Maan then realized that it was the same lady he helped & then told Yash & Meera who were confused as to what was Geet saying. While Maan was telling all this Geet sat next to Meera & hugged her. Meera hugged her back caressing her back…..when suddenly she found geet not responding!!!!

She panicked and laid her gently on the bed. Yash and Meera tried to wake her up…splached water…rubbed her hands and toes..she did open her eyes for a moment, but shut them down again! Meera called up a doctor immediately and after a thorough checkup, she informed that geet had been very weak all this while that might have made her pregnancy complicated which was taking a toll on her.

Maan was a mute spectator of all the things going on around him…unable to understand a thing! 1^st he sees a girl being chased my some goons in the mid of night, he saves her and drops her to the bus stop and now he sees her again in his best buddy's place and now Meera and Yash so worried about her and the most shocking part—she was pregnant….then where was her family?

Maan had been Yash' best friend since college days. They finished their graduations and masters together and he knew Meera as well. Yash used to flirt openly with her…though she was a year junior. He was more than happy to see them getting married. And now…he was the heir to KC…the MD! Yash worked as a high ranked employee in a reputed company whoch was dealing with KC. So both were very happy. Moreover Yash was handling the project…all the more cool!!!

But who was this geet today? He had some work in Chandigarh so he dropped in to his friend's place for the night. He had never heard of geet…not from any of them!

He and Yash were sent to the guest room while Meera stayed with geet. She had fever too. Maan couldn't sleep the whole night. Yash so he dozed off immediately but Maan's restlessness couldn't get better off his curiousity!

PRESENT

A call interfered their conversation. He thanked her Babaji for the call. She was sobbing badly and he couldn't bear it. He made a sorry face and cupped her cheeks wiping away those tears!

Maan: sorry sweetheart…but I really need to get going now…imp call hain.

She nodded and hugged him tight. He held her close, trying to calm her down as he talked on the phone. He didn't want her ti remember even the slightest tinge of her past…he'd never let those shadows of her past haunt her.

Just then Dadima entered their room and saw geet sobbing in Maan's arms while Maan seemed busy in a call. Ahh she was so furious.

Dadima: Mr. Maan Singh Khurana..what the hell do you think you are doing?

He was startled by the sudden outburst and he knew this meant RED ALERT! He ended the call right there.

Maan: ji..ji Dadima..

Dadima furiously walked towards him and pulled his ears. He winced in pain.

Maan: ah..ah..dadima…ahhh mein..k..kya kiya?

Geet just smiled through her tears.

Dadima: here your beloved wife is crying her eyes out..which is not at all good in this condition and..and look at you…aisa kya zaruri kaam aa gaya that you couldn't just avoid that call?

Maan: ahh..dadima…kaan chodiye..dard ho raha hain…and aisa nahi hain..

Dadima: to phir kaisa hain? You are supposed to keep her happy samjhe! Why are you so careless around her?

Maan gave up. Dadima won't listen to him anymore now.

Maan: okay fine…am sorry Dadima. It won't happen again!

Dadima: that's better. Both of you get ready and come down for breakfast…

And then it hit Dadima….breakfast! she again pulled his already red ears…even tighter.

Maan cried, "ouch…ouch…dadimaaa ab kya kiya meine?"

Dadima: kyun re badmash…why are you making my daughter starve? You..

Just then one of the babies cried. Ahh that was a good distraction for Dadima she immediately went to them. NT had come to help her take saanjh and chaht downstairs.

Geet sat looking down. Giggling!!

Maan (rubbing his ears): yeh acha hain…tum rooti ho aur daant mujhe padti hain and upar se you are laughing now!!!

Geet (trying to suppress her laughter): na…..s..sorry Maan..hehehehhehehe

He just took in those sugar sweet lips into his, molding them into their own accord. She just held his collar and pulled him closer to her, pushing herself in to taste his sweetness. This was probably she needed the most right now!

PAST

She ran…the men had surrounded her completely. She had no where to run now. She was tired…weak…almost fainting. One of the men raised a sword to reach her, while she protectively wrapped her arms around her tummy to protect her children and SLASH….

"NO….STOP…" she snapped open her eyes screaming, "NO…don't hurt them….please…!"

Maan kept his coffee o the table and ran to her room. Yash and Meera had gone to the police to lodge a complaint against dev and his family, making sure geet doesn't get to know about it. Maan had to stay back for some work. Any ways geet was fast asleep, so there was not a problem!

He ran and sat beside her, "geet…geet…its okay…its fine.."

There was so much fear in those eyes…so many questions and so much uncertainty. Maan moved a bit forward to hold her,. she instinctively wrapped her hands around her tummy and ried to move away!

She was still in trance…not able to distinguish between dream and reality. Maan moved a bit closer, "its okay geet…"

Geet: n…no…you..you'll hurt them…

Maan understood her state of mind. He was getting curious to know as to what could have happened that she was so scared to this extent. He tried to get to her and she was so so so scared…she had started screaming and begging him not to hurt her babies. Those hazel eyes that he had seen the previous night…had a stange emptiness today…that held no emotions except fear and pain!

He moved a few steps back from her and raised his hand up in the air.

Maan: geet…geet…its fine! Calm down. I won't hurt you…calm down please…

She was still not convinced. She was literally glued to the headboard of the bed.

Maan: I promise…I won't hurt you..calm down…

She looked at him and his eyes…they were earnest…sincere..something she felt she could just trust! She seemed to calm down a bit.

Maan: you were just having a bad dream geet…

He slowly moved closer to her. he didn't know why but he wanted to soothe her…he had seen her in so much pain, he just wanted to see her in peace and everything just happened!! Like nature providing you with all the necessities!

He went near and sat beside her and held her hand, caressing it, letting her know that she was safe.

Maan: you are safe here…

She was slowly getting back to herself. She took a deep breath in and settled comfortably in his presence. He held her by her shoulder and helped her sit properly. Her eyes met his for a moment…she couldn't stop staring at them. He helped her drink some water and sat beside her, holding her hand. She had never felt this comfortable in anyones presence before. They didn't speak but even the silence created that comfy atmosphere.

She rested her headback on the headboard and closed her eyes. Suddenly she felt a kick. She snapped open her eyes in a jerk and looked down at her tummy. Maan wondered what happened.

Maan: geet…are you alright? Kuch chahiye tummhe?

She looked at him and then again at her tummy.

Geet: she kicked!

Maan: what?

A delight filled her empty eyes. She put her hand on the place where she felt it.

Geet: sir…she kicked!

She chimed in happiness.

Geet: she kicked…she did did…

Maan made a face, "why are you calling me sir?

She looked up to him, "because I don't know your name sir!, she said it ever so cutely. He laughed. Just a moment ago she was so lost and the next moment, she was just someone different, someone so cute. And he completely forgot that she was a complete stranger to him who had met him the previous night!

Maan: ohh okay…but don't call me sir! It sounds wired!

Geet: then what do I call you sir?

Maan rolled his eyes, "call me Maan okay!"

Geet: yes sir!

Maan narrowed his brows! Geet smiled, "I mean Maan…"

Maan: that's better!

Geet felt another kick.

Geet: OMG she kicked again..nahi nahi am sure she is the other one!

Geet just took his hand and placed it on her tummy, gliding it over the place where she felt the baby.

Maan went numb for a moment..a chill ran down his spine with that touch . he snapped when he felt a kick. OMG..he got sooo excited like a baby!

Maan: geet..i felt it…

She had a wide smile on her face.

Geet; meine kaha tha na…both have become so naughty..

Maan had never felt something this amazing before. He kept gliding his hand over her stomach. She had withdrawn her her. she felt ticked yet so warm. For Maan…ohh god, he had never felt something so extraordinarily beautiful ever!

After a while, he felt a kick again. He was so excited.

Maan: geet..dekho..baby kicked again…

And that's when he notice she had dozed off already, resting her head uncomfortably on the headboard. He smiled and carefully laid her on the bed, making sure, she was comfortable and pulled on the spread. He walked back to the hall to get his coffee…oops his cold coffee which he absolutely detested!
