Here are company names for you who give this perk...
kahan?? šThere are few more private companies, which my dad's friends work, which give this facilities to their employees...A lumpsum of around a lakh or two a year for family vacation...At least few I know which gives perk to the people who are in a decently good position are... IL&FS, many of the banks...What.. just one company??š but the way u were saying it as if every second company of India offers such facility.. and which indian bank?
Ok...whatever about mid class upper mid class...It's almost 10 years I left India and I just go there for vacation to my moms house...I just know 3 classes..š POOR, MID AND RICH...!šSee, that's why I kept arguing with u over it..
...Par dear, meri mom ki kaamwali abhi 10.000 kamati hai...! She does work in 5 houses, each work almost 500 rs... And her hubby 15,000 a month in a factory...!š...So, I wonder, what you call them now...? Any way, its the way of saying... I am not much into all this...indeed a mid class.. doesn't matter which profession they belong to, be it a kaam waali, a banker or a nurse.. if u earn around 15-20K in india, u would be clasified as a mid class..
No, where did I write, that Aliyah is not doing any work...She is trying, but her own way...She doesn't like it and that is it...She just is not interested...That doesn't mean every one is like that...I never minded helping my mom at home, while my cousin or sis sat...It is just I couldn't see my mom working all alone and I helped...And it is not that Avantika doesn't say Aliyah to do...In fact she has given all the duty to Aliyah, but Aliyah is not able to do, while Kripa just does it naturally...! So, every person has its way...And it is not Avantika who is asking her to do all the time...It is Kripa's wish...Just like it is mine...!Okay my fault.. I thought she doesn't do anything but didn't Aliyah tell her mom that I cant do all this, not my cup of tea.. I m happy in my job and I m busy.. she didn't make the rotis, didn't do the dishes, didn't clean up the kitchen, table, closet and if whatever lil she does, she doesn't do it properly.. and I won't blame Aliyah or Kripa here.. Avantika is wrong here..
Kaam wali concept is like a little odd to me, because till date I never had one, except for jhadu pocha in mumbai recently, at my moms house...Before that we felt no need as my mom was in good health and I was with her...! Apart from that, apna hath apni mehnat...! It's not always that we did not get one, but did not feel the need for one...And further I did not like it...They mostly don't do their work properly, many few do it well...Still same in US...No kamwali...šye toh hai.. chori bhi bohat karte hein..
P.S. goshh, just over one part, we argued so much.. I think I should skip commenting on the next part.. we both need some rest..š

Anyway, I will tell you about the banks, bank of India, state banks, IDBI, SIDBI, HDFC, Railway department offers first class free tickets as well as lodging to officers post once in a year to go anywhere in India for vacation of about 15 days, apart from various other perks, few insurance companies(Don't remember the name)But they get good packages, Pharma companies also give good package for higher posts or people who are loyal for more than 7 or 10 years..., In banks they give lumpsum to even average officer who works for more than 5 years, while private companies give after specific post...My dad got it after he became AVP, when he joined private company...The list is long list...These packages are given, because if salary is given more, it goes in taxes, while vacation packages, housing, other perks like gas etc. are tax free and benifit employees...That is the reason people prefer a little less salary and perks such as these, where they don't have to pay more taxes...I am so out of touch with many of my friends now to know the company names, but just come to know that they have been vacationing...!but actually this is the breakup of total salary that they hide it for tax exemption and named it as vacation bonus, rite? so if u use ur vacation bonus here, then how do u manage ur expenses in little salary every month??if these org pay the bills against the expenses (fair, hoteling, food) of all the vacations then they are called vacation bonuses.. if this is the policy then what is the max limit of family members.. for eg, if there are 8 members of the family and the min expense of Singapore trip is 8 lakh then will the org pay all the expenses or is there any min/max cap of it..
as for target oriented org.. those employees who achieve targets might be possible for them that will get lumpsum amount and for family too if they are just 2 members..
see, here in pak, banks and other org, give a one basic salary as a Eid bonus to their employees.. I m sure in India they also give Diwali bonus.. this is called a bonus, a luxury which employee gets other than his salary.. what u are talking abt is the actual salary and not something else that company gives u to go on vacation.. yes, they name it as vacation bonus to hide it from tax exemption.. and like I said before, if u use ur this salary for vacationing then how can u manage ur expenses in lil salary every month.. u already said.. even a common man can afford it, how come?? how can a common man afford to use this part of his salary for vacation.. matlab whole year preshani mein guzarey ga aur year ke end pe singapore/japan ke trips, really??
Okay as pak rupee haalat is quite khasta (feeble) thesedays so here it is more than 50K for sure.. but if someone has a large family of 8 members then what will he do? Bank gives u only 1-1.5 lakhs naa so it means this vacation bonus is good only for a small family of 3-4 members and u should also have a good basic salary then u can afford to use this perk for vacation..

this is so confusing.. Vamita, earlier u said vacation packages are tax free and benefits employee.. but now u are saying just opposite..
U said, we need to show our tickets, hotel receipts etc.. it means when u bought that tickets and when u paid those hotel bills they were NOT tax free.. later u claim it from ur company and it also means that they also pay those taxes.. so how can this vacation package be tax free.. here both parties You and ur org, are paying the taxes..
secondly, if u go on vacation then u get this perk.. but earlier u agreed with me when I said this vacation package is a break up of ur actual salary to hide it for tax exemption.. so if this package is the part of ur salary then u should get it no matter u go on vacation or not.. which is not the case here.. for eg, housing perk.. if ur org pay 15K as house rent to u, u will get this perk doesn't matter u actaully live in a rented house or not..
