cute drabbles! I like their little squabbles and conversations

So cute ! I just love your drabbles. They are short and sweet but give out a very heartwarming message.

What we eat or drink do reflect what we are to a certain extent. And both arnav n kushi are correct in their assessment to a certain extent. Me... I love both. So what does that make me? A bitter but overly sugared person!

The mood is very, very different for this one- don't say I didn't warn you. Randomness alert.

And because I feel a little guilty about it, I might write one titled 'Comes Around' as a second part some time in the future...but for now need to hit the books again T.T

ArHi Drabble |What Goes Around|

He had scoffed at her.

He had reminded her, reminded her cruelly, that what she had settled for was meagre, was average, was downright pitiful.

That what she had settled for had no name that people would recognise, that he would just be another face in the crowd for the rest of the world.

He had no business empire sprawling the country, no name and no label that would perk up the ears of the rich and the poor and gain their attention, no bank accounts brimming in money, no mansion-size houses in major cities, no accolades published in newspapers.

He had reminded her of all that, spelled all of that out to her, bitter and with the intent to hurt as badly as he could.

And she had answered him in three simple words.

'I love him.'

Deep into the loneliness of midnight, long after she had walked through his front doors for the last time, he remained sitting where he had been when she had turned away and gracefully exited without a backward glance. The thick wad of cash lay untouched on the coffee-table - her debt to him, repaid in full.

She had not elaborated, but he had found out anyway where all of it had come from - a loan pulled out by an ordinary desk clerk with a poorly paid job, living in a small, two-roomed apartment that was practically squalid when compared to the opulence of his 'house'.

And for the first time in his life, he felt jealousy churn like acid in his gut, let the burning-hot moisture melt out of his eyes and scald down his cheek, and resented the man who had nothing - except the one thing he didn't have, the one thing he had realised too late he wanted more than anything else.

Her.

Leave your thoughts, please? Let me know if you'd like a continuation or if I should leave it as it is...a part of me really wants to just leave it this way, the other part is wondering if I've gone emo :P

This was heart breakingly beautiful and with a handful of words you wonderfully expressed Arnav's anguish and torment. Impactful. I can read a continuation but this is stunning in itself. Like a bittersweet symphony. Thank yoi for sharing these lovely snippets with us. 😊

Oh wow, that packed quite a punch DE! Loved how you don't name any of the three, and yet we somehow we know it is he, the one who wanted to buy her with his money, the poor deluded ASR!

And she as Khushi.

Then who is the other, the one who has one her heart?

Did the wealthy one's arrogance and heartlessness drive her away to seek love elsewhere or is the other 'he' the one she fell in love with?

You leave us with so many questions, DE. But like yourself, I'm not sure if I really want any answers? Maybe it is best to leave the deluded one with his tears and worthless wealth and let her live her life with the one who has given her the wealth of love?

Hmmm.. that is a tricky one to answer😃
