He dimmed the lights and walked off towards the adjacent room that had a door through their bedroom to pacify his two year old twin daughters…saanjh Khurana & Chahat Khurana.

Geet watched him disappear into the girls' room and smiled, murmuring "I Love YOU" again and again under her breath and finally drifting off to sleep!!!

That day, Geet woke up early in the morning with a feel of light-headedness. She freshened up and went to the puja room and did the aarti and then took blessings from her father in law Sunil Sharma while giving him prashad. It was her usual routine since she had come into the house as Dev's wife!

She headed towards the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone. Along with it, she made 2 cup of tea and took it for her father-in law who was reading newspaper in the living room and took the other cup for Pammi, her mother in law to her room.

Then she prepared coffee for her beloved husband, Dev and took it to their room. They had been married since five years….geet had just turned 18 when her family got her married to Dev! Even though she was a bit young for marriage, she did every possible thing to keep her family and her husband happy!!! She loved them dearly and wanted to serve them forever and ever…that was her dedication to them…to keep everyone happy! And that was what her mother Rano had instilled in her since childhood.

After they all came to the dining table she started serving the breakfast to all of them. Suddenly she felt dizzy….she wondered what was wrong with her! Even when she woke up in the morning she was feeling a little bit dizzy!! Before she could even serve dev, she felt everything turning upside down and fainted.

The trio were shocked to see her like this! Dev got so worried….he immediately carried her to their room n then called the doctor. The doctor came and did some preliminary tests!!! She just walked out with a big smile on her face!!

Dev: doctor..kaisi hai wo? Use kya hua hain?

Doctor (smiling): aap fikr mat kijiye …khush khabri hai…aap pita bane wale hain!

Dev looked so happy…he couldn't stop smiling!!! He was becoming a father…how wonderful could that be???

Doctor: but…..

Dev (worried): but??? What is it doctor??

Doctor: she looks a little stressed out…u need to make sure she is not overstressed.

And saying that she prescribed some medicines for her and again asked him to take care of her!

After the doctor left dev just ran to his parents and informed them about the new member of the family!!! Everyone was so delighted! Later he entered into his room and saw geet sitting on the bed with pillows to support her back! He just gave a naughty look her and she just blushed to a dark shade of red seeing it.

He just kissed her forehead and whispered – I love you geet!

Geet just smiled seeing him so happy! Though it was an arranged marriage…she had fallen for him head over heels!!! She felt so blessed having a loving husband and such a nice home!

Later after dev left for his work, geet got up and started with her daily chores….do the dishes, wash the clothes, prepare lunch etc! while she was sweeping the floor, which she is not supposed to at this time, Pammi started her taunting "Pichli baar toh ladki dene wali thi par iss baar agar ladka nahi huva toh tujhe don't expect much from us!"

Geet was shocked to hear this….tears immediately welled her eyes….for a moment she had forgotten that she still lived in HP where girls don't have a world have of their own! She has seen girls being tortured and locked in the house since childhood! She had seen girls dying unable to bear the treatment given to them! Alas…poor she….in her own little world of happiness….she had forgotten that she was living in a hell where you don't have a right to spread your wings…provided you are a girl!

She herself was victim to such torture at her own house in the hands of her darji and veerji….but after marriage, she thought her bad days were gone..but no! it would never stop haunting her every now and then…reminding her of the state she was in!

She wanted to break free….she wanted to get away from all this…but can a god given lineage ever be broken? She was reminded of her previous miscarriage….ohh how painful was that to lose their 1^st baby…their symbol of love!! But least did she know that Pammi had bribed the doctor to reveal her the sex of her child during sonography test! The moment she got to know it was a girl child, she had set her wicked plans to not to get that innocent life into this world by any means and she did succeed in that!

Pammi's words kept ringing in her ears…the whole day she remained disturbed!! Somewhere she started to get a fear that if this time she doesn't give birth to a boy they will surely throw her out of the house.

Later in the night after dinner when geet was going to keep the water jug in pammi's room, she heard pammi and dev discussing something! She just stopped near the door out of curiosity..even though she knew it was wrong to do so!

Pammi: "Dev pichli baar toh hume pata chal gayi ki woh manhoos hume ladki dene wali hai to hume tumhare kamre ke pass ki seediya pe subah uske neeche anae se phele tel [oil] dal diya aur woh phisal gayi and we made her believe that she slipped off the stairs and had a miscarriage! But this time, am warning you Dev, iss baar agar usne hume waaris nahi diya toh hum usko uske bache ke saath mar dalenge ".

Another shock for geet…..she never expected pammi, whom she sees as her own mother could do something so filthy!!! But above all, she was more shocked to learn that dev didn't tell anything to his mom when she killed his baby...their symbol of love!

She wiped her tears and tried to compose herself and knocked the room's door! Hearing paami's permission, she entered and kept the water jug there. When she was leaving pammi stopped her n said "Tujhe yaad hai na ki meine tujhe aaj kya kaha tha???"

Geet who had lowered her head to hide the tears that had formed in her eyes n nods her head and goes to the the kitchen.There while cleaning the kitchen surface pammi's words kept repeating in her mind-- Pichli baar toh ladki dene wali thi par iss baar agar ladka nahi huva toh don't expect much from us……….Dev pichli baar toh hume pata chal gayi ki woh manhoos hume ladki dene wali hai to hume tumhare kamre ke pass ki seediya pe subah uske neeche anae se phele tel [oil] dal diya aur woh pishal gayi………par iss baar agar usne hum waaris nahi diya toh hum usko uske bache ke saath mar dalenge….

She cried loud covering her mouth with her plams…how could they do that to her? Was the love they showered on her was fake??? Didn't they love her like she does? It hurt her…deep within…Dev kept quite when he knew the whole truth…why? Why? Why?? She just couldn't digest the whole fact altogether!!!

After sometime she returned to her room and saw that dev had already gone to sleep. She went and stood at the window! Endless tears flowed down her eyes remembering the words pammi told n that dev didnt tell anything to his mother….more than pammi's words..it hurt her that Dev didn't do anything to save their child..rather helped her to get rid of it!!! She was too shocked and heartbroken!

The next morning her eyes were red and puffy due to crying the whole night. She did her routine but sunil noticed her red eyes n asked her "Kya huva beta teri aankh laal kyu hai???"

n she replied "Kuch nahi papaji …wo…wo..aankhon mein kuch chala gaya hai!!!"

A dejected soul…..a broken heart….a lost trust….and a helpless mother…

Days were becoming harder for geet! Its been only a week since dev left…geet started hating everything about him! His touch, that used to tickle her senses, now gave her the creeps…. His closeness and warmth suffocated her to no ends…. His sweet words of being with her forever and ever gave her nightmares!!! And above all, she hated him for leaving her all alone with her heartless mother-in-law!

Geet still worked like a maid….well not literally but almost the 7^th month of pregnancy that too with twins, working for even 5 minutes was like hell! No doubt a maid servant worked in the house, but pammi would never leave a chance to make her life a living hell….a torture!!!! And now she had started a new drama altogether….accusing geet of bringing inauspiciousness i.e her so called "manhoosiyat" to their house along with the babies!!!

She kept on hinting day in and day out that dev suffered losses in his business because of her…he left his old mother behind was also because of geet…and that they were becoming financially weaker because of this manhoos geet and her inauspicious daughters!!!!

How in the world can she ever hear the ill of her babies being a mother….how could she? Now there was no one to even take care of her…after they got to know she was carrying girls! No one even bothered to ask is she had even taken any food or not! God knows how she kept on living like that for the whole week…but she was determined to save her babies this time!!!!

Geet (selfthought): I couldn't do anything last time…..but not any more!!! I'll save my daughters no matter what!!!

And may be it was her determination and her motherhood that she was able to survive without being taken care of at such a critical condition!!! Everyday, she cooked food for herself, after making sure her in-laws were done, and helped herself with the medicines!!!

That day as usual, sunil and pammi were watching a news channel to keep themselves updated with the world around!!! Geet was just passing by when something made her look at the TV! That was the hottest news of the country they stated….THE DAUGHETR OF SOME BUSINESS TYCOON IS IN LOVE AND GETTING MARRIED TO SOME GUY NAMED DEV!!!

Her world stopped there for a moment….she forgot to breathe!!!! Her dreams, expectations came crashing down….NO WAIT!!! There are so many devs in this world…even though she disliked him, he was still her husband after all….her God!!! She still expected him to come back to her….may be that love for his child could do the magic….and it was that tiny ray of hope that had kep her from breaking down!!!

But did she expect a bit too much? Her world came shattering down the moment she heard the full name—DEV SHARMA, an emerging entrepreneur from Hoshiyarpur, Punjab!!!

Tears clouded her eyes when she saw the clip of dev going on his knees to propose that girl officially!!!

The little ray of hope she had harboured just a few moments ago seemed to get lost somewhere within the immense darkness!!! The last thing she expected was him cheating on her!!! she numbly walked ahead…as if uske sochne samajhne ki shakti hi khatam ho gayi ho jaise…

Pammi smirked looking at her…sunil felt sad because he loved geet! But he couldn't do anything for her as pammi had taken a promise from him that if he tried tospeak in support of geet or tried to stop her…she'd kill dev and herself!!! moreover, he kept sick most of the time…and he was selfish too…well everyone in this world is and he convinced himself that he was no exception either …so no harm!!!

Geet walked towards the couch…murmering, " nahi….this can't…b…be ha…happening…DEV….." her legs felt weak and body trembling…..she fell on the couch…..senseless!!!

She slowly opened her eyes to find herself on a hospital bed, with pammi giving her deathly glares! She blinked a couple of times to adjust her eyes to the light when she heard pammi asking her to leave!

" now since you know the truth…it would be better for you and your daughters not to step into my house ever again!! Endless tears escaped her eyes…lying there….helpless…dumped…betrayed….all alone!!! Where will she go now?? Whom to???

She cannot go back to her house….NO its was definitely not her house!!! Its that bas**** dev's house…Not hers!!!! Not anymore! But the uncertainity still lingers….where will she go now??? She slowly got up from the bed and walked out. There were no more tears in her eyes….no emotion on her face! She held her stomach and walked out on the busy road!!! Pammi was long gone….and geet didn't even bother to look for her!!! she knew her mother in law really well…atleast now!

It was nearing noon…scorching heat testing people's patience yet she wasn't reacting at all! She walked lifelessly till she heard the honk of a bus!

Immediately she turned around with the tiniest hope of getting her way out of this place…her mayaka…her own house! Yes….her parents will definitely help her out. She was having a severe pain in her back but still she managed to reach the nearby bus stop! But again…why was god so cruel to her???

The last ray of hope disappeared soon….it was the last of the day to her village….she had no money..not even a 50p coin…and above all it was over crowded!!! Her village was around 3-4 hrs by bus…but she couldn't have boarded the bus in that condition! Why her out of all the people? Why god was so mean to her??? What has she done wrong to deserve such hardships?

She sat on the nearby bench even more dejected!

What would she do now??? She was starving! Her heart cried…not because she was hungry…but more because her babies were starving! She sat all alone with tears in her eyes!

"Babaji…ab mein kya karoon??? Kuch raasta bataiye na Babaji….please…meri bachiyon ki raksha kijiye…p…Please" she cried! She was famished! Very few people around in that hot sultry afternoon…she didn't even have the energy to walk to someone and ask for water!

She closed her eyes and rested her head on the back rest of the bench!!! Is this the end? Is it her last moment? Is she going to lose her babies once again? She didn't even flinch with the thought! Rather remained calm….slipping into the eternal darkness…..never to come back again! Its better that she dies here along with her babies…..then they would definitely be in a better place…atleast better than this hell!!!! A place where no one would be there to hurt them….harm them….just love and care everywhere!!!!

PRESENT

"geet…utho…geet….geet…..are you alright?"

She was smiling in her sleep! She lazily opened her eyes and the 1^st thing she saw was HIS face!!!! The 1^st thought in her mind was HIM and the 1^st word that slipped out of her mouth was , "Maan"!!! Babaji was long forgotten!!! He sat bedise her and bent down to caress her cheeks!!!

"are you alright sweetheart? You were smiling in your sleep!!!"

She smiled naughtily and lazily!! She wrapped her hands around her neck pulling his closer! He gently lied on her, very carefully, avoiding pressure on her cute tummy!!!

"agar aap humesha mere sapno mein rahenge to mein smile hi karoongi na….aur sapne kya…. haqueeqat mein bhi!!!"

She raised her head and kissed the corner of his lips!!!!

"kya baat hai memsaahab…aaj subah subah iss nacheez par itna pyaar?kaunsa aisa punya kar diya humne jo aaj aisa inaam mil raha hain?? He teased.

She giggled at his words, " aaj humara dil kar raha haiaap par pyaar barsaane ko…so kar diya!!!" and she again kissed the other corner of his lips sweetly!!!!

He raised his head and looked deep into her eyes, "geet…..you are making things dangerous for yourself!!!" he said huskily…ohh god he sounded so serious!!!

But she was in no mood of giving up!!!

"acha?" she made a cute face, " I love playing with danger!!!" And that was the limit!!! He had been provoked enough! He smacked his lips right on her as fiercely as he could, sucking in everything he could!!! She felt breathless with his force but eventually gave in! how could she not? He was everything to her…in fact more than anything….way above her babaji too!!!

She opened her mouth for him to devour her while his hands misbehaved…opening the top few buttons of her nightie! He caressed her tummy and she smiled in that kiss feeling ticklish! They broke away when he buried his head between her head and shoulder, trailing wet sensuous kisses on the exposed skin!!! She shied…like a new bride and turned her head away to give him a better access!!!

He was thoroughly disturbed when his phone screamed loudly! He got up annoyed…cursing the caller!!! But nothing could have been done. It was important call and he had to attend it!!! He nodded his head and went away attending the call!!!

He was in his trousers and vest…just back from his morning session in gym when he saw her smiling in her sleep!!! And now he was really getting irritated with his client. There was this urgent need of getting back to her…holding her and kissing her till both could no more..but his luck…the call was getting longer…grrr…disturbing him…Damn!!! He walked to the balcony to avoid looking at her bare shoulders…now read with his marks left behind! She loked damn tempting with that wild look of hers…open ruffled hair, half unbuttoned nightie exposing her smooth skin over her shoulders…ufff!!!!

She couldn't stop falling in love with him again! How ironic it was…she was in a better place…no one there to hurt them…he wouldn't let anyone to touch then…he filled each and every part of her llife with his love and care…they only difference being SHE AND HER BABIES WERE ALIVE AND HAPPY!!! And this was what had made her smile in her sleep!!!! She looked at him again, pacing up and down the balcony, frustrated!!! She laughed at his plight and mumbled, " I found my angel…."

She moved her hand over the cute bump feeling the tiny life inside her and went back to that day when she had finally given up all hopes of living!!!

FLASHBACK

She felt something cold and wet touch her face!!! She struggled to open her eyes only to see she was still sitting on that bench in the bus stop!!! She was feeling too weak….somewhere cursing her fate that she was still alive!

"geet…geet…" a familiar voice caught her attention!!!!

"are you alright? What happened to you?"

She slowly turned towards the voice only to find her best friend Meera standing with a bottle of water!!!

"Mee….ra" she could barely speak. Tears rolled down her eyes….god is not so cruel after all!!!! Meera held her shoulders to support her while she somehow managed to hug her by her waist and cry!!!

That day when dev returned late! He was very angry and snapped at everything. He seemed really very upset about something. After dinner geet tried to ask him the reason! He had not spoken to anyone since he had arrived home….not even to his parents! After dinner, when pammi and Sunil went back to their rooms, she walked towards a dejected Dev. She had still not forgotten dev and pammi's words and her mother-in-laws constant warning. It was a very tough moment for her….kya usey in logon ka saath dena chahiyen jo apne hokar bhi use paraya kar diya?

She fought with herself…..why would she care for them after knowing their real faces? But still, somewhere…somewhere deep inside, being his WIFE really made her weak…especially when she loved him to no ends! There are some moments in life where you have to choose but a mere emotion called love has the power to change everything! So was with geet…she couldn't deny her love for him within a fraction of seconds…now could she?

Geet went near Dev and raised her hand to his shoulders…but stopped midway! Why should she? She is not his wife anymore…no more after knowing the truth!!!! She hated that word called husband-wife!!! Nahi hai dev uska pati….. aur ho bhi kaise sakta hai jab usne apne bachche ko maar daala…apni patni ki khushiyan ko maar dala!!! Still she couldn't back out from her responsibily! She stood behind him quietly for some timie and asked!

Geet (taking a deep breath in): dev! Kya baat hai? Aap itne pareshaan kyun lag rahe hain?

Dev didn't reply!!! He sat quiet on the couch!

Geet: dev???

Dev (snapping out): umm!!!

Geet (slowly): kya baat hai? Jab se aaye hain… kaafi pareshaan hain!

Dev let out a sigh…he was really very tensed about what was going on.

Dev: kuch theek nahi ho raha hai geet! Humari company kaafi loss mein chal rahi hai! It's a small scale company so the losses are really taking a toll on us! Market ka yun achanak shrink ho jana…hume supplies bhi nahi mil rahe hain!!!! Aur agar aisa hi chalta raha to we might have to shut down our company real soon!

Geet was really shocked to hear that. but you cannot do anything about it…all you can do is just wait and look out for the market.

Geet: kuch nahi hoga dev..bas kuch hi dino ki baat hain…everything will be fine. Don't worry. Aur business mein to aisa hota rehta hai. Don't take stress and please go and change.

Dev went to their room and geet followed. He changed and freshened up. But geet was lost in the world of her own! What if she had a daughter in her? Pammi will definitely throw her out. Where will she go then? People will not leave a chance to taunt her incapability of bearing a son for family happiness, considering the place she belong to..HP!

Dev passed her medicines and went off to sleep. She took it half-heartedly and lay beside him…facing away! Later at night..she again woke up….breaking down! How could dev do this to her? Why?

After a week dev took geet for her check up. doctor checked her and prescribed her medicines. Along with that…she also told that they were going to have twins and that she should come for regular chek ups as bearing twins is a much difficult task! Then dev dropped her home and went to his office.

Pammi again started taunting geet and geet silently listened to all because she knew it was not in her had to do anything as of now! This is one Indian wife…..even though they knew whatever happening is wrong…they'd stick to their in-laws fearing the society and the prestige of her parents.

That night dev returned late. He was more angry and even more worried bcoz of his company facing losses over and over again. He even shouted at geet as she served the dinner a bit late. Geet was completely shaken by dev's sudden outburst, being in the condition that she is in, physically and mentally. But she didn't show her tears to anyone. From that night geet's fears grew even more….what if dev does the same thing again? What if he refuses to accept their daughters, if they had them? What if……

Months passed on like this only. Geet used to take her medicines on time go for regular checkups also. Pammi's taunts had become a regular ritual for geet. But she could do nothing….just stay quiet and listen to all…what more could she do?

Dev's company was on the verge of closing. He became more and more rude day by day! He could hardly give any time to geet. As for geet, The fear of losing her babies was eating her inside…she had lost her smile…..she had become so empty from inside but she couldn't do anything. It was not in her capability…she stayed on like that just for the sake of her babies. Neither she could talk to dev about it…he would never support her..this fact was obvious!

There was no one to listen to her cries and complaints! She became lonelier as the days passed…shutting herself completely from everything and everyone! The only support she had was from her father in law, Sunil, who told her that he would be very happy if she gave birth to girls as he had already lost his daughter because she had run away from the house with the person she loved as pammi didn't approve her love. Pammi was least affected by that! usi shaadi ke kharchey se bach gayi thi na….

Today geet was happy after many days as she would be able to see her babies for the first time. Today was her first ultrasound test. But her happiness was short lived. she was accompanied by pammi as well. The whole time she was nervous as well as excited. Nervous because she knew pammi very well by now and excited because she will be able to see her lovely babies.

As the doctors left her and dev alone to enjoy the moment of seeing their babies, pammi followed the doctor to her cabin and pretty obviously asked the doctor the sex of the babies but doctor refused as it was illegal. But then pammi had her own ways….she removed a bundle from her bag and threw it at the doctor. Well in this world there is nothing bigger than money now is it…not even the law, not even humanity and not even conscience!!!

The doctor told her that she will do some tests and tell her. Soon the doctor did the amniocentesis tests on the pretext to check the growth of the baby and met a waiting pammi in her cabin.

Pammi: doctor sahiba….hume poora yakeen hai aap hume naraaz nahi karengi!!!

At this the doctor's face grew pale.

Paami: am waiting!!!

Doctor: well I did my job ma'am….she has twin daughters!!!

Pammi was shocked to hell…..both are daughters…she hated geet to the core now!!!

But the most affected was geet…she had come to the doctor's cabin for some dietary advice when she heard the whole conversation!! It felt like the nature was conspiring against her…making her hear all the truth that she wasn't supposed to know!

She was scared to death……because now she knew when pammi can kill her first baby and bribe the doctor to know the sex of her babies then she will surely kill her and the babies without anyone's knowledge and without a pinch of guilt and hesitation.

Pammi was shocked hearing that the twins wee girls but didnt show any emotion on her face n she thanked the doctor and left her cabin but by then her evil brain had started thinking of a way to get rid of the babies…she was worried about everything.

Later dev called at home and asked pammi to pack his bags as he had to leave for Mumbai. He had to shut his company down as the workers left the job due to non improvement in market and supplies. Their wages went all time low so they had no choice but to leave and look for another job.

Dev informed that he got a job in his friend's company in Mumbai and had to join from the very next day. Pammi told him to go alone as geet was pregnant and she should not travel in this stage. Dev was convinced because he knew his mother was correct.

After keeping the phone she called geet and told to pack dev's bags and informed her that he was leaving to Mumbai on an urgent notice for his company.

As geet left to her room pammi was happy that this time she won't have to brainwash dev's mind again to kill geet and her babies as she had to do last time when she got to know that they were going to have a baby girl.

Geet wasn't convinced at pammi's words! She didn't even like dev going away like this when she needed him the most! But she could do nothing…..dev would not listen to her!!! She was any ways broken…so there was no point in breaking further.

As geet was packing dev's bags she knew that now no one can save her and her babies. After sometime dev came home and directly headed towards their room!

Dev: geet…mein kuch dino ke liye Mumbai jaa raha hoon….

Geet (coldly): mujhe pata hain…maa ne bataya..

Ohh how much she hated the "MAA" word now!!! Did she even deserve to be called a mother when she herself was destroying another woman's dream of becoming a mother?

Dev guessed that she was upset but mistook it as her mood swings and his going away from her so suddenly.

He inched closer and cupped her face and placed a peck on her forehead!!! She hated that….she didn't feel anything now.

Dev: apna khayal rakhna jaan….aur medicines time par lena…babies ka khayal rakhna okay!!

Then he went on his knees and held her already big tummy and kissed it!!

Dev: apni maa ko zyada pareshaan mat karna okay!!!

And he left! Geet was left all by herself now. She felt so helpless…

Koi hai jo uski madad kar sake? Koi hain jo use iss andheri kaali raat se bahar nikaal sake…koi to hoga…..she cried all night….she skipped her dinner and medicines as well and finally drifted off to sleep!

The next morning geet freshened up and went to the puja room. As she did the aarti, she looked at maata rani's moorthy, closed her eyes and thought "Why god.. why do people think that daughters are a burden on this earth. I was daily abused by my family but when i married dev i thought that i was out of that hell but when i came here the same thing happened. There my family used to abuse me physically but here it's even worse.

Have i done any mistake by being born as a girl??? Then why do these people want sisters, girlfriends, wives and mothers when they don't respect us as women??? Why god why??? Mummyji herself being a mother…can't she understand my pain? She herself is a daughter to someone right?? Is she so stone hearted that she can't even see the truth?

Please god, help me save my daughters from this evil society as i have already lost my daughter once but not again. I will go to any extent to save my daughters this time. After all aapne bhi to maa kali ka roop dharan kiya tha apne bachchon ke liye!!! Mein iss baar apne bachchon ke saath kuch galat nahi hone doongi!!! Kuch bhi nahi…chahe ye kisi ko pasand aaye ya naa aye!!! Mein khud apne bachchon ki rakhsha karoongi…mein khud!!!!"

Geet: That day……

Past

Meera had breakfast with Geet and they got ready to go the hospital. After the checkup was done Meera sent Geet with Yash to sit in the car but Geet objected and asked, "Lekin tu kaha ja rahi hai???".

Meera : Geet main bas tere doctor se kuch dawai ki baat karne ja rahi hu

She said coldly and left. As she entered the doctor's cabin the doctor asked, "Aap toh Mrs. Geet Sharma ke saath aayi thi na???" Meera nodded and then said, "Mujhe aapse kuch baat karni hai." The doctor looked confused but before she could tell anything Meera continued, "Kya aapko feutus ke sex ke bare main test karna allowed hai???." Hearing this doctor started sweating and stammered "Kya matlab hai aapka???"

Meera "Wohi matlab hai jo aap samjh rahi hai doctor. Lekin doctor aapko pasina kyu choot raha hai jab ke aapke office main toh A/C bhi hai"

The doctor wiped her forehead and said, "Kuch nahi"

Meera got so angry that the doctor was not even ready to accept her mistake and shouted, "Aapko pata hai aapki iss harkat ke wajhe se ek maa aur uske do bacho par kya asar huva hai??? Nahi aap kaise jane gi aapko toh sirf paiso ki padi hai uske liye kitni bhi jaane jaye aapko kya??? Haina doctor".

The doctor got scared and said, "Mujhe nahi pata tha ke Geet ki sasuma usko ghar se nikal degi. Who toh maine………" but before she could complete Meera slapped her. Meera took a deep breath and said "Aaj se Geet ka case main handle karungi. Aap mujhe uski saari reports dejiye." The doctor nodded n gave all the files to Meera. Meera took the files n left from there angrily.

She then went to the parking lot where Yash and Geet were waiting for her! she informed Geet that from now on she was going to handle her case and then they left for home. Meera took every little care of geet in the best possible way!!!! Indeed god wasn't that cruel to her.

She then told everything that happened in the doctor's cabin and Yash came up with a plan to get the truth out of the doctor. He then made some calls & after finishing he told Meera that their work would be done soon. Meera even tried calling Dev but there was no response..they failed miserably!!!! Geet was ablivious to this fact though!

For the whole week Meera & Yash would take Geet for her morning walks. She also took her for yoga classes. She used to make her drink milk even though Geet made all kinds faces but she wouldn't listen and make sure that Geet had her food on time & took proper rest & also that she didn't think about Dev & get sad again.

One day,

Geet: Meera mujhe Palampur jana hai Maa – Papaji ke pass."

Meera was surprised by her sudden decision, "Lekin Geet…" but before she could continue Geet said, "Aur waise bhi main kitne din yaha tere ghar main bhoj ban kar rahungi" she had tears in her eyes. Meera wiped her tears and said, "Chup kar pagal. Kisne bola ke tu humare liye bhoj hai. Haan???"

Geet, "Jab aapno ne hi bhoj samjh kar bahar kar diya toh dusro se kya umeed karu main"

Meera, "Geet main aur Yash kya tere aapne nahi hai??? Aut tu kyu aapne asu baha rahi hai un logo ke liye jo teri kadar tak nahi karte. Acha tujhe jana hai na Palampur main leke jaungi tumhe lekin hum waha sirf ek hafta rahenge aur phir wapas ajenge. Mujhe tere Daarji aur veerji pe koi barohasa nahi hai."

Geet smiled, "Thhek hai. Acha chal hum packing karte hai."

Meera, "Geet maine tujhe waha jane ke liye permission diya hai uska matlab yeh nahi hai ke maine tujhe kaam karne ke liye bhi permission dedi. Samjhi ab tu yaha chup chap baith aur main teri packing karti hu."

Geet made a baby face, "Meera main thak gayi hu araam karte karte. Plz mujhe todha kaam karne dena."

Meera, "Nahi matlab nahi aur agar tujhe kaam karne diya toh tere pair main jo sujan kaam huvi hai na who phir se ho jayegi. Isiliye tu ab kuch kaam nahi kar rahi."and she started packing. In the evening Meera told Yash about their trip to Palampur and Yash also decided to go with them.

Next morning they left for Palampur after Meera made sure that Geet had her breakfast & medicines. It was a 3 hour ride from Chandigarh & Geet slept off during the ride.

As they reached Palampur Geet woke up feeling very emotional remembering her childhood days which she spent inat this place. Wehn they entered the haweli, Geet put her duppata on her head & touched Daarji's feet with much difficulty. Daarji blessed her & then Brij asked, "Geet tu yaha achanak kaise??? Sab theek toh hai na???"

Geet nodded her head & meekly said, "Haan veerji sab theek hai. Main bas Maa – Papaji se milne aayi hu."

Brij, "Lekin humare damad ji kaha hai???"

Geet, "Ji Veerji woh unko Mumbai jana pada kuch kaam se toh who nahi asake."

Meera was feeling very angry as her friend had to lie to everyone for her & her babies safety! So she decided that she would never bring Geet back to Palampur.

Geet then went to the kitchen &hugged her Maa! She had tears in her eyes seeing her mother after 5 years. Rano was very happy seeing her daughter with a cute bump!!! After talking for sometime geet retired to her room! She didn't dare tell anyone about Dev! In the evening Yash got a call for an urgent meeting so they had to leave immediately but Geet didn't go so Meera told her that they would came back in 3 days to take her.

Geet then had some fun with Rajji &Tito n then slept chatting with her Maa. Every one rejoicing at the arrival of the new members in the family…taking care of geet in every possible way!!!!

The next morning, Geet woke up &did some household work as her Tayji didn't like girls sitting idly…though she did light works only.

In the evening as she was sweeping the floor, Dev entered the house!!!! Ahh that aura…it was intimidating!!!! Geet was shocked to see him there unable to believe her own eyes……may be had come to take her back!!! she couldn't stop thinking…she went numb for a moment….her heart skipped a beat..maybe he has come for their daughters..afterall..no father can ever stay away from his own daughter hai na?? But did she expect a bit too much?

Dev met all the family members..he was cold…he hardly looked at her or even talked…he went on his own way!!!! Everytime he opened his mouth to say something..her heart would leap…she was just waiting for that moment when he'd say "geet ghar chalein?"

But nothing such happened!!!!! He came in front of Geet & said, "Geet mujhe tumhare sign chahiye inn papers par" with a business like face. She froze for a moment…..what are those papers???

Geet took the papers from his hands shakily & read the content!!!! She was shocked to see that it was Divorce papers. Geet looked at him…tears clouded her eyes……s, "Dev …. Yeh….. kya…hai???"

Dev, "Geet yeh divorce papers hai. Mujhe tumse talak chaiye. Ab main aur nahi reh sakta tumhare saath"

Geet, "Lekin Dev humare bacho ka kya???"

The land was slipping under her feet…no..this was not happeneing…the least she expected was this!!!!!

Dev, "Kaunse bache Geet….oh yeh lekin mujhe toh yeh bache nahi chaiye aur nahi tum kyuki tum toh mujhe ek waaris tak nahi de saki aur dono bar ek bhoj de rahi ho mujhe"

Geet was shattered hearing Dev calling her babies as BHOJ.

Kya ab yahi ehmiyat reh gayi thi uski zindagi ki..

Pyaar se nata toota to bojh ka ilzaam mila….

Brij pulled Dev by his collar & shouted, "Yeh kya tamasha ho raha hai Damad ji???"

Dev, "Yeh koi tamasha nahi ho raha yeh sach hai………."

"I can't and I don't want to live my life with such a badjalan aurat….jo hum eek waaris bhi nahi de sakti…"

Everyon was shocked to hear Dev saying something like that…..Darji and Geet's father Mohinder tried to get a grip on the situation but Dev was not in a mood to hear anything out!!!!

Dev: arrey aap apni beti ke bare mein jaante hi kya hain….pata nahi kiske bache ko humare pariavar ka naam dene ki koshish kar rahi hai ye…

There was a pin drop silence at that….none spoke..not a soul moved!!!!

But Geet didn't hear a word of what he said. Only the word BHOJ was stuck in her mind. She shakily took the pen from Dev's hand &signed the papers & walked away in a trance.

As she was about to go out Brij held her hand n pulled her into the house n told, "Daarji ab hum isse ghar ke bahar jane nahi de sakte warna biradari main humari naakh kat jaegi aur hume iss ko aur isske bacho ko abhi khatam kar dena chaiye."

She was shocked to hear this from her own family…..they were going to kill her babies????? No…it was so hard believeing them!!!!! NOT HER FAMILY…..they dragged her inside with no mercy!!!!!

Geet cried….pleaded…begged….did every thing to persuade her Daarji, Papaji, Maa, Tayaji, Tayji &also Brij Veerji to not to kill her babies but they didn't listen anything. Brij then went & brought a sword

WRITER'S NOTE: we didn't have the courage to write in details what geet was going through...PLEASE GO THROUGH THIS VM TO KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED THAT DAY!!!! PLEASE DO NOT MISS IT!

Geet (crying): maa..please…aisa mat kijiye..maa….aap aisa kaise kar sakti hain..

She could hardly walk…she held her darji's feet, "darji…mere bachon ko mat maariye..inme humari kya galati….nahi…"

Darji pushed her away going deaf ears!!!! She ran to her papaji…."papaji..kyun kar rahe haiin ye sab mere saath? Rokiye na unhe…papaji..mere liye..bhagwaan ke liye rokiye na unhe papaji…"

she cried and cried and cried..begged to no ends…but then..when her own parents were not even listening to her…why does she even expect others to help her out!!!!! She stuglled and wriggled to get out of the hold of her mother and tayiji….by the time brij reached them..she managed to get out and run away!!!! For her..the doors of her own house was closed on hers!!!!

She ran into the forest as she knew that if she went by the main road Brij would catch her. She ran &ran till she could no more!!! she sat below a tree…her pregnancy was taking a toll on her…she couldn't run!! Was there no1 to help her out today??? May be no…she gave a cold smirk…there was no one for her today….she was left all alone to face the world…. Suddenly she heard some movements around her!!!! her heart stopped!!! She was too weak to even get up!

It was Brij & his goons but Geet didn't have the power to move. They held her as she struggled…she no more cried or pleaded…she just stuggled to get out of their grip!!!! With one swift swing….Brij slashed her arm…she just smiled…that pain was so timid in front of all that she had gone through…..

he slapped her tight…and she fell…still managing to protect her babies..her back was hurt badly…..he raised his sword to slash her neck…she closed her eyes….a sudden peace surrounded her…WAS THAT THE END???? She could no more struggle…MAYBE YES…THIS WAS THE END!!! Just when he was about to slash her head off…someone just swiftly came between her neck and the sword!!!!! He held the sword tight and lifted it off her neck!!!

Brij was furious at this..no one dares stop him…his men attacked him..but he was pretty strong..he fought all of them single handedly..though getting wounds on him..but that was nothing compared to the anger and pain he felt seeing some goons mercilessly working their awords on a poor girl!!!! After a few minutes of fight…Brij was beaten up badly…and all made a quick escape before it was dawn!

Geet waited for death to engulf her……but her peace was suddenly interrupted by sheer silence….she was still breathing…was she dead????? A sudden touch brought her back to life…….

He helped Geet to stand up!!!! She somehow managed to stand up..still not able to believe that she was alive…who was he??? Why did he help her???? death was more peaceful than living in this hell…..she was about to fall when he held her from the back and one of his hands swiftly slid round her waist to rest on her bump!!!! And there was a kick..no no..two kicks!!!! It was the 1^st time her babies had kicked……. Geet forgot everything around her….her lips curved into a smile as she caressed her bump…the best moment in her life after so many days!!!! The man's hold was like a new promise that he would protect the three of them from all the harms. She just had that feeling…it was dark…so none of the two seemed to see each other clearly!

He then pulled out his hand & said, "Main aapki koi madat kar sakta hu kya???"

Geet who was lost in that moment was brought back to reality by the man's baritone, "Ji kya aap mujhe Chandigarh tak chod sakte hai???"

Man, "Theek hai chaliye"

And then a new journey of life began for Geet.

Geet, on the whole way was thinking about what turn her life had taken after marrying Dev & now after she was thrown out of her own house bcoz of him.

HE turned to the lady who was sitting beside him but he couldn't see her face as it was a bit dark & her hairs were on her face but he saw her eyes. They were of Hazel colored & there was something in them…what was it….he tried to understand..but only he could feel that he could drown in those eyes.

After 3 hours he left the lady at Chandigarh Bus stop & went on his way.

Geet took a taxi from the bus stop to Meera's house. As she rang the bell, Meera &Yash were confused!

Yash , "Meera dekho kaun hai??? Aaj koi anne wala tha kya Maan ke sivai??? And its so late at night!"

Meera, "Nahi Yash koi nahi anne wala tha. Main dekhti hut b tak tum Maan ko dinner serve karo"

Maan sat there listening…his hands were covered with bandages!! Ahh he had a hard time explaining Yash why he was like that but he didn't tell the truth either!!!!

Meera went & opened the door! She was shocked to see Geet in that condition…bleeding…weak..almost on the verge of fainting….. She hugged Geet & then called Yash, "Yash jaldi aao."

Yash got worried hearing Meera's voice…even Maan got worried hearing a painful cry from Meera..they reached the door! yash was shocked to see Geetlike that. He told Meera to take Geet inside & went out n saw a taxi & found out that Geet had come like this from the bus stop.

Meera first nursed Geet's wounds & then helped her to change while Yash told everything to Maan.

Meera then brought Geet to the dining table & asked, "Geet tu theek to hai... tune kuch khaya???"

when Geet shook a No, she served some food in plate n fed Geet. Maan had still not been able to see her face….Yash and Meera were so protectively covering her!!! all he knew was her name..GEET!!!

Geet after having some dinner saw that they were not alone andsaw that it was the same guy who had helped her…she had seen his face at the bus stop…and she was thankful to him..even more than that for saving her babies!!!!

"Thank u sir for helping me."

Maan then realized that it was the same lady he helped & then told Yash & Meera who were confused as to what was Geet saying. While Maan was telling all this Geet sat next to Meera & hugged her. Meera hugged her back caressing her back…..when suddenly she found geet not responding!!!!

Dadmia felt like having a heart attack right there!!! Maan and shaadi???? OMG…if that was ever possible..then she'd happily believe that the sun rose in the west!!!!! Maan..the Maan Singh Khurana and shaadi???? And how come she didn't know that at all? Usually Maan was so busy with his work..he hardly had time for anything else..and shaadi…she went numb like a statue!!!

Sumitra: hello you there Savitri? Aur han…khush khabri bhi nahi din a hume??? Mithai bhi nahi bheji..

Dadima: k..k..kya keh ra ho tum?? Are you out of your mind? Maan and shaadi???? And what khush khabri?

Sumitra: now don't try to act smart and hide it okay.. aaj meine Maan ko yahan hospital mein dekha..apki biwi ke saath…

Dadima: are you sure tumne Maan ko hi dekha?

Sumitra: meri aakhien kabhi dhokha nahi kha sakti Savitri….khair bahu tho bahut pyaari mili hai tummhe….aur ek aur baat buri lagi..you didn't even say that she is expecting??? What kind of a friend are you??

Another heart attack..expecting???? she was dumbstrusck now!!!! How come she didn't know such a big thing????? Maan had been out in Chandigarh for a week now..and he…OMG..sumitra can never lie she knew!!! They had been great friends!! Still she gathered wits to speak up!

Dadima: tummhe yeh sab kaise pata chala and where did you see them?

Sumitra: mein apni bah ka check up karwanae laayi thi hospital..mujhe Maan dikha gyneacologist ke paas. Mujhe shak hua and I followed him and saw him with his wife!!! Must say they looked cute together!!!

Dadima: aur expecting ki baat?

Sumitra (confused): kya Savitri..apne hi pote ki koi khabar nahi??? I saw her reports.. it said she is 6 moths pregnant and Maan ne tho father ki jagah sigh bhi kiya hain!!!!

Ok..that was it!!!!! Dadima can't take it anymore!!! She disconnected the call and sat there totally motionless!!!

Dadima: Maan..ye aapne acha nahi kiya…. I want to know the whole thing right now!!!!

At the same time, in front of the hospital, Maan helped geet sit in the car.

Maan: geet…stay here..i'll just get your medicines!

Geet: umm… jaldia aana..

He felt really nice when she said that!!! he actually felt it cute. He walked towards the store while geet sat in the car looking here and there. Just then she heard something ring. She wondered what was it!!! She looked around only to see Maan's cell phone beeping. He had left it behind. She saw the name flashing on it. It read 'RED ALERT'.

Umm interesting..now people had started naming themselves 'red alert'. She was in a dilemma whether to take the call or not!!!! A few seconds later the call went in the 'missed calls' list. And his phone rang again.

Dadima was seething in anger right now!!! Why the hell Maan was not taking her call? It never happened that Maan missed her calls.! She really wanted to know what was going on! He had never called up after reaching Chandigarh. What was he doing?

Geet saw his phone.. the 5^th call!!! She took a deep breath in..umm..it must be important she guessed and since Maan wasn't back..she could at least take the important message, if any! She could do this much for him atleast!!! She sighed and pressed the green button!!!!

Here Dadima was praying like hell that whatever sumitra said shouldn't be true!!! She held her bearth and that's when she head a very sweet, faint voice, "hello…"

As soon as Dadi heard the sweet faint voice she forgot her anger for a second…it was the sweetest voice she had ever heard! But then remembered that she had called Maan but why was a lady answering the call and so she removed the phone from her ear and checked whether she had called Maan only or in anger she had dialed some other number.

Dadi(ST) "Number to Maan ka hi toh hai toh phir yeh kaun bol raha hai" and then remembered Sumitra's words… Maan ne shaadi kar li…. Bahu 6 months pregnant hai…. and thought, "Kahi yeh Maan ki patni toh nahi. Awaaz toh bohut hi pyaari hai"

While Dadi was lost in her thoughts Geet wondered who was on call and why Maan had saved the number as "RED ALERT". She again said, "Umm… Hello" which brought Dadi out of her thoughts and she said, "Umm… Hello ji kya yeh Maan ka phone hai???"

Geet, "Ji yeh unka hi phone hai lekin aap kaun???"

Dadi, "Ji main Maan ki Dadi baat kar rahi hu par kya aap bata sakti hai ke aap kaun hai???"
Geet was shocked to know that Maan had saved his Dadi's name as RED ALERT and said loudly in her own thoughts, " Lekin Maan ne apni Dadi ka naam RED ALERT kar ke kyu save kiya hai???"

but was brought out of her thoughts by Dadi's loud shriek, "KYAAA???" and remembering that Maan's wife was pregnant controlled her anger and asked softly, "Ji apne abhi kya kaha???"

Geet innocently said, "Red Alert."

Dadi thought to take Maan's proper class for first hiding his marriage and then his wife's expecting news and now Red Alert!! Maan was super dead!!! But here she was speaking to her bahu…so she had to be polite, "Aap ka naam kya hai Beta ???"
Geet felt awkward to talk to Maan's Dadi after her blunder but still answered so as to not show disrespect to elder, "Ji Geet…"
Dadi smiled hearing it n thought, "Kitna sona naam hai Geet aur awwaz bhi kinni pyaari hai. Manna padega Maan ki choice ko"

Dadi, "Beta Maan aapko ache se toh rakhta hai na???"
Geet thinking that Dadi was asking about today, told, "Haan dadi bohut ache se rakhte hai lekin who hamesha "Meri Princesses" karte rehte hai aur yeh dono bhi unka saath hi deti hai. Mujhe toh bhool hi jaate hai yeh teeno kabhi kabhi" she pouted, complaining cutely.

Dadi smiled wider hearing Geet's cribbings and said, "Arre yeh toh bohut galat baat hai. Koi baat nahi agar Maan phir kabhi aisa karte hai toh hame batayega . Hum unki achi tarah se khabar lenge."

Geet became happy and said, "Ji Dadi" but then bit her tongue and said, "Sorry maine aapko Dadi kaha Auntyji"
Dadi, "Arre isme sorry ki kya baat hai jaise hum Maan ki Dadi hai waise hi aapki bhi Dadi hai"

Geet smiled sadly at how Dadi accepted her as her family even though she was a total stranger to her while her family with whom she spent her whole life tried to kill her and her husband with whom she spent the most precious moments of her life left her for another woman and money. She was about to ask Dadi why all this happened to her when she saw Maan coming with the medicines and remembered that Dadi wanted to talk to Maan

Geet "Dadi Maan arahe hai aap 2 min rukiye main unhe deti hu"
Dadi smirked that now she had got a chance to catch Maan, "Theek hai beta lekin unhe mat bataye ga ke humara call hai" and said in her mind, "Ab dekhiye Maan bte hum kaise aap ki class lete hai"

Maan sat on the steering and kept the medicines on the dashboard. Geet gave him the phone, "Aapke liye phone araha tha toh maine uthaya. Unhe aapse baat karni hai"
Maan wondered who it was. He was about to ask Geet the same but saw that she had closed her eyes . he didn't want to disturb her . he connected the phone on Bluetooth and took the call while he started the car and said, "Hello"

Dadi smirked, "Hello Maan bte hum Red Alert bol rahe hai"
Maan's eyes widened hearing Dadi . he was totally shocked when she said Red Alert and gulped his saliva knowing that now he is dead.
Maan, "Ji Dadi" meekly while Geet wondered, "Inhe achanak kya hogaya???"

Dadi was having a gala time hearing The Maan Singh Khurana whose voice could give anyone shivers was shivering today hearing his Dadi and said, "Aap kaise hai bete???"
Maan still in a meek voice, "Ji theek hu Dadi aur aap???"
Dadi, "Hum toh theek hai aur humari BAHU kaise hai Maan bete???"

Maan hearing the word BAHU got the shock of his life n hit the break so hard suddenly that the car stopped with a screech and they were literally thrown to the dashboard but thankfully they were wearing seatbelts so nothing happened.
Maan turned to Geet n said, "Geet tum theek toh ho na??? Princesses toh theek hai na??? Tum kuch bolti kyu nahi… Zaroor kuch huva hai chalo hum wapas hospital chal ke check up karvate hai" and was going into full panic mode.

Geet who was scared by the sudden jerk was touched by Maan's concern but then got irritated by him mentioning hospital and seeing his panic mood and shouted, "MAAN CHUPPP"
Maan forgot that he was on call with Dadi and glared at Geet, "Chilla kyu rahi ho Geet???"
Geet, "Haan toh aur kya naachu main??? Aap bas bolte ja rahe ho aur meri baat toh sun bhi nahi rahe"

Maan sarcastically, "Haan haan main toh yaha tumhari baat sunne ke liye hi betha hu na aur koi kaam hi nahi hai na mera."

Dadi was having a wonderful time hearing to the tom and jerry fight. She was actually imagining the day when her Bahu will be in KM with her and finally she would get someone who would keep Maan under her control.

Meanwhile in the car Geet hearing Maan's words started crying and Maan hit his hand on his forehead, "Ab isi ki kami thi jo ab puri hogai"
Geet hearing her angrily said, "Ab aapko mere rone se bhi problem hai kya??? Theek hai jao main aapse baat hi nahi karti….Hmph" and turned her face towards the window and cried silently. Guess…it was her pregnancy hormones that were making her emotionally high.

Maan ran a hand frustrated in his hair and heard Dadima speak, "Maan bete aap apna gussa chodiye aur Geet ko manaye. Pregnancy main unhe zyada rona nahi chaiye aur unka toh mood swing ho raha hai isiliye abhi ache se baat karte who chid chidi hogayi aur rone lagi."
Maan who had forgotten that he was on call with Dadi for a second was shocked to hear Dadi's voice again and then understood why Geet was behaving like this,

"Dadi main aapse baad main baat karta hu. Abhi hume ghar poochna zaroori hai. Bye"

he cut the call n turned to Geet and saw that she was still crying . he felt a bit guilty so removed his kerchief and gave it to her, "Plz mat rona Geet. Tum achi nahi dikhti rote huve"
But Geet was angry and hearing his statement was like adding fuel to the anger. she turned to him and said, "Haan main toh achi dikhungi hi nahi na itni moti jo hu main." She made a face and turned towards the window. Maan felt like pulling his hair hearing her statement. After a few seconds he heard her sob. He got worried as to what to do now. He remembered something and smiled. he took the medicines packet ,took out a chocolate bar he had bought for her and kept it in front of her.

Geet looked at it from the corner of her eyes,took it and banged it on the dashboard. Maan then took out one more chocolate which was bigger than the previous one and kept it in front of her again. Geet now couldn't resist as she wanted to eat the chocolate very badly .she literally snatched it from him, peeled it off and started nibbling on it. Maan smiled seeing Geet making cute faces and relishing her chocolate. Geet saw Maan looking at her and offered him a bite but he shook his head denying it. Maan sighed in relief and drove ahead.

After Geet finished her chocolate she licked her hands where the melted chocolate was and asked cutely, "Maan aapka kerchief dijye na???"
Maan stopped the car at the side and gave her his kerchief and got out of the car. hetook the water bottle kept at the back and drank from it.
Geet after wiping her face asked for water as her face felt too sticky. Geet came out n told Maan to pour the water as she took it to wipe her face. As she was wiping Maan was lost in her angelic face. He didn't know what it was about her…but everything about her just made him feel like heaven. he came out of his dream land when Geet called him she took her dupatta n started wiping her face.
his eyes couldn't miss that little droplet of water that stuck to her rosey lips. He gestured her showing his hands but she couldn't understand ,"Aap hi kar dijye"

Maan inched closer and wiped the water near her lips carefully. he felt current pass through him when he touched her lips accidently and withdrew his hands immediately.
they resumed their journey and Maan said after checking whether Geet was calm or not, "Im sorry Geet"
Geet, "Aap sorry mat boliye infact Im sorry"
But as Maan was about to protest she continued, "Ab aap kuch nahi bolenge. Mujhe sorry bolna chaiye tha aur maine bol diya ab baat khatam." she closed her eyes as she was feeling tired n soon dozed off.

Maan shook his head and continued driving. After 2 hours they reached Meera's house. As Maan parked he saw Geet sleeping peacefully .he didn't feel like disturbing her so he opened her side's door and carried her carefully in his arms. Yash who had heard the cars entering the parking area opened the door , went and got the medicines from Maan's car while Maan took Geet to her room.

Maan asked Yash after making sure Geet was comfortable if Meera was fine andYash assured him she was fine. Maan went in and freshened up and went for dinner. He saw Meera taking dinner for geet. He sat with Yash and both had dinner together.

Yash told Maan about the plan he and Meera had planned a few days back and how they were successful in it. now were waiting for the case to be moved to the court.
Maan in all the talks forgot about Dadi's call . after dinner he and Yash went and checked on Geet who had by then finished her dinner and had the medicines after making 1000 faces but finally ate it after getting glares from Meera. Maan,Yash & Meera couldn't stop chuckling seeing her making faces % then all retired to their rooms as all were tired with all the day's events . Geet slept off soon bcoz of the medicines but Meera couldn't sleep as she was wondering about the morning incident.

Maan was about to go to sleep when he got a call from Dadi. Maan groaned seeing it and picked it up mentally preparing himself to bear all the emotional atyachaar Dadi was sure to do on him and end the call as soon as possible.

Maan was about to go to sleep when he got a call from Dadi. Maan groaned seeing it and picked it up mentally preparing himself to bear all the emotional atyachaar Dadi was sure to do on him and end the call as soon as possible.

But as he picked up he heard Geet's cry from the next room n ran to her room to check on her. Dadi also heard Geet's faint cry n got worried. Maan rushed to Geet's room n saw that she had her eyes closed but she was moaning in pain with one hand on her back n one hand on her stomach. Maan went n patted her cheeks to wake her up. she was sweating badly..and she slowly opens her eyes to meet his.. she for a while keeps on luking into his eyes and then suddenly hugs him tightly crying, 'maan..they will kill us..save us please.."

he caressed her forehead, "geet..shh..kuch nahi hoga..no one will harm you..please relax..baby..please.."
he didn't know why but he had suddenly got very very protective of her...
it was as if he wanted to save her from every bad thing in the world..and even the babies...he sat with her for a long time, looking at her..she had rested her head on his lap..and held his hand tight! she looked at her innocent face..and thought..how old could she be??her innocent face looked as if she was hardly 22-23..not old... but why those people were after life..what was wrong with everyone..

his mind went back to the incident at the police station..she was soo scared..and so hurt!!!and the babies...he felt so connected to them...what was it that pulled him closer to her everytime?

Dadi who had got worried for Geet...wondered what happened to her that she was crying to maan to save her n who would try to kill her...it was all so confusing but right now was not the time to talk to maan..so she cut the call but she wondered if she would be able to sleep with all these confusing thoughts in her mind.

meanwhile Meera was tossing on the bed remembering the morning incident
yash who had kept mum till now seeing it was tired of seeing her in trouble sat up n pulled meera up n asked

"Meera kya huva? tum kyu itni pareshaan lag rahi ho?

Meera, "Kuch nahi yash main theek hu tum so jao."

Yash, "Meera jhoot mat bolo at least mujhse toh nahi. Kya huva tum Geet ko leke pareshaan ho kya?"

Meera sighed n said, "Yash mujhe subah ka incident bohut pareshan kar raha hai."

Yash, "ab toh sab theek hai toh tum kyu pareshaan ho rahi ho?"

Meera, "Nahi Yash tumne dekha tha palampur main sab kaise tayar the geet ko marne ke liye...Aur jaha tak main brij ko janti hu woh chup nahi bethne wala ab jab Geet ne Handa parivaar ki khilaf case file kiya hai.

Unke parivaar ki izzat ke liye jab woh Geet ko marne ki koshish kar sakta hai jab kisi ko kuch nahi pata tha toh ab toh woh kuch bhi kar sakta hai jab pure gaon ke samne uski bezati huvi hai."

Yash, "Meera woh kuch nahi kar payega aur hum hai na yaha Geet ke liye"

Meera, "Nahi Yash tum samjh nahi rahe...Dekho phele jab bhi usne Geet pe hamla kiya tab Maan tha toh Maan ne Geet ko bacha liya lekin Maan hamesha toh nahi hoga na yahaaur phir tum bhi toh din bhar office mein rahoge,..agar Brij ne tab kuch karne ki koshish Geet ko kuch karne ki toh?"

Yash, "Lekin tum hogi na Meera aur mujhe pura vishwas hai tum Geet ko kuch nahi hone dogi"

Meera, "Yash main hu lekin Brij kuch bhi kar sakta hai aur usse pata hai ke Main Geet ko kabhi akela nahi chodungi toh woh zaroor kuch intezaam karke hi ayega mujhe apni parva nahi hai lekin Geet ko hogaya toh main khud ko maaf nahi kar paungi"

yash was touched to see that friendship between meera and geet. he cupepd her face, "kuch nahi hoga..relax baby.. hum kuch nahi hone denge geet ko..pls relax meera and so jao..u r too tired.."
meera couldn't have slept, "but yash..how can...i.."

yash cut her off, "shhh... rest nahi karogi tho geet ka khayal kaise rakho gi..chalo so jaao.." he finally manged to make her sleep...but sleep wasn't a peaceful one!!!!!

maan woke up with sun rays falling on his eyes..making him uncomfortable. he slowly opened his eyes trying to adjust to the bright light from the window. He felt his stiff shoulders n his hands had gone numb...he then saw that he wasn't in his room n saw that he was in a very uncomfortable position n as he tried to stretch himself. he saw Geet was sleeping on his lap hugging his waist.

She seemed to be in a peaceful sleep oblivious of her position also that her slow breathing which was falling on his stomach was creating butterflies in his stomach

he noticed she was getting disturbed with a strand of hair which was teasing her rosy cheeks which had a different glow... he felt jealous of the hair strand that was touching her cheek n slowly tucked it behind her ear seeing her cheeks he thought how would her skin feel under his hand n caressed them softly. he saw her sleeping so peacefully.. he smiled and tried to move away..but she got disturbed and held his hand tightly in her sleep. he stilled for a moment and seeing her so disturbed, he stayed back...caressing her forehead..making her comfortable.

meera was feeling so weak from the past few days..but she ignored it thinking it must be the tiredness with all the things going on. she saw yash sleeping peacefully. she pulled away the duvet and suddenly felt her insides jolt like jelly..and the next moment she was in the washroom, throwing out.

yash woke up, hearing noises from the washroom and checked for meera. not finding her on bed, he immediately rushed to the washroom, hearing her puke. she was sprawled on the floor, her condition was worse..he supported her and helped her clean up. After cleaning up he carried her back to the bed and n lied her down n gave her water from the table side

After making sure she was comfortable he called doc n told about Meera's condition. Yash then told Meera about the appointment n told her to rest for sometime while he went n got some juice for her. even maan and geet were worried for meera too... geet still hadn't recovered but she managed to walk to meera's room and sit beside her. she had found maan beside her the moment she opened her eyes..and for some reasons her day couldn't have started better!!!! she saw meera all weak and pale. maan was with yash talking to the doctor...their joy was beyond anything wen the doctor announced meera one and a half months pregnant. it was such a beautiful morning for all of them..yash and meera...and maan and geet... nothing could be more perfect. Yash had warned Meera to take complete bed rest as she was yet weak n Geet had totally supported him n so Meera had no other go than resting but she made sure that even Geet took proper rest. Maan had to go to Delhi as his old project had got some problems n so he had to leave Geet here n go.

Though he was not ready for it but when Geet told him to go after she got to know about the problem he left.He didn't understand what power did Geet possess that he could never deny her anything.While Maan was away Yash was having a hard time handling 2 pregnant women along with his business.

Poor Yash had to run about with Geet's mood swings which she tried to hide as much as she could to not trouble Yash but then u cant always hide it..While Meera had started getting cranky n emotional a lot n poor Yash had to bear the brunt.

they didn't even realize how many days passed like that... things were seeing perfect and maan did keep visiting geet twice or sometimes thrice a week. dadima tried to ask him about her bahu.. but clever maan always found ways to avoid the topic. he didn't want dadima to know anything as of now.

it was one such evening when meera had taken geet for an evening walk in the park near their apartment,.with geet's big tummy...it was getting difficult for her to walk too. her back ached a lot and even her legs had swelled..but she tried her best not to bother yash or meera. they had their own little baby to look forward too. with maan not around..she felt very lonely..and broke down quite a few times.. but hiding away from everyone...she couldn't have bothered yash and meera..they were just too happy to see them so happy. sometimes she even felt a little sad..seeing yash care for meera so much..for their baby.. who was with her??? she missed maan terribly. it was one of those days she was feeling extremely low when meera suggested her for a walk in the nearby park.

it was slowly getting dark and the kids were going back home. geet insisted on staying out for a little more..she was feeling so fresh.both the friends sat on the near by bench...unaware of the trouble following them. As Geet felt the cold air brushing past her hair she felt as if Babaji was answering her questions.

She felt a soothing hand on her hand which a mother's warmth can only give..

she felt a caring touch which only father's protection can give...

she felt the giggling of air which wold fill her room when she used to be with Rajji n Tito...

As Geet was lost in the old memories of her peaceful life even in the cage which she used to live n Meera in the thoughts of her future baby. They didn't notice the rustle of leaves behind them...They neither noticed that the whole park was empty except the two of them.

As they were lost they suddenly were brought to reality when they were jerked from the bench by 4 men. Meera saw the men a unknown shiver ran down her spine.

Meanwhile the men had started pulling Geet away from the bench to their boss who had given them a hard time..to find Geet. As Meera saw it she started struggling but the men who had held her slapped her n she was about to fall but she didnt care for her the only thought came of her baby n she held her stomach so as to protect her baby. Meanwhile Geet who was also struggling to free herself n had looked back to ensure that Meera was safe but when she saw her falling she shouted, "MEERAAA" n finally freed herself from the struggle n ran to Meera.

"Mee….ra" she could barely speak. Tears rolled down her eyes….god is not so cruel after all!!!! Meera held her shoulders to support her while she somehow managed to hug her by her waist and cry!!!

Meera gave her water to drink and asked,"Geet tu iss halat main yahan kya kar rahi hai??? Aur Dev kaha hai???".

Hearing Dev's name all the events flashed in her mind and she cried harder. Meera not understanding why Geet was crying decided to ask her later and said "Geet tu chal mere saath mere ghar jakar hum baat karenge". Hearing this Geet denied but after much persuasion Geet finally gave in as any way she didn't have any place right now. Meera helped Geet to get up and took her to her car, helped her to sit comfortably and they left for Meera's house.

During the whole drive Geet held Meera's hand tightly as if to assure her that she would be safe now. As they reached Meera's house,the door opened even before Meera could remove the key to open the lock and she was pulled into a hug. Geet was shocked to see this but didn't say anything.

Mohabbat palkon pe kiTne haseen khawaab sajaaTi hai..

Meera after pulling out of the hug said,"Yash main theek hu. Tum inte pareshan kyu lag rahe ho???" Yash,Meera's husband, replied," Meera main kab se tumhara no. try kar raha hu lekin tum utha hi nahi rahi thi isliye main ghabra gaya."

Meera then turned to Geet n said "Geet yeh hai mere pati Yash" and then turning towards Yash said "Aur Yash yeh hai Geet meri best friend lekin woh uski family ki wajhe se humari shaadi main nahi aapayi thi"

Somewhere geet felt that pain…unbearable pain..looking at Meera and Yash….Dev's name flashed in her mind…kya wo itni abhagi thi??? Kya uske daamn mein khushiyan nahi???? Yash aur Meera ko dekh kar maano usko jaan sookh gyai ho jaise….. itna pyaar….itni chahat…

Huh…kabhi aisa bhi din tha jab Dev use beintehan pyaar karta tha…….pyaar…huh…sab to jhoot tha…fareb…dhokha…..

Yash "Hello Geet" and shook hands with her. Meera helped her into the house, went to the kitchen and bought water for her.

Meera:"Geet tu bus stop pe kya kar rhai thi?? Aur kya haalat bana rakhi thi tune apni??"

Geet - "Woh maine subah se kuch nahi khaya tha na isi liye" Hearing this Meera got angry n shouted "Kya??? Tu pagal hai kya aisi halat main theek samay pe khana chaiye. Tu ruk main abhi tere liye khana lati hu" and went to the kitchen.

Yash sat beside Geet and hugged her! She felt as if her brother was hugging her and tears welled up in her eyes but Yash wiped them away and shook his head as if telling her no. Geet smiled weakly at him and in sometime Meera came with food and fed her with her own hands.

She could remember Dev feeding her lovingly…..where was that love now??? He didn't even care about her…he just went and married someone else just because of money??? She felt so downright cheated…..uski kya galti thi jo use itni badi sazaa mili??? Use uske bache se juda kar diya gaya?? And Dev…jispar usne apna sab kuch luta diya…usi ne uska vishwaas tod diya…akela chod kar chala gaya!!!!

Geet felt happy to see the love and care Meera her best friend and Yash who didnt even know her well were showering on her while those whom she thought were her own just threw her out of their lives. Tears rolled down her eyes…remembering those words of Pammi…dev's betrayal…..yet there was a smile on her face…smile because of the love Yash and Meera showered on her…after so long…..she smiled….probably after months…she looked down at her huge tummy and smiled sadly.

After she was full she took the plate from Meera and fed her. Yash seeing this made a baby face and said "Not fair guys. Tum dono toh ek dusre ko hi khila rahe ho. Main bhi yahi hu" Meera laughed and then took a morsel and said "Arre mere baby ko bura laga" and then fed him and kissed his cheeks.

Geet felt both happy and sad Happy to see that atleast her friend had got a very loving husband but sad becoz of her fate and tears never left her eyes…….remembering Dev and his deeds. Kya kuch nahi kiya usne….apna sab kuch to use saunp diya tha… phir kis baat ki narazgi reh gayi???? Kaisi galti ho gayi usse jo use yeh sab dekhna pad raha hai?? Meera and Yash made her smile after a long long time…yet she felt more hurt after seeing their love….her heart screaming, "aakhir meri kya galti thi??? Kyun mujhe dev ne dhokha diya??? Kya mein itni buri hoon??? Kyun….mere bachche hi kyun…."

Meera got alert seeing Geet crying and asked "Geet tu ro kyu rahi hai??? Plz mujhe bata na kya huva???" Geet who was not able to bear the pain anymore inside her broke down. Meera hugged Geet seeing her breaking down. Today Geet cried out her heart which she was not able to do for so many months.

Uske aanssun hi shayad uske saathi the…

After calming down a bit she told Meera & Yash about how Pammi killed her baby after brainwashing Dev's mind & all the things when she got to know that she was pregnant & pammi's taunts & today how she got to know the news of Dev marrying some other rich woman and Pammi leaving her in the hospital.

By the time she finished she again started crying. Meera also cried that she wasn't there for her friend when she needed her n then she promised herself that from now on she wouldn't let Geet suffer & do anything possible to help her out. Yash then gave Geet water to drink after she calmed down a bit. Meera helped her to go to the guest room which was on the same floor as she didn't want Geet to climb the stairs in this state and helped her lie down.

She called Geet's doctor for a checkup and asked for an appointment the next day. Yash bought the medicines quickly as prescribed by the doctor and sat beside Geet. She still looked sad…broken..meera could understand her pain…she was crying deep within too…but she needs to be strong…for her friend!!!

To distract Geet she started telling how she met Yash in college when she was in Delhi, How he was flirty in front of her and after dating for 1 year they decided to get married but their families didn't allow. It took 2 months for them to convince them and finally they got married and shifted to Chandigarh. Geet was happy to listen that Meera's family were not like family to impose their decision on her. By then Yash had returned with the medicines and he gave to Meera. Meera then made sure that Geet took the medicines and sat beside her till she slept. May be this was the most peaceful sleep she had till now…you can't call it peaceful though…but she slept!!! That mattered the most!!! Meera sat beside her the whole night…looking after her…cursing dev and his family for doing something like this to her friend…not friend..a woman!!!

Next morning, when Geet woke up she realised that she was not in her room. She recalled the previous day's events. She prayed to Babaji to give her the strength to bring her babies into the world safely. After freshening up she went out only to find Meera in the kitchen. She went to the kitchen andsaid "Good morning Meera. Tune mujhe uthaya kyun nahi. Itna late ho gaya???" Meera replied "Tujhe jaldi kyu uthna hai??? Tujhe ab sirf araam karna hai" She then made Geet sit and brought her breakfast and they had it together.
