Chapter 15
Maan watched Geet's every move since her confession last night. He wasn't so sure if he should believe what she said. Has she really changed? Is she faking it? If so, why? What will she get by lying to him? He doesn't trust everyone so easily not even his family members believing that there is always two sides of people especially when his status and money is involved.
Yes, he is ruthless and he could care less about feelings..his main goal, his main mission is to ensure that his status remain high. People should know who he is and what he is capable of and if this comes to some human sacrifices then so be it. He is above everyone! He can and will do anything he wants without getting in any trouble.
He has everyone at the bottom of his feet including the police force. Hell if he wanted he could get away with a murder without anyone questioning him. Knowing people and reading people always came easy to him but Geet...she is different. He can't read her thoughts which is one of the things that still angers him but one thing that can't escape him-her eyes.
He could read her eyes...he could tell when she is lying. Her real feelings are evident in her eyes. I wonder if she knows? The only problem is that he can't read her eyes right now...he can't tell, as of now, if she is lying or telling the truth but he has his ways. (he smirks)
He wants to control her just like he controls everyone else. He wants to have her near him doing things for him like a wife should without asking any questions now that she is doing all these things why does it still bother him? He saw her cleaning the living room while he stared at her. She hasn't really said a word, once or twice she would argue with him but nothing major but still it wasn't enough in his eyes.
Geet could feel his eyes on her, he has been watching her every move the whole day. She tried to be normal with him arguing whenever she thought it was necessary but still she could see the doubt in his eyes for her. She needed to do something to make him believe that she has changed. She stops cleaning and thinks about their kiss yesterday. She didn't hate him when she kissed him back..there was some kind of feelings for that monster..can it be? How can she have feelings for him other then hatred? Can it be possible?
"Geet come here..." She looks at Maan who was motioning her to come close to him. She drops everything to stand in front of him. He points toward his lap patting it to let her know she has to sit on his lap..."Sit"
Geet (Looks at him and then his lap..she was feeling weird...) uumm I don't want to
Maan: Excuse me
Geet: I don't want to sit there..I don't like it
Maan: You don't want to sit on your husbands lap? (he stands up) Then who's lap would you rather sit on? (he holds her arm with anger...she tried to loosen his grip but that only made him tighten his hold on her...)
Geet: Why are you doing this to me? I told you I have changed...
Maan: If you have changed then you would sit on my lap
Geet: What will that accomplish?
Maan: That doesn't matter...(he caresses her face gently and then holds her cheeks with anger...) DON'T question me just DO what I SAY! (she nodes her head...Maan sits on the couch waiting for Geet to sit on his lap as well. She slowly sits on his lap feeling uncomfortable...she avoids looking at him Maan noticed) Look at me! (She slowly raises her eyes to look at him..both look into each other's eyes searching for answers to their questions. Geet looks away unable to look into his eyes...) What happened? (he smirks) What did you see in my eyes Geet?
Geet: Darkness...you are filled with darkness..no emotions
Maan (laughs): Glad to know you can read my eyes...do you know what I see in your eyes? (he touches her eyes with his hand...) I see emotion...(she opens her eyes and looks at him) hatred for me, love for my Dadima and Vicky, love for your mother BUT there is something else I see as well (her heart races fast..has she been caught...her mother always had told her that her eyes gave away everything...she couldn't lie to save herself...)
You know what else I see? (she nodes her head no) I see...(he stops in between and puts his head on top of her chest when he heard her heartbeat increase in the silent room.) It looks like your heart is going to pop out of your chest if it beats this fast...(he smirks..Geet gets off of his lap to run away but Maan caught her hand the minute she got off) What happened Geet?
Geet (looks at him) I have to go
Maan: I haven't given you permission yet to leave
Geet (snatches her hand away from him with anger) If you DON'T believe me that I am trying to change then that is not my problem. What do you want me to do to prove it to you? Sometimes you need to trust someone, trust what they say not question everything
Maan (stands up) okay Geet if you want me to trust you that you have changed. Fine then I trust you. (She looks at him shocked) After all you are my wife right at the end of the day. And am not as mean as everyone says I am..really...I should learn to trust you BUT I only give ONE chance! (he holds her by her two arms pulling her with anger toward him)
IF YOU DO ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING AT ALL THAT WILL BREAK MY TRUST THEN THAT WILL BE THE END OF YOU! NO ONE WILL KNOW WHERE YOU DISAPPEARED TO! Understand! (She shakes her head yes..he smiles and pats her cheeks before leaving..)
Am I doing the right thing? Can I escape from him at all? What will he do after the truth comes out? Babaji please help me in this. I never wanted anything bad for anyone not even for my own father who left us long time ago. I never gave pain to anyone in my life then why me? What kind of test are you putting me through Babaji? Why did he come into my life? Why? (She falls on her knees crying...)
Maan goes to his room with a smirk..."Trust...Ha...she wanted trust so I gave it to her BUT" (he picks up a picture of Geet) but lets see how she keeps my trust or how she (he drops the frame on the floor breaking the glass into tiny pieces...he bends down on his knee picking up one glass piece looking at it) or how she breaks it (he smashes the glass on the floor with his foot with a smile...) ]

Okay I know this might be "too short" but just bare with me for couple of days...to get back into my groove 😆😆😆
I just want to say thank you to everyone for your kind wishes! I am better now and can finally eat..that was the only thing that was getting me worried since I am a foodie😆😆 No more soup diet for me hehehe
Also, I want to congraulate Ansrah (sorry if misspelled it) I found out that you wrote a book based on Maaneet "Devil's Desire" woohooo CONGRATS!!!!!!!! Even though I live in USA I hope I am able to put my order through for the book! I can't wait to read it! Now am glad that I didn't read your fan fic just yet!😳 CONGRATS AGAIN!!!!!!
