PART 2

'Dev'' the evil in his life.

Next morning they came back to their hotel. They were partying that day, suddenly a phone call came to Geet's mobile. When she picked up the phone smile from her face vanished. She ran to her room and locked the door. All had heard she was shouting on phone. Like someone was pushing her to do something she does not want to do.

After that phone call Geet started to avoid Maan. She was even not picking his phone call.

One day Maan went to Pari's house Geet was there too. Geet was in Pari's room. Maan over heard their conversation. Geet was crying badly and Pari was consoling her.

"Geet. You don't have to do this. Everything is going to be fine. I will talk to your dad."

"He is not going to listen to you .Mom told me yesterday if I wont do this he will commit suicide."

Their conversation stopped as Maan knocked the door.

"Who is it?" Pari asked.

"It's me. Maan."

After a few seconds Pari opened the door. Maan saw Geet whipping her tears. There was a spot on her cheek like some one has hit her very badly.

"I got to go." Geet was going to leave but Maan sopped her.

"Geet." Geet was avoiding to meet his eyes. "Look at me." He forced Geet to look into his eyes by raising her chin. She looked into Maan's eye. Her eyes were teary. "Now tell me why are you avoiding me?" He hold her arm so tightly which cost her to give a moan. "Geet you have to tell me why?" He could not control his rage. Maan shouted and shacked her by her arms.

"Maan" She was going to say something at that moment Pari's phone rang.

"Geet." As Pari called Geet their eyes contact broke and looked at Pari. "Dev is here to pick you up. He is coming inside."

Geet freed herself from Maan and move from his side hurriedly.

After a few second Maan saw a tall well built guy with spakes came to Pari's room.

"Hey Geet, Hello Pari." He smiled. Geet gave ghost of a smile to him. He looked at Maan then his gaze turned to Geet.

"This is Maan." Geet started to speak "And Maan this is" She was cut by Dev

"I'm Dev. Geet's fianc. We are going to marry soon." Dev placed his arm around her shoulder. "Nice to meet with you Maan." He smiled at him. Maan was so shocked to hear that he could not even react.

"We should go Geet." Dev gave a Geet nasty look and escorted her out of the house.

Maan was so dumbstruck. So angry with Geet. The girl he loved most ditched him. She is engaged to another guy. She did not even tell him the truth. She just used him.

"Pari." He turned at her. "So this is the reason she was avoiding me. She is going to marry another guy."

"Maan you don't know the whole truth." Maan did not pay attention to her and started to leave.

"Maan. Listen to me." Pari shouted.

"Listen what? I already have enough." Maan shouted back. "The girl I loved, ditched me like this and you are saying I don't know the truth. If she has to do this why she came close to me, why?" Maan did not hear a word. That night he left India. Pari massaged him Geet's wedding date. He was not going to attend that marriage.

That was the last day he saw Geet.

On the day of her wedding Pari was calling Maan. At first he was avoiding it but finally he picked up. Pari was crying very badly.

"Pari what happened?"

"Maan, Geet'.."

"I know. It's her wedding date." He said in a stern voice.

"No Maan, we don't know where she is. She is lost. We cant find her any where. Please come here."

Next day Maan came back to India and met Pari at her house.

"Pari what happened? Where is Geet?"

"Maan. She was going to marry Dev. The night before the wedding Dev went to her house with his parents. They insulted Geet and her family very badly in front of everyone. Dev said he is not going to marry a girl who has spent a night with another guy before. They broke their engagement.."

"How did he come to know?"

"Geet had told him everything in their first meeting only. But he did not say anything for this until that night." She paused. "Maan" she started in a heavy voice, "Geet's marriage was only a business deal. Geet was the only daughter of Mr. Rajendar Handa, who was 20percent stake holder of The Sunshine Industry. Dev's dad Mr. Singhania owned 30 percent share of the industry. He wanted to take over Sunshine Industry by hook or crock But it was not possible as their other partner Mr. Rathod owned 45percent stakes. It was only possible if Dev marry Geet they would be the major stake holder of The Sunshine Industry. Dev's dad helped Geet's dad in one of his darkest phase of his life n was black mailing him, if she didn't agree with this marriage, he would disclose some of their family secrets which could cause a social death of their family. Geet's dad never thought about her happiness. He was pushing Geet to marry Dev for the sake of their family honor."

Maan was shocked. "Then why he broke the engagement?"

Pari: "Mr. Rathod offered a better deal to them, asking Dev to marry their daughter Naintara so Dev gave that excuse."

"Where is Geet?" Maan was restless.

"We don't know. The next morning I found a letter in Geet's room. She said she is leaving and not coming back. We don't know where she has gone. We know nothing." Pari buried her face in her hands.

Maan was furious. He shacked Pari, "What are you guys doing? Why didn't you stop her?"

"Why you didn't listen to me that day Maan?" Pari asked him back with a teary voice. "She was living in hell. Dev use to beat her, abuse her. It became worse when he saw you with her that day."

Maan closed his eyes in pain as Pari continued, "Like you the whole gang abandoned her. They did not even listen to me. And she would never tell them as she didn't want any consolation from anyone. I guess that's why she left without saying anything to anyone."

Maan cursed himself for everything and still cursing him for that. There was not a single day in his life that he didn't curse himself for that incident.

After that Maan searched for her every possible place. But he could not find her. He got a picture of Geet with Dev in Geet's room which he kept with him to remind himself that he has to avenge someone. The picture reminds him the ghost of a smile Geet gave to Dev that day, he believed after avenging Dev he will be able to bring Geet's beautiful smile back even in this picture.

It's been five years since the incident happened. Still now he does not know where she is.

Maan came to present as the car turned and honked loudly. Now Maan did not even know where his other friends are. They called each other once in a while. A few days before Meera got married to Yash in USA. She massaged him. Pari is an established fashion designer lives in France. Arjun and Anny gave birth to a baby girl. They emailed him the picture. He smiled. Maan took a deep breath. He is satisfied now as he is able to bring The Sunshine Industry at his knee but happiness, that leaved him forever with Geet. Maan turned off the laptop and looked outside of the window.

The car took another turn.

Suddenly the car's headlight fell on a girl standing on the road. It was her. Yes he could see her. The same face the same eyes. She was looking at him and giving a pleading smile saying to stop the car. It was Geet standing alone in the pitch black turn of the road.
