Part 14

Late night...

There wasn't a single sign of sleep in her eyes...she strolled back and forth towards her bed... "why this night seems so deserted like my heart"

She stood at the window while the stars in the sky seemed tantalizing her...cool breeze from outside blowed her face...she closed her eyes " you are a stranger who has plundered my heart..."

Veer woke up in the middle of the night...bewitchery was perturbing him "i am sure something is happening to you as well" he got up from his bed and ambled downstairs...he wasn't amazed to see the lights on...she was awake...

As he opened the door a little she immediately turned behind to scan at the door... "Veer" '.his sudden reaction astounded her...

He admired at her while coming closer... her hands tightly squeezed the window frames, her body marked with jittering movements... she didn't obstructed... "the scented breezes have called me here" he said while keeping his gaze constant at her'..

with dreamy eyes she looked at him... "you shouldn't have come here"

Veer crossed his arms and leaned his head against the wall and gazed at the beauty whose victim he had become way back... "Chandni...you have come here by mistake"

Chandni glanced confusedly at his statement "mistake...i don't know what you mean?"

His hand grazed her hand that was clutched strongly against the window frame... "there can't be another one in the whole universe"

Chandni smiled a little and was about to turn the other side when he touched her soft fingers with his hand... "the land of fairies from heaven are missing its queen"

She didn't look at him... his hand slowly entangled her hand...it was gentle...he slowly pulled her towards himself...with the passing night they stood in front of each other with a little distance that was difficult to remove...finally she managed to look into his deep eyes...her dreamy eyes made him come more closer to her...

He touched her silk tresses with his hand...then slowly stroked her cheeks with his fingers...Chandni closed her eyes... he looked at her pink lips that seemed to be the most beautiful thing he had ever seen...

He wanted to feel her lips...her eyes were shut tightly...as he came forward to kiss her... she immediately opened her eyes and realized what she was doing...with cold hands she picked up a stole and wrapped it around her nervous body...though she didn't say anything to him, it was clear from her face that she wanted him to stay... he walked outside without saying anything to her...

Even though he left hours back...she was still sitting silently on the bed...there was something strange about him...how could she every time let him come closer to her.

Why does she forget everything with his touch... she was unsure of what to do...her life had come to a point where she had to make a decision or she must leave this place and go back to her normal life and never see him again... it wasn't easy, even the thought of it seemed pricking her sharply...

Veer didn't planned anything...it was very unusual for him to approach a girl in this manner...something was killing him...some thoughts were prevailing his mind...

"remember, she has such a beauty, that you won't be able to stand it. The moment you will touch her, keep in mind you will burn..."

he drank the whole bottle in one go...but still the thoughts were wandering...

"when beauty is revealed, that time is incomparable...one loses sense of oneself, even the one in command of his senses loses them."

nothing helped...he wanted to ask her...he was tired of of himself...he was clueless about his feelings for her...it seemed someone was dragging him towards her and at the same time someone was pulling him away from her...the night seemed to be longer for both of them...

Next Day

It was the third time when Kaka tried to ring his friend who lived in Ladakh to find out about the language written on the map.

Bhuvan had a good experience over the old languages, he was good at telling fortunes, Kaka remembered once when he saw him years ago...

He knew he joined some monks and lived in an old Buddhist temple...he tried to recollect his whereabouts...

Kaka was sure that Bhuvan could find out some solution for Veer's fate...he can never see him dying in front of his own eyes...

Manohar was not thinking so much...but he thought Kaka believed all these old stories that were created by some group of fools about hundred years ago...

Manohar was worried if this story comes out to be true then Veer would... he stopped and then smiled "I don't understand why is Kaka so much worried" he thought and rushed to Kaka's room...

He smiled while the old man panicked every single minute while searching his old bag to find his friends address... "Kaka...now forget your worries, I have a perfect solution for this major problem"

Kaka paid no heed... "what?"

Manohar smiled broadly "well its simple...you must give an advertisement in newspapers"

Kaka was confused "newspapers??? advertisement??? but for what??"

Manohar "Kaka...anybody can fool you...you can't understand simple things"

Kaka was getting furious now "will you utter something other than your useless nonsense"

Manohar excitedly looked at the old man "Here we go" he said while stretching his hands

"we need a girl with pure heart, mind and body...no dirty girls...to marry the royal heir, and save his life... that can come on the front page with Veer's photograph"

Kaka was angry at Manohar "you half witted man...get lost...you and your useless ideas will surely give me heart attack one day"

Manohar's broad smile vanished away "why?? this is the short and best way to save Veer...if you think he's dying...i think its just a story created by people to find nice girls."

He giggled while Kaka was red in anger... "leave me alone you mad man..." and pushed him outside the room...

Manohar took it very casually "well old brain will need some more brilliant ideas..." he said to himself and walked towards his room...

Meenakshi looked at her Mother who looked pale and worried... "mom, what happened ??"

Kamini was not ready tell her "nothing...leave me"

Meenakshi was irritated of her Mother's unnecessary problems... "mom, please tell me what is bothering you?"

Kamini looked at her daughter "Meenakshi you don't know when Chandni was born..."

Meenakshi thought for a while "what??? tell me"

Kamla knocked the door and gave a big envelope to Kamini "thanks" she said and opened the envelop... Meenakshi stared at her worried Mother...

Kamini opened the parcel...Meenakshi was surprised to the things in the parcel, a red thread, vermillion, a long black thread, a small holy book... "what is this mom??"

Kamini smiled in relief "i asked our family priest to send this for Chandni...if she ties this around, no evil can touch her..."

Meenakshi had too much of her mother "mom...you and your superstitious things...i am going..."

Kamini knew very well that Meenakshi would never believe that her daughter is a gift from angels.

Kamini went in Chandni's room and kept the holy book on her table. She looked at chandni's picture that was hanging on the wall...

Finally Kaka spoke to his friend, Bhuvan... he tried not to tell him everything on the phone and planned to meet him soon...

After some time

Kaka was happy to go and meet him...he started packing his things...he opened his large wooden cupboard and took out a black suitcase that was enough for his essential things... firstly he picked up the old box that had a mysterious fortune inside... he made sure he packed all the important things...

After few minutes he went upstairs to Veer's room...

"but Kaka, why do you want to go alone...i can accompany you..." Veer said without any hesitation...

Kaka smiled and touched his shoulder "Veer...i have an old friend in Ladakh...i want to spend some time with him...but if I take you with me then who will look after the estate...Chandni will be alone here...i don't want to put everything on her shoulders...i think you should please look after the work here"

Veer wasn't satisfied with his statement "but I can't let you go alone...how will you manage everything...i...i must send someone with you"

Kaka didn't know what to say "i don't think there is any need...but if you insist I can take Manohar along with me..."

Veer was relaxed "yes...that's a good idea...i will ask Manohar to go with you"

Kaka remembered "Veer...please make sure you eat on time...and if possible please help Chandni...i know it will be too much work for her..."

Veer smiled "don't you worry about anything...and when are you coming back?"

Kaka thought something "well it can take us a week...i am meeting him after so many years...but don't worry I will keep calling you"

Veer looked at old man's worried face "what happened Kaka...do you need something..."

Kaka touched his head... with moist eyes he looked at him "nothing...don't drink so much..."

Veer wasn't happy about Kaka leaving for one week but he didn't wanted to stop him...

It was evening and he came back from the station after dropping Kaka and Manohar... he always liked sitting alone in the house but this time he wasn't happy... he turned towards Chandni's room...he was about to knock at the door, but another second he walked towards his room...

After few hours...

Chandni stepped out of her room...she was hungry...she knew Kaka had cooked some food in the afternoon and kept in the fridge...she opened the fridge to warm the food...

It was warmer in the kitchen...she took off her stole and kept it on the chair next to the huge sofa... she tied her hair with a clip...

She was about to pour some water in the glass when it spilled on the floor...she wasn't wearing her slippers and her long skirt got little wet as it touched the floor... she lifted the skirt and walked towards the other side of the kitchen to fetch a clean cloth...

After cleaning the floor, she arranged the food on the table... she sat on the chair and was about to eat when she thought about Veer... she immediately got up and without thinking she went upstairs and knocked at his door... he was reading a book when she entered the room...

"Veer come have your dinner..." with one hand on the door knob and other holding her long skirt...

"coming" Veer quickly glanced at her, then gazed at her from top to bottom...may be she didn't realize she was wearing a spaghetti top, her fair arms and shoulders were glowing making her look more attractive...

she turned backwards and walked towards the kitchen...

As he walked downstairs...he saw her sitting on the chair, arranging the plates...her cleavage was clearly visible... he made sure not to look at her...else he won't control his feelings...

she smiled at him while he sat on the opposite chair... he didn't look at her while eating... she was reading a book... both finished the dinner...

she took the plate and kept it in the kitchen... Veer wanted some water...

As he walked towards the kitchen...Chandni slipped over her long skirt and was about to fall when Veer hold her waist with both his hands while her hands automatically curled around his neck...

She gazed in his innocent eyes... he looked the most handsome man she could ever imagine...

She closed her eyes for a second and thought " I hope I don't make the mistake...i hope I don't fall in love...how do I hold myself back...please tell me"

For Veer it was like a dream...she looked not less then an angel... "your fragrance clouds my vision and suffuses my being"

Chandni couldn't think anything except his face...his touch...his eyes... "Ever since I saw you, what has come over me...what kind of ecstasy is this...i hope I don't get lost"

Veer couldn't think about the good or bad consequences " why do you invade my dreams. With your stares and through these long tresses that cover your beautiful face..."

Chandni was completely unaware of the world around her "i don't know, this storm raging under my breath...why can't I hold myself back anymore..."

Slowly he pulled her towards himself...she stood still for a second, "Sorry...i slipped over..."

Veer replied back with a smile "never mind..."

She smiled back and walked towards her room...

It was the most difficult thing for her...she was running away from her feelings, her emotions...

After standing for few seconds he went back to his room... though there was no sleep in his eyes... he wanted to ask her...

Chandni's hands were cold...she took a stole and wrapped around her... she sat on her bed...soon she heard the knock on her door...she had bolted the door from inside...

Veer was curious to see her...he knocked again...but she didn't open the door...

Slowly she leaned against the door "Veer I am sleeping..." she said in a low voice...

Veer wasn't convinced with her answer "i want to ask you something..."

Chandni knew if she opened the door...she would not control her feelings and it would be difficult for her "i will talk to you tomorrow" she said and closed her eyes...

Veer was tempted to see her...he wanted to look at her...he was missing her...there was something that wasn't in his control...he was hoping to get a fleeting glimpse...

After sometime Chandni didn't heard any knocks at the door...she assumed he must have left...she walked towards her bed and kept her stole on the side...

She simply lay on the bed and pulled the blanket over her... she lay on her back and closed her eyes...

After few minutes she heard some noise outside... her window was closed...she looked around...

To her surprise she was horrified to see Veer outside her window gazing at her...his eyes had the yearning, the thirst '...

She stood up and looked at him... there was silence... he wanted to come in but she was scared to let him in...she was scared of herself... the more he looked at her...the more he wanted to hold her...

After few minutes... he picked up a huge wooden trunk and banged it on the window... all she could hear was the sound of the window pane glass shattered into pieces, she kept her hands on her ears to avoid the sound...

He approached the broken window and slid his hand inside to unbolt it...she saw him coming in through the window but didn't say anything...

with his every step covering the distance between them...her heart beat increased rapidly...

With a fiery urge of passion that drew his body towards Chandni...he came with full force and hold her tiny waist with his strong arms...

He came closer to her lips that didn't say anything...eyes that seemed to be longing for him...

"How do I conceal my emotions that burn without a fire" he said with a fierce look...

She closed her eyes tightly as his hold was strong enough, making her fall for him...with full petrified paroxysm of desire he lay his lips on hers...
