Chapter 5



"Well khushi till when you will stay in delhi and what will you be doing during your stay here?"asked anjali eyeing arnav. She knew that her brother wanted to know that, but as he will not be able to ask her, she asked so that not only him but everybody will know this and ofcouse she herself wanted to know this.



"Anjali, i came to india only to help babuji in finding a paying guest for buaji's house and in applying their passports and visas so that they can easily come with me to canada , without any tension of the house and other small-small things and after that we will all leave to canada and i think this will probably take six months time . So, i think i will stay in delhi for six months or so." replied khushi.



Arnav was shocked , his eyes widened for a second and he couldnt think except that khushi is here only for six months. What did she say...she will take her whole family to canada? This is very strange , while payal is here in india ,how could her family decided to leave, and most importantly how could khushi not think about this ,that payal will badly miss her family. Something must have happened between the sisters and it must be something very big for khushi to behave like this. But what is it? Anjali and others were also equally shocked to know this.


"But khushiji dont you think that payalji will miss her family too as you are saying that your family will shift in canada, means you all will gonna be living there then no??"asked anjali thoroughly confused about this decision.

"Oh about jiji, i am sure she will miss HER family but you are also there for her and i am sure she will not miss them that much as she has you all, but i am alone there and babuji's treatment will be good there , so i thought of shifting them there. I hope jiji dosent have any problem with this?"khushi said smiling at payal but the smile was not at all gentle, it was forced one and it didnt reach her eyes.



There was silence after this . Everybody was staring at khushi with shocked eyes, but khushi was only watching payal, waiting for her reply. Everybody noticed the tension between the sisters now and the emphasis on HER family which khushi gave, was also didnt go unnoticed by everyone.



Arnav was now sure that nothing is there between the sisters like it used to be. Now everybody was waiting for payal to reply.



"No khushi, its not a problem, not at all and you know that already" payal replied but she was not able meeting khushi's gaze.



Why payal is behaving like this. She cannot even see in khush's eyes and she is behaving as if she is very shameful of something and and akash also didnt seen to be surprised at all about all this. What the hell is happening here? Thought arnav.



"I will make tea for every one."saying this payal left from there. Akash was shaking his head slightly.



Arnav was observing this very keenly and so as anjal. Arnav asked anjali if she knew anything abou this with his eyes but she shook her head slightly and she was also looking equally confused and shocked about this whole exchange as arnav.



Payal came after sometime with tea and snacks. Everyone had it. Khushi stood up to go to the kitchen to have some water.

Arnav watched khushi going towards kitchen, so he also slipped from the living area and went after her. She was standing near the kitchen counter, drinking the water when he reached there.



"So, planning to shift your family in canada??"asked arnav.



Khushi didnt turned. She placed the glass which she was holding on the counter and answer him while slowly turning around to face him.
"Yes, so what is there to ask?"she replied calmly .



'She is looking so calm. This is not the reaction which i expected from her , when i came here .'thought arnav.



"Nothing, was just wondering that you didnt seem to care that your sister will also want to meet her parents, dont you think so?" arnav asked.



"Oh so jethji is tensed about his bhabhi, that is very good. See, this was what i was saying to anjali that payal will have you all and even she didnt have any problem. So you dont worry" she replied smiling at him and was about to leave the kitchen when he held her wrist. He thought that she will say something in anger but she didnt do anything like this. This shocked him some more if he could get.



She slowly turned around placed her hand on top of his , which held her wrist and very gently and calmly freed her wrist from hir grasp, all the while keeping her eyes on his face.



"Why did you stop me?"she asked him.Her eyes held no emotion in them.



"What happened between you and payal. You never said her name ,but you just took her name. As far as i know, it was always jiji for you. I can very well see that you are not at all behaving with her like you used to do before. What happene between you two?" her asked impatiently.



Khushi smiled a very cold and emotionless smile
and replied keeping the smile intact.

"You want to know what happened between us. Ok , i will tell you. But your question should be that , that what i came to know or what i realised that the bond which was there before between payal and me is not there anymore. Confused?? Let me tell you. The sister , sorry let me correct this, The STEP-SISTER for whom, i , at the age of 18 years, agreed to marry a bas***d monster for only six months, thus destroying my life and she...she didnt even came to me to know that why did her sister took this drastic step. So, that night i came to realise many things and among them one was that Payal Singh Raizada was all the time my step sister. So, now its obvious that we dont have that sister bond you know. Now you know the reason. So please excuse me. Bye arnavji. Goodnight." saying that she left , leaving behind numb arnav standing in the middle of the kitchen.
