Chapter 4


"Khushi bitiya! " Babuji called khushi the next morning.



"Yes Babuji"


"Bitiya come here. I want to talk to you about something."

Khushi came and sat beside babuji on the sofa in the living room.


"What happened babuji? What do you want to talk about?" asked khushi. Her face full of worry.



"No, no nothing to worry bitiya. I just wanted ask you that if you could come with us to Raizada mansion for dinner tonight. Akash bitwa asked us last night and had specificly asked me to bring you with us. I was not able to deny him. So i assured him that you will come with us tonight to RM." Babuji asked uncertainly.




"Jijaji has invited us for dinner . Thats a very good thing. I will be now able to meet nani at dinner. But babuji why are you worried about we. I will surely go with you all for dinner. Well there is no reason for me to deny and also i am doing nothing tonight."



"But bitiya if you don't want to go then you don't have to."babuji asked again.


"Babuji i am going with you tonight and that is final."


"Ok bitiya."


"Babuji ?"


"Hmmm"


"Can i go to chandni chawk today. I want to revisit delhi after so many years please? I promise i will come in the evening to go to RM."



"HA, ha, ofcourse bitiya you dont have to ask me. Visit you city bitiya. I am sure the shopkeepers of chandni chawk will be very happy to see you again. The craziest girl they have ever seen."



"Babuji i am not as crazy as you think"

Babuji just laughed at her more.

"I am going now bye."
saying that khushi went out of the house grabing her purse."


EVENING TIME AT RM


"Jp , Hp . Everything should be made perfectly and i want jalebies perfectly made. Its for khushi. Nothing should be wrong in it." instructed anjali.

" Anjali bitiya dont worry everything will be fine" nani said.



"But nani, khushiji is coming to visit us after so many years. I want to make this dinner memorable for her."


"Anjali bitiya but what about chotey. Have you talked to him? He should not do anything stupid in front of khushi bitiya. He must behave nicely tonight."said nani in stern voice.



"Nani you dont worry . I have talked to him about this and he dosent have any problem "


"Then it is good."



It was almost the dinner time when the bell of raizada house rang.

'Now finaly i will get to see her.'thought arnav.


Hp opened the door and guptas entered. Arnav watched everyone except khushi entering RM. His hope died at the thought that khushi at last didnt come for dinner. But only after few seconds he get hear what he wanted to hear for that last two years. The same sound of payal and her voice. It brought life within him.


"Babuji amma wait for me."Shouted khushi and entered the house.


Arnav sucked in breadth after seeing her. She looks absolutely the same, akash was right. She hasnt changed at all but only in the appearance only. Thought arnav.



Khushi met everyone in the family happily and sat next to anjali on the dinning table happily chatting with anjali and nani.



All the while arnav was just only watching her. Then suddenly she called him.



"Arnavji namaste. I am sorry i didnt greet you . I was kinda get on in chatting with anjali." said khushi.


Everybody went silent on the dinning table and was now staring at arnav.




Now arnav was shocked of two things. First khushi is talking to him as casually as one person could get with a mere known person and second that she has referred di as anjali which she have never said before.

When he continued to stare at her and didnt answer her, khushi called him again. Arnav snapped out of her trance.

"Its ok khushi." replied arnav still engrossed in his thoughts about this new kind of behaviour of khushi.


'What the hell is that. Khushi is acting so...so ...idont know what she is acting but i definitely know that she is not what she is presenting herself. She is so normally talking to me as i am just her sister's jeth only. That i have never been anything else to her. This is so frustrating' thought arnav while playing with the food in his plate.



Dinner went peacefully and now all were sitting in the living room. All were chatting with khushi and no one can tell that she is meeting them after two years and she was just here all the time. She is not at all uncomfortable in RM.


Arnav was silent spectator of all this. But he saw one change in khushi. She is behaving very differently with payal. What happened between the sister duo thought arnav.


Khushi was very much aware of arnav's gaze on her and on her every move but she dosent care . She is busying herself in talking with anjali , nani , akash and Nk abou the time she spent in Canada.
