ArHi Drabble Dabbles- Part 17 |Lesson Learnt| p74, 6/1/15

Yello readers!

This is no more than a playground where I'll occasionally toss in something or the other that I end up writing when I really should be doing something else.

Like right now.

Every piece is going to be short, unrelated, probably pointless.

So here we go with the first on.

Because I can't really concentrate on what I'm supposed to be doing.

ArHi Drabble |You're Welcome|

'Woah-

'Careful!'

In an amazing feat of dexterity and quick thinking that almost seemed orchestrated, Arnav had managed to grab the books teetering precariously in Khushi's arms, dropped them unceremoniously on her desk, before snagging her wrist to keep her from falling over.

Winded from the effort of lugging the weight of all those volumes and the grocery bags her mother had pleaded she pick up on the way home, Khushi all but collapsed backwards, sighing a deep, content sigh as her spine met the engulfing softness of the mattress.

From somewhere near her legs, dangling off the side of the bed because she had yet to muster the energy to pull off her shoes, a mocking scoff sounded.

'What? Not even a thank you' for saving you from breaking your neck?'

A sarcastic comeback tickled the back of her tongue, but Khushi was far too exhausted to try and banter with him. Instead, with her eyes still tightly shut, all but spread-eagled on the bed and with every intention of dozing off, she decided to yield this round to him.

'Tha-'

What she had not expected was that he would claim it for himself.

All thought of sleep vaporised to wisps of smoke. Khushi sat up so fast her surroundings spun giddily about her, even as her hand shot up to cover her mouth, tingling from the warm, slightly moist press of lips that had lasted for just half a second.

And as her mortification set in and her cheeks caught fire, steam burning behind her ears, her childhood friend, classmate and recently-turned boyfriend smirked a smug, self-satisfied smirk from his perch at the corner of her bed.

'You're welcome.'

I'll send out PMs later, because I have a project to finish and I've stalled long enough :(
