I totally agree with @ nayika

It's not the writers fault if 9 years old parents are allowing them to visit these sites.

We're losing a lot of members who write beautifully because of this

sersiously this ff is not explicit the way the mods reacted is as if readers were being scarred for life
when in truth it is the most beautifully written ff out
and on top of it i don't kno muffin all that well
but if i can call my teacher a fag to his face for judging my short story for english class well then mods judging the ff i love the most on IF...

Second this request.

I would love to know if the mods do indeed read an entire FF before sending out Warning PMs or if they just take the word of one or two immature (and possibly jealous) readers before they make the decision to raise WLs or ask for FFs to be closed

Agreed.

Way to insult someone who has spent alot of effort writing a exceptionally beautiful piece of work.

There was nothing vulgar about this FF, so the allegation is completely shocking and unfair!

I as a reader am feeling incredibly disappointed, so i can not imagine how Minimuffin must be feeling right now!

You have all brought up the good point that what is or isn't acceptable has not been clearly stated. In fact, I am tempted to say that most of us probably don't have a perfect definition of graphic content, but we know what it is when we see it. That being said, the development team is working to try to create some guidelines that will help writers make sure their material is acceptable.

If you really pay attention to which specific FF passages we have had objections to and compare it to how many FFs there are in the forum, you will realize that we try to be as understanding as possible to make sure writers have some freedoms. Descriptions of physical proximity such as hugging and kissing have never been objected to, and neither have any simple mentions of sex. However, when we come across graphic and detailed descriptions of the act, we have to take action.
As you all are aware by now, the rule against explicit content is not something that we as the FF Development Team have come up with. It was decided by Vijay years ago and applies to the entire forum. You may not like the idea of censorship (I am also against it in most cases), but it is important to realize that this forum belongs to the owners. When you make an account here, you are agreeing to follow the rules or face the consequences. If Vijay wants this to be a family friendly site, that's what it will be. If you are looking for something else, there are many other places you can go. If you want the rules at I-F to change, well...you'll have to take that up with Vijay.
We as the FF Development Team are responsible for upholding the rules of the forum, and we are doing our best. We are open to further discussion about how explicit content should be handled, but we cannot make the decision to allow it. I hope you all can understand this.

BTW that is an extremely rude statement.

No business can afford to say this to its customers - especially not IF.

This forum is what it is because of its members. IF only provides the platform - all the content is member generated and they are the audience. IF makes it's money because of it's members.

And like you suggested, if the IF writers and members do move to other forums, IF will be the loser.

After all it did not take long for Google to replace Yahoo or Hotmail.

Can we all stop pretending this is about "protecting children", and talk about how some so called adults, with minds not willing to broaden, have the REAL problem here? Because that's what this is about isn't it? People who are easily "offended" and unwilling to just NOT read the FF... And NOT "innocent young people" who might be "exposed" to explicit content which could potentially harm them. Own your crap people!! And, stop with the pretense.

Who are we trying to kid here? I've never known a young person to complain about adult content, unless they're apple polishing, or trying to score brownie points. 😆

Agree completely with Janet Das. Let's find a solution. And, I second the request for a private FF forum within the forum. Keep it restricted. Problem solved.

i really don't understand the whole thing. I have read so many FF's here and have never come across one which could be termed as offensive. Specially Pandora box, i don't understand the fact that writing about love making in such beautiful words is ever offensive. If you are worried about 10-18 yrs reading and getting a wrong idea then it's time we learn that they are curious and they are gonna try to find about it hook or crook. And when it is written so beautifully, love making is not always gentle, it is sometimes driven by anger, jealously, passion and sometimes it is just purely love.

I frankly believe that writers should be given freedom of words, sex is not a offense and our society needs to know that. Everyone should be allowed to discuss and talk about it like we discuss any other stuff.

I am not writer but i know this kind of restrictions can cause a lot of de-motivation.

I agree completely... IF should be kept free of moral-policing.

Its a shame that Minimuffin's pandorabox was banned...Guess this forum is not meant for aspiring writers who bring out the true emotions of a story in an exceptionally beautiful way...

I-F has lost a lot of genuinely talented writers for this reason, and the ones that are actually posting the vulgar content, are still doing it even now!

I am very disappointed & angry to have found out the stance IF has taken over a beautiful & very tastefully written piece of literature (Pandora's Box) from the very talented Minimuffin86!!

I am shocked and disgusted at the short sightedness and narrow mindedness of IF over this matter!

I assumed a forum was a an outlet for creativity, but instead of nurturing the very thing this forum should be encouraging, you have today cruelly and viciously stamped on somebodies talents and creativity that springs from an imagination that gives immense pleasure to hundreds of your members.

None of us know the amount of time and effort it took Minimuffin86 to have written 32 parts in total so far in this superb story and she certainly does not deserve to be treated with so little respect to be just told to remove it. I hope Mimimuffin86 recovers from this insult & prejudice IF has shown her today & goes on to be a very successful writer, I certainly believe she has it in her!!!

If there are under age readers on this forum then that is a problem you need to deal with it and get rid of it, and not penalise the other readers who have every right to be here , who are capable of making a decision to read or not read mature content rather than the choice being made for us by deliberately belittling the creators & censoring these works of art!!!

I have read about making the posts non-accessible to different age ranges, I think this is an excellent idea and IF has to move along with the times and give its members and readers what they want & if that includes stories with mature content then you need to make provisions to make them available otherwise you will not hold on to your members for very long. I will be reviewing the amount of time I spend on this forum in light of big brother watching over us!!!
