Chapter 26- last night!

One week they had been living together now.. she still had a couple more to go.. but they would go by just as quickly as this week she knew, afterall.. she still had her work commitments, so did he.. and then all the additional packing and the long talks home whenever she could manage it.. they had little time to themselves.. their relationship hadn't matured that much.. they were just more vocal in their feelings and profound in there gestures.. him because he didn't have to pretend otherwise and her because she allowed herself to express and feel things she had forgot she should be. But other than that their relationship was exactly the same.. Armaan gave her a lot of crap for this very fact.. he had said on the very first day itself and many other times before as a joke' that they lived as though they were in a marriage.. She was starting to see why now.. and even though she hated the stereotypes that surround a relationship she was living the stereotype.. she had always seen as herself to be independent and modern, yet here she was looking after the cooking, cleaning and the ironing, whilst he was dealing with the bills, the packing, the paperwork to move back etc etc. she doesn't like the paperwork much.. but it was hers and she was willing to do it.. along with cooking et al because that's how she had been.. when one night when neither of them were working, they got talking and he offered his support. She could hardly say no, when he put it the way he did.. he was good at making her agree to things she didn't want to.. or change her otherwise stubborn attitudes and thinking.. making him the best decision of her life. That was the truth.. there were no regrets.. even with the looming separation and other more serious family matters.. they both were happy in the smallest things they did at home.. even though in a new relationship, they were at home always after work, they didn't see a point in doing chores or even going out on dates.. they preferred staying at home.. talking seemed endless.. but then so did the growing physicality in their relationship.. it was all very teenagery in the physical relationship.. they spent hours on the couch making out at the end of the night after their talks.. Neither initiated to take it further.. there was no conversations.. it was a good thing that conversations weren't required or she would never be able to sit through one.. things like that according to her didn't require conversations.. verbal ones atleast.. the physical gestures were a conversation in themselves.. of that of the bodies and the soul within. And he understood that.. so well lucky her! He also understood a lot more than she ever said.. just last night after their intimate moments when they were just cuddling.. she had slipped into a bit of apprehension, she wondered how the loss of physical contact would work in long distance relationships.. afterall everyone has heard how hard long distance relationships can be.. and how most end up breaking because one or the other can't handle the loneliness and either gets frustrated or cheats.. she was just thinking along those lines.. she hadn't said anything and she certainly wasn't feeling the need to warn him from cheating on her.. but he just understood everything.. every apprehension, every hesitation.. and managed to calm her back down with one simple line distance doesn't matter if two hearts are loyal to each other" with that he kissed her hair and let her continue to hug him.. his hands playing with her hair.. resumed once again when he felt her let go of a deep breath.. She was ready to sleep now.. he was able to cure her insomnia.. well he made sure he was there till she finally got sleepy whenever not on a night shift. He'd been trying too hard in swapping shifts to fit better with her work timings to get the maximum time but sometimes it just didn't work, but they were mature enough to understand it and give other aspects of their lives the importance it deserved. She was glad they weren't the type of couple to whom responsibilities fade.. it gave her hope of having a successful future for the relationship.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"A chap asked a girl in a library, "Do you mind if I sit beside you?"
The girl answered with a loud voice, "I DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH YOU!!!"
All the people in the library started staring at the guy and he was highly embarrassed.
After a couple of minutes, the girl walked quietly to the chap's table and she told him,
"I study psychology, and I know what a man is thinking. I expect you felt embarrassed, right?"
The guy responded with a loud voice, "$200 JUST FOR ONE NIGHT!? THAT'S WAY TOO MUCH!!!"
And all the people in the library looked at the girl in shock, and he whispered in her ear,
"I study law, and I know how to make someone look guilty."
Laughter roared.. they were having a little get together.. not a farewell party because riddhima preferred a quiet hangout where she could talk to people that she had come to know in her year here..than to simply drown conversation with all the loud music.. and so her friends and armaans as well were invited to the roof top of the apartment that was available to the residents for entertainment purposes.. there was a bar.. couches, plants to decorate a rooftop garden, BBQ and lots of alcohol organised by armaan.. It had been a great night, it was her last night here.. Now only a few of armaan and riddhimas close friends remained.. the light music playing at the back.. the jokes, stories and gossips being exchanged laced with a few I miss you's' along with a few it's nice to finally meet you' from some of armaan's friends. Riddhima had already had a busy week and a super busy day packing this morning.. she was absolutely dead beat.. but refused to say goodbye and move back downstairs and get into bed.. so armaan had sat her down on the comfy couch.. that was half an hour ago.. what started as leaning onto his shoulder now resulted in her head on his lap on top of a small cushion.. his hand in her hair.. her face and body turned towards him when the cold wind picked up pace and passed the outdoor heaters.. and a shawl tucked to cover her whole body.. he didn't need anything! He had been drinking in addition to his already warm bloodedness unlike herself. So here he was enjoying the jokes and the company new and old.. whilst she slept away in her own farewell party..
But he was fine with it.. it was her last night and conscious or not she was close to him.. that was the best he could ever hope for.
I think we should get going man! Looks like you need to put her to bed aswell.. we exhausted her too'
"She'll be okay.. anyway she wanted this.. she said she had plenty of time to sleep on the plane"
He laughed remembering her counter argument when he had opposed the idea of a party/get-together.
Yea well she has a plan for everything aint it' laughed one of the girls from her work back.. he still had no idea who she was.. by the time he got around to meeting her she was already drunk and then there wasn't much talking anyway.
Ignoring her, his friend Liam asked. "You need help man, getting her downstairs..?"
Yea.. I got her.. just.. here are the keys, get the doors for me?' Armaan said first handing him the keys.. he'd clean the mess on the roof top tomorrow. He gathered her up like a child.. her arms around his neck and legs entangled around his waist, going around his body.. whilst his hands provided support in keeping her up from her bottom.
Time for goodbyes were within reach.. and tonight he wouldn't be feeling uncomfortable sharing a bed with her.. he just needed her close to him.. afterall she wasn't just a one I a million type of girl' but a once in a lifetime kind of woman. Those were his last thoughts, before finally calling it a night with her in his arms.
