A Sudden Change
Of Heart
Prologue
He tightened his seat belt, and shut the window with a snap. The loud roar of thunder rang in his ears, as the plane jolted for the millionth time. He leaned into his extremely comfortable first class seat and continued looking into the file, with a scowl on his face as the air-hostess announced for the fifth time, for everyone to stay calm and not panic.
He smirked arrogantly, "Stay calm!! Her own voice is trembling with fear, and here she is trying to calm passengers down in an extremely normal scenario.. What's there to panic? FEMALES!!" his nose scrutinized in disgust, as he thought once more how nave and useless females were.
Yes, the murderous rain and thunder was ripping its way on the plane, making the flight deadly for its passengers. Yes, people, both in the first and economy class were praying to their respective Gods for their lives. Yes, people were worried about their loved ones' safety. Yes, people were scared, frightened, terrified, alarmed, afraid of death, of dying. But he didn't care!! Death did not come so easily. If it did, then he wouldn't be sitting on this flight!! No one dies so easily' life makes you suffer, endure every pain, every betrayal, every treachery, until every hope is drained out of you, but you still don't die.. and when something doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger.. AND HE WAS RUTHLESSLY STRONG!!
He shut the file, placing it on the empty seat next to him. Yes, the seat beside him was always empty, no matter where he was- meetings, flights, parties, dinners.. because no one was worthy enough to sit beside him. His train of thoughts broke as the air hostess's cheerful voice came over the microphone again, " Ladies and Gentlemen, we are pleased to inform you that the weather has improved, and we are out of any peril. We will be landing shortly at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. We hope you had a pleasant trip, and will travel with us again. Thank you."
He smirked rudely, as the voice in his mind said, " Fool!!".
He straightened up on his seat, his back rigid and firm, as he landed in Delhi. Maan Singh Khurana was back in his city.. ready to resume his routine emotion free life.

She kept her passport into her bag, as she slipped the key into the lock, and swung the door open. The musty smell tingled her nose, as she walked into her flat. HER FLAT!! The only place in the whole world which is hers. Just hers'not her parents' not her husbands' HERS.. She walked in looking around at the white covers, draping every single inch of her small and cozy flat. She placed two fingers on the white spread, covering the couch, and gently peeled it off. Small specks of dust flew into her eyes, as she continued walking and taking all the covers off.
When she had covered her things two months earlier, she had wrapped up this phase of her life. She had left this flat, with the intention of never coming back to it. And she had been so happy to make that decision. Until everything fell apart.. everything got ruined.. she lost everything.. a friend, her family, their trust, their support, their love.
Well, you're never gonna fall in love, so we might as well get married!
I am sorry, but you cant handle relationships. You're only good in your career...
Please explain everything to your and my parents... you can do that for a friend right?
Tears of agony blinded her eyes, as she looked around the finally clean and tidy little place called her home. A deep sigh escaped her lips, as she prepared herself mentally for the huge battle called life, which she had to fight all alone from now on, without her friends, family, siblings, and most importantly, without HIM!!
Geet Handa was back in her work city, Delhi. The place which was least close to her heart. The place where she lived all alone. To handle her problems alone, to endure the taunts and teasing of people, to throw away the old emotions, and give birth to new ones, and to pick up the shattered pieces of her life'
