Okay m like a bit nervous for this update coz the story slowly starts😆

Part 13 :

Mayank and Nupur came back home together after a failed date. Yup, a failed date.

Nupur had asked for this special date from him saying," With marriage, romance and love should not fade away!"

Mayank had argued, "It is not Nupur, its only growing. The only thing lacking was US having time for each other. With both of US working at tight schedule from quite sometime, time is all we lack"

Nupur had declared, "I don't know and I won't listen. You make the plan and I'll have all the time"

Mayank had looked at her questioningly. She never behaved so. What was wrong with her? She was being too moody to handle. But he knew her better.

Mayank had not only made arrangements for her but had also taken a complete day off for it. Booked a section of a sea facing restaurant completely for a good 2 hours and had got it all arranged with her favourite music, food and ambience. He was positive she would love it and after such a busy and hectic life that they were leading now, he had actually loved to do all this for her. He could bet he was getting one of his favourite smiles from her tonight.

He was all set, place was all set, message was sent too. But Nupur, even after replying that she would reach in time, didn't. He got worried and irritated and frustrated and the worst part was she wasn't picking up his calls too.

Just when it was 15 minutes left for the allotted booked time to end, Nupur arrived almost exhausted and panting. She looked weak too. In her office corporate clothes, Nupur tried to smile between the frowns that came up after looking at Mayank's anger.

Mayank showed her the place with a sarcastic anguish, the waiter brought up the starters as instructed and a soft music played up in the back ground with a spotlight on the dinner table for them, decorated as if a royal date and apart from all the classy arrangements, it all smelt so fresh with hundreds of flowers around.

Nupur took Mayank's hand and tried to look at him asking for forgiveness but he was hardly impressed.

They had a bite or 2 of starters when they were instructed that someone else had too had booked the place and they had just half an hour to change the dcor of the place for those people happened to have booked it for an engagement.

Nupur saw Mayank's temper rise and putting her arm in his, she tried to smile and said, "I just need you Mayank, the place doesn't matter" only to receive a dark glare for Mayank for she was the one who insisted on it and loved it too, but now things had changed a little. They hardly met at night, trying to console each other of the little time they got but it wasn't enough, not everytime. Nupur had turned workoholic too.

She had, not intentionally, curtailed her talks too. She was usually too tired whe she reached home to talk the way she used to. Mayank missed her sweet blabberings too much.

He always had this tiny little fear of losing Nupur, for she was too effervescent in nature and he was addicted to her so much that it sometimes surprised himself. A day without her felt incomplete and he had had quite a lot of those incomplete ones now in his cart. He never had let himself to share so much of himself with anyone as with Nupur, ofcourse she was his love and wife, but still thinking of the way she was so feasable in thoughts and very practical too. It made him think, for mind never stops, that she too might get distant to him easily as others in his life had, his Mom and Dad.

He never told himself, they already had so much understanding to think of it, but he still had a fear of losing her for she was like a beautiful butterfly to him, captivating him but not to be kept captive by him.

He always had this fear, not because he doubted her love, no not at all, but due to his past experience, he had seen it happen to his Dad. He was not proud of being a loner earlier but he was fine and now he feared it sometimes.

He hardly was ever so attached to anyone not even his parents ' he was not given a chance so. He did not know if it was silly and it was most obviously rubbished by his trust on her and himself too but that fear had suddenly grown today. He knew he was acting silly, even according to him, he was almost mad at her for no reason but this stupid silliness. Nothing got him silent and all serious unless its for Nupur and it had just been a few months to their marriage.

It had sometimes crossed in his mind that maybe her love for him may easily get suppressed, not fade, in all that she had now, a busy life of her own where he was at stand by.

Nupur was worried today, he had never gotten so mad at her earlier and she was just discovering this new part of Mayank. She wondered what was she supposed to do to make him come out of this silence.

All the while coming to home in car, Nupur explained how she couldn't reach in time and why she didn't get a chance to pick up the phone. An urgent work had cropped up leaving her to work under her bosses nose where he glared at her phone everytime Mayank called and had declared she wasn't going anywhere unless she finished her work. Nupur had cursed him a lot under her breaths.

Mayank listened to Nupur calmly and remained calm which meant a calm anger to Nupur. Nupur wondered how was she supposed to pesuade forgiveness from him afterall she had talked him into this and all of it was for her and she had been too rude to not turn up already.

As they reached home, Mayank parked the car, his hands on neutrlizing the gears when she caught it and said, "Mayank!"

Mayank took his hand off her grip and headed to their home. Nupur followed with quick steps not at all liking to excuse this distance forming between them.

Mayank went in to freshen up, trying to wash his anger with cold water while Nupur waited for him to come out of the washroom.

As he came back he saw Nupur head towards him. He expected her to say sorry but he didn't know if he could be stable so easily to let that be and he knew that she didn't know what he was thinking of but still atleast she knew what she had done today. Even he had cancelled a day of work just for her afterall. He gave her devil's glare which asked her to leave him alone for sometime atleast.

Nupur went away huffing a little but not for long.

As he sat down opening his laptop for some pending work he saw her coming with a dupatta on her head and with a small Bindi on her forehead. He was astonished at her look, she never dressed up so and what was she trying to do NOW? She surprised him all the time.

Nupur knew she had got what she wanted, his attention. She hated his anger and silence to her. She felt incomplete with that. He is fine with her and the world out there is the safest place to live and when not, well she ought to make it.

She knew he loved old hindi songs and so dressing up with still her work clothes on, she added the dupatta and bindi and went and sat near him at the edge of the bed and holding her ears in her fingers she smiled and sang,"Ae lo main haari piya,

Hui teri jeet re,

Kahe ka jhagda balam,

Nayi nayi preet re,

Ae lo main haari piya"

Mayank looked at her astonished and felt a laughter finding its way to him. What exactly was she doing?

He tried hard to supress his laughter when he realized that - when he had said that 'Nupur can make him forget everything else' he actually must mean it, coz his anger was gone pointlessly.

He still glared at her but soon Nupur realized his glare was lesser of a devil now.

His gaze demanded an explanation from her and she pouted and going upto him, she kept the laptop aside. Sitting on one of his legs, she simply said, "Sorry Mayank" with a genuine pout and Mayank couldn't help but smile slightly at this gesture of hers. She engulfed her arms around his neck and said, "I am really sorry Mayank and now don't you try to kill me with those killer glances to me. Your killer looks are enough for that. I can't handle your anger to me, Mayank. I am really, really sorry that I couldn't reach in time but please don't be so angry. When you're angry, see I end up acting stupid like I did now"

Mayank smiled fully at her words, how could he now be angry anymore on her? She had this magic in her, which was hard to fight with. He hugged her and she hugged back and pulling out she smiled and touched their foreheads together.

Mayank laughed and said, "And who said that I like THAT song?"

Nupur explained, "But you never even said that you didn't right?

Mayank replied back, "Well, I liked it just now"

Nupur flicked his nose and said, "See, I told you, you can easily kill me with those simple words and looks of yours" while her heartbeat, which he could hear, told him she really meant it.

He laughed and said, "By the way you look really cute in that small round Bindi, it suits you" and he kissed her cheeks.

Nupur replied excited, "Is it? Wow, I knew it I would have suited you in any era, I can already imagine you wearing those Amitabh Bachchan or Shammi Kapoor kind of clothes and walking by my side in freezing weather in one of those brilliant romantic songs. Aww!!!"

Mayank laughed and laughed as her imaginations about them went on for a while. She was back in her elements and so was he, forgetting completely about his unspoken concern.
