where that MCP went. I am going to wake them up. And then find him. Stupid.
After waking the gang up.. she goes out to find Randhir
"Randhirrr! RANDHIIIR!" Sanyukta shouted along the way. She really didn't know where she was going, but following a small pathway, she continued. After about fifteen minutes, she was irritated.
"Betiya, who are you looking for?" An old stern man called out after she yelled again. The man with grey hair, wrinkled face, had his paagri (turban) on.
"Uncleji, main ek ladke ko dundhrahi hoon. Par aaj subah se gayab ho gaya, aap ne kisi ladke ko dekha hai? He's about 5 foot seven inches, very muscular, full hair, and has a stubble. We are from FITE." Sanyukta awaited his reply.
"Betiya, tum toh ek ladki ho, aur you shouldn't be just out here looking for a boy. You should have another boy look for him. This is not good." The old man told her. Sanyukta suddenly got alerted.
"Aree, uncleji. It's not like that. I mean, my professor told me to look for him. I don't think you know Professor Vardhan? Randhir is the boy I am looking for. He's my classmate." Sanyukta tried to justify herself, but in vain.
"Vardhan. You can't expect anything else from him. Sending girls like this. Go. Go back." The old man scolded, and walked off.
I am told to go search for Randhir. Now that I went, I get told that it's not good that I am searching for Randhir. God. Why is there this mentality that girls and guys can't be alone and stuff. That's disgusting. What should I do now? Go find Randhir or go back. No, if I go back, I will get into trouble. No. I have to find him. He can't be too far from here. I should have asked Khushi. But I didn't even see her. God. Randhir. I'll kill you.
Sanyukta stood there thinking about Randhir, when she thought she saw 'him' walk on by. Quickly, she ran towards him.
"OUCH! RANDHIR!" While Sanyukta was running toward 'Randhir', she tripped on a branch and fell flat on the ground. She tried getting up again, but the pain in her ankle was too much. She looked forward and saw 'Randhir' still walking straight!
"Oye! RANDHIIIR! RANDHIIIR! PLEASE HELP! YOU MCP! IDIOT!" She called out to 'him'.
The guy that was walking straight turned around. However it wasn't Randhir.
Oh God! This isn't Randhir. What the hell?
"You calling out to me?" The guy asked. His muscular physique, clean-shaved baby face, soothing voice, and well settled hair made the guy look really attractive.
"Oh. I am sorry. I thought you were someone else. I didn't mean to call you those things." Sanyukta replied ashamedly as the guy proceeded toward her. Her hazel eyes grew as he took another step and kept his hand out. She felt uncomfortable, and apparently, the guy saw it on her face too.
"Don't worry. My name is Parth Kashyap. I am from CITE. I won't hurt ya." He smiled reassuringly. After listening to his soft yet masculine voice, Sanyukta eased down.
"Sanyukta." Sanyukta was just about to reach her hand out to him, when Randhir came yelling at her.
"FAARZI! What the hell are you doing?" He pushed the guy away and helped her up. His face was etched in hidden concern. She struggled getting up and was limping as she was moving. He brought her to a stand still with one hand around her waist and the other one holding her arm that was over his shoulder. He looked at Parth who was smirking and watching.
"Who the hell are you? What the hell are you doing?" Randhir gave an attitude.
"Randhir. Don't talk to him like that. He was trying to help me out." Sanyukta tried to cut Randhir off after sensing his anger.
"You just shut up!" He gritted his teeth while still keeping his glare at the other guy.
"Dude, don't worry. I meant no harm. Sanyukta had mistaken me for you. She fell. And I was trying to help her up. In that time, you came over here. Dude, I mean no harm between you boyfriend-girlfriend. By the way, name's Parth. Parth Kashyap." Parth kept calm throughout the whole time and spoke politely to Randhir.
"Hey! We aren't boyfriend-girlfriend. I hate him." Sanyukta blurted and looked at Randhir for his reaction.
While on the other hand, Randhir stared at the boy ahead of him. Parth. I have heard that name before. But where? It didn't even take him more than a second to remember where it came from. God. I knew I was right. I am always right. What a backstabber. It was that Krisha. No Khushi. Wait, right. Krisha. If it weren't for Sanyukta and her stupidity... Randhir's mind trailed off. And went back into time. To be exact, 30 minutes ago.
