Chapter 6A: Mere Haath Mein Tera Haath Ho
Rathod and Sonali start dancing as they are the star couple of the party!
Arjun walks to Riya but she keeps walking away trying to avoid him……He wants to speak to her, comfort her and ease her of her worries but…..
He wishes to ask her for the dance but as if reading his thoughts, she never gives him a chance to do that!

Riya is with Shree and Chotu and they are merrily chatting away with her while her mind and heart are far away from their nhok jhoks….
Though her eyes aren't even to his direction, they could feel his presence around her and she could also feel the warmth of his gaze on her…..but she didn't want to face him now…..nor talk to him…..she knew he had more questions which dug into her past but she couldn't reply to any of them….or perhaps she didn't want to reply to them and display herself as a sorrow figure in front of a person whom she ever loved in her life…..or rather still loves…..
She snapped out of her wandering thoughts…..why was she thinking of love now? And that too about Arjun!! She smacked herself for that rubbish and tried to focus on something else but…
Shree: arre yaar yeh Rathod sir toh chupe rustam nikhle…….chup chaap shaadi ke planning karli aur humme bathaaya tak nahi…..ek hint bhi nahi dhi…..
Chotu: haan Shree, maine socha bhi nahi tha ke aisa kuch good news hoga iss party ke peeche….hum toh Riya ke welcome party ki planning mein teh….lekin sir ne isse combined party banaadhi….
Shree: humein unnse ek aur party leni hogi…teen teen khushiyaan aur party bas ek… this is not fair na?..[turning to Riya]...kyun Riya? Tumaara kya khayaal hai??? [when she didn't seem to reply nor even smile at his comment, he called her louder] RIII…[she snapped out]…kahaan khoyi hui ho????
Riya: kuch nahi Shree….bas aise hi kuch soch mein thi…..
Shree: [concerned for her and places his hand on her shoulders consolingly] Ri, tum teek toh ho na??
Chotu also puts an arm around her shoulder " haan Riya…..jab se tum ETF mein waapas aayi ho tab se kuch pareshan lag rahi ho…..sab teek hai na?? ab humaare Riya nahi rahi tum!"
Riya: [trying her best to sound normal and casual] aisa kuch nahi hai guys….bas thoda sa dard hai sarr mein……isiliye….
Shree: Ri…..isse accha bahaana kar sakthi ho tum…..You are capable of that!…..anyways, hum tumhe sawaal karke aur pareshan nahi karenge…..jab bhi tumhe kisi se dil kholke baat karne ka mann karein, toh humein yaad karna…..hum hain…Anytime!...ok? [He holds her palm in his assuringly….she smiles and nods in agreement]

Chotu notices Arjun also looking worried and lost…"koyi aur bhi hai jo pareshan hai….lagtha hai unne yeh sab couples aur Rathod sir ke dance dekh ke apne ateet yaad aa gaya….."
Shree and Riya also look to his direction…..Arjun's eyes meet hers in those few seconds……
He had been silently observing the trio for a while now…though he didn't hear their conversation, he could guess what it would have been about…
He grabbed the opportunity when they turned around and looked towards him….He slowly walked to the group……
Shree and Chotu were a little surprised by his action….they were tensed too…..
"lagtha hai humaare paas hi aa rahe hai Arjun Sir…"
Chotu: ab inne kya hua? Achaanak humse kya kaam hoga?
Arjun's eyes were fixed on Riya as he walked up next to her….
Shree whispered "shaayad tumse kuch baat karne chahthe hai Ri….kab se tumhe dekh rahe hai….."
Chotu: haan mujhe bhi aisa hi lagtha hai…lekin, Riya tum kyun unne avoid kar rahi ho? aakhir chakkhar kya hai??
Shree: [sensing Arjun's hesitation from his slowing down his walk towards them] shaayad tumse akele baat karna chahthe hai…..tum unn se baat karlo…..tab tak main aur Chotu ek walk karke aathe hai!
Chotu: haan haan….dinner ke menu bhi dekh aathe hai! starters bhi le aayenge…..
Shree rolls his eyes at Chotu for that silly reply!
Riya: [irritated with their childish antics, replies sternly] No way guys…….chup chaap kadhe raho mere paas….yahaan se hilna bhi matth!
Arjun came and stood facing her…..After a few moments, he held out his hand towards her "Riya, kya tum mere saat dance karogi?"
Shree and Chotu were shocked beyond limits….."DANCE AUR Arjun sir???? Aur woh bhi Riya se khud pooch rahe hai??"
Those were the questions running around in their mind……but they just looked silently at the duo with mouths and eyes wide open in shock!
Riya replied after a few seconds of making sure that she heard it right…"Sorry Sir…mujhe dance nahi karni hai…..aap kisi aur se…" her words stumbled after that…..
But her eyes continued speaking "pls sir, why are you making things difficult for me?"
He didn't reply in words either…..his eyes replied back with his hand still held out to her asking her to come to him
"mujhe meri Riya waapas chahiye….. Aur uss keliye tumaari behrukhi aur humaare beech ke dhooriyaan mitaana bohat zaroori hai…isskeliye jo bhi karna padhe main woh sab karunga ….even if that means a little trouble to you RIya!"
Shree and Chotu prompted her to go ahead as they could see beyond the obvious in both their eyes now…..
Sameer and Sonali also stepped in noticing the unusual scene and asked Riya to agree for the dance….
So she couldn't refuse it further and make it an awkward situation for both of them….So she gives her hand into his……He cups it with his other hand and brings her to the dance floor….

She stood still without any expressions or not even the slightest interest in anything that was happening around her…..he knew that it would be difficult for her….He had to do it for her……He pulled her closer to himself and placed her hand on his shoulder……while he rested his hand on her waist and swayed slowly to the romantic music…..
There were other couples who were dancing around them…..But Arjun and Riya were miles away different from them…..She never looked into his eyes….not even faced him….she looked away while he fixed his looks on her, his eyes pleading "mujhe dekho Riya….mujhse nazre milaao, plz…."
While her heart replied back…."main aapse nazre milaa nahi sakthi……I don't trust my eyes sir….woh shaayad aapse woh sab kehde jo main aapse kabhi nahi kehna chaahthi"
As their hearts and eyes try to communicate with each other much to the resistance of her heart, they start dancing slowly…..
To the tunes, he swirled her slowly and held her back again carefully in the same position……

Though his heart beats reached her, his closeness stirred her, his breath warmed her up, she didn't respond to anything…..She danced like a doll…mechanically….she did dance with him but the passion was missing……She was controlling herself and stopping her heart from going towards him…..she feared this closeness….He could sense it in her mannerisms...she trembled….He smiled as he leaned in and whispered something into her ears……

That whisper and his more intimate touch made her face turn towards him…..may be that did the magic…..a magic which mesmerized her to his charm!

The music, the romantic evening, the intimate closeness with the man she loved, or perhaps she ever loved, the feeling of being in his arms were having its effects on her…..She was slowly succumbing to it besides the desperate efforts to stay away and get a grip on her mind, body and heart…..but she didn't realize that she was failing in all those efforts miserably….
There were tears in both eyes….he slowly wiped them away from her eyes……..He wished to wipe away all those tears and also the pain in her heart which was causing those tears…
In a weak moment, she lost the battle…..For a moment, she forgot everything…she forgot her past, she forgot her reality…she forgot that they were not the Arjun and Riya they used to be years before...and danced normally as he wished to see her dance with him…..
He wished to take away all her pains, erase away her painful past and rewrite their happy love story afresh….He knew it was difficult but he also realized that his love had the power to do it….
Her changes in the response to him that he had felt in the last few minutes of their dance gave him a unique strength and confidence…..He lifted her chin from his chest and wiped her unshed tears away…..Their hearts were so close to each other that they chimed with each other perfectly!

The music was over and all couples had stopped dancing long back…but they stood with her head resting on his chest and his hands around her waist protectively…..and his lips on her hair…their eyes were closed…..relishing the moments….cherishing the togetherness…feeling complete in each others embrace!
Oblivious to the surroundings, they stood like that till a huge applause started…….No prize for guessing who started it first…..
But that moment stopped everything in Riya….She snapped out and looked at his face with a guilty expression worn on her face…..She stepped out of the embrace in a quick reflex…She covered her face with her hands in shock….as if she did something that was taboo to her..something she never wanted to do….……
Her sobs stopped the applause abruptly…..tears flowed out of her eyes draining away all the colors of her already pale face………...
She rushed out of the not able to withstand it anymore …….Arjun was too stunned by her sudden withdrawal and didn't react instantly….but the moment she disappeared from his sight, he came to his senses and rushed behind her………
Shree and Chotu began to follow her when Sameer stops them……
"Nahi…..Rawte ko akele sambaalne dho…."
Shree and Chotu were now able to see the unclear picture……They nodded to Rathod and just hoped that all is well with their sweet dear friend!
