Chapter 1
It was the morning of the day after Thursday. The weather had changed over night. It had got exceedingly cold. The wind bought sizzling rain with the misty weather. It was just a little after 10 in the morning. Everything seemed so dead and quite. The doors flung opened as the wind hustled loudly. Everyone was either at work or inside their houses due to the weather. But there was one extra ordinary person. Not a person but people, who were too busy sitting in the cafe drinking their teas and coffees: Armaan,Kripa,Riddhima,Angad,Anjali and Kavya.
These guys were like the friends that no one can separate not even the lousy weather. These guys had moved into USA to achieve their goals to prove to people what they can do. Most of them have gone through a tragic life but most are having so much fun in their lives that nothing will put them down. They have made themselves really strong that they are trying to prevent any sort of harm affect them or any sort of sadness and emotion.
The welcome scent of coffee wafted through the air. The cold breeze coming from the refrigerators went straight through you. The sound of muttering reached the ears of the people sitting. But the muttering was increasingly loud at a certain corner of the cafe. The group huddled together on the sofa. There was a couch in the cafe that was put just there for these guys because they didn't want to sit on 2 chaired tables in view of the fact that this will cause them to separate. To their look they did get a sofa only because 2 members of staff are part of that group.
The dudes and the duddettes were sitting together on the couch. Armaan sat on the old wooden chair that lay next to the left hand of the sofa and Riddhima sat opposite him in a armchair that was on the right side of the sofa.
Riddhima looked at Armaan with a smile. "Hey Armaan what are you reading, and why are you making that face." Riddhima looked at him with fascination as she saw him staring at the book making all sorts of faces as if he just saw a ghost. "Well Riddhima I'm reading a book." Riddhima didn't say anything stupid and already Armaan was getting really annoyed. The other four that were watching this came to the tip of their sofa to get a close in of the conversation that was taking place between Armaan and Riddhima because they knew something was going to happen. "I know it's a book. I was just wondering why you were making them faces or is it you were naturally born like that." Riddhima winked at Armaan. The group quickly turned their heads towards Armaan to see what he had to say to that. "Riddhima I'm reading 'The Shining' It's a scary book, OK, and just for the record it's really scary it makes you react that's why i pull a face." The group directly turned their heads from Armaan to Riddhima. "How often do your read it." "Well I read it over and over again." Riddhima looked at him with her eyes popping out, really amazed. "Wow do you actually read that over and over again." "Yeh I mean haven't you ever read a book over and over again because it's so good." "Well I guess I read twilight more than once but that because it's a classic what's so great about your book. " "Ok umm well we'll just see about that. The question, what you should be asking me is what's not great about my book, Ok and the answer would be NOTHING. Alright. This is like the scariest book like EVER." Armaan was getting very intimidated by Riddhima because he knew exactly where what she was trying to get him to. "Ok well we'll see about that do you know what I will read 'The Shining' and you read 'Twilight' lets see which ones better. "Riddhima swapped her book with his and flicked through it .Alright you got it." The guys were going crazy they were continuously rotating their heads to catch Armaan's and Riddhima's reactions. "Do you know what, yeh sure go ahead I actually want to see whether this book makes you pull a face or not." Armaan said. He couldn't wait to see the scared look on Riddhima's face after she was done reading that book. All of a sudden from nowhere they hear a loud thud. Armaan and Riddhima turn their heads to look at the sofa which was now flipped over because the guys were sitting right on the tip end of it. Everyone screamed "Ouch." Armaan and Riddhima laughed trying to move the sofa back. "You guys do your necks hurt by any chance." Angad said after he got up as he slowly tried massaging the side of his neck "Oh you never say." Everyone screamed as they sat down on the sofa. "Well do you know what guys you deserved it me and Armaan were talking and you guys were in for the buzz thinking that something will happen. That's why your heads were moving like a fan stuck on repeat. Anyways I'm off going to read this book now aren't I Armaan." "Shut-Up Riddhima and just go will you." "Bye everyone." Riddhima got up with her book and walked towards her brother and kissed him "I love you Angad bro." Angad kissed her back on her soft cheek." I love you to Ridz." Riddhima went of to the apartment to read her story. Eventually Armaan went to because he wanted to also finish of his new story and give it to back to Riddhima before she did.
Kripa looked at Angad questioningly. "Angad your good with clothes aren't you." She looked at him with strong interest. "Yes I am why?" I needed your advice." "Wow wow wow, let me just stop you there Kripa I'm not really good at giving advices. Ummm do you want a sarcastic comment?" "Why the hell would i want one of them." Kripa looked at him weirdly. "Just saying." Angad shrugged his shoulders" Ok you know what you can come with me to the mall and help me chose clothes. If that's ok with you because it is easy than giving advice." Angad huffed and sighed but Kripa didn't care. She walked up to him and dragged him from the sofa, he got up being the good guy he is and also because he had no choice.
That just left Kavya and Anjali on their own. Kavya looked at Anjali with love as she was lying down on the sofa as if she owned it. Kavya looked back in reverse at the counter where Anjali was supposed to be working, he saw a line of customers. "Umm Anjali." "Yes Kavya." "Wake up aren't you supposed to be there." Kavya pointed to the counter. "Oh sugar yeh sorry I'll be with you in 5 minutes. Anjali gave him a peck on the cheek and quickly ran to the counter hoping the manager didn't see that she apologised to the customers making an excuse that someone had an allergic reaction to coffee. Kavya laughed at himself when he saw this. He smiled knowing Anjali wasn't going to take 5 minutes but rather an hour with that long of a line. But he still decided to wait for her.
In the evening at Anjali's flat.
Riddhima shivered sitting alone in the dark room as she read the book she was getting scared the imagination the story put in her head was amazing she kept looking back and forth thinking someone was behind her. This was her state after reading a quarter of the page she wondered how scared she'll be when she read all of it. Riddhima sat on the sofa with a hammer beside her table in case there was someone behind her. She then wouldn't have to walk along way to self protect her. She heard creaking outside the door. She jumped from the sofa feeling frightened. She picked the hammer and slowly creeped to the door. Anjali walked into the room and faced Riddhima who was holding a hammer and was ready to kill by the looks of her face. She nearly swung the hammer at Anjali. "Oh my fricking gosh Riddhima what the hell are you doing. Are you crazy I could have gotten hurt you know." Anjali was now panting as she thought Riddhima was really going to go for her. "I'm sorry Anji. It's just that story that Armaan gave." "Ok but what has a hammer got to do with it." "Well the story's kind of scary and i felt someone would grab me from the back so i got a hammer to feel a little secure." Riddhima hugged Anjali saying sorry to her.
Anjali and Riddhima both jumped on the sofa. Anjali was completely shattered. She felt exhausted; there was no doubt about that.
"So how was your day at work?" Riddhima put her book on the table and slid a piece of paper into it to know where she will be starting next time she reads.
"Well you know same old." "Awww bless you Anjali you know what I'm actually so proud of you. Your making a lot out of your life. You've got yourself a nice apartment, you've got a job and you've got the sweetest boyfriend anyone could ask for. " "I know Ridz but sometimes I get scared thinking what if something happens to me and Kavya. What if in the future there is no me and Kavya." Anjali said tilting her head on to Riddhima's shoulder. Riddhima started brushing her hand on Anjali's hair. "Anjali why do you think like that." "I don't know all this happiness doesn't last to long with me. It just seems it won't take long before everything is over." Riddhima hugged Anjali and kissed her head. "Don't worry Anjali I'm sure everything will go all good. You're really strong and we're here with you nothing were not going to let anything happen."
Angad walked into Anjali's apartment and walked straight to the fridge."Hey Anjali listen do you have any tuna I was going to make a sandwich." Riddhima looked at her brother with unbelief. The fact that he walked straight to the fridge without even looking around the room to see who was there. Or to even just say hello. "Bro." Riddhima shouted at him. "Yes Ridz what's up." "Come here right now. I mean you didn't even look around the room to see who's here and whose not. And look Anjalis feeling down." "hey Anjali what's wrong sweetie." Angad walked to Anjali and kissed her forehead. "Nothing Angad I just wish everything stays like it is." She looked at Angad friendly. " So I'm going to get some sleep and I want you to be the fatty you are and go get the tuna and make your sandwich whilst your at it make me one to it feels nice when your not serving something yourself for once. Thanks a lot Angad I love you for that." Angad got the tuna and walked straight to his apartment to work on his special so called sandwich. Whilst Anjali walked to the kitchen before she went to bed. As soon as Angad walked out Kavya walked in with Kripa. "Hey you guys what you doing." Kripa said jumping on to the sofa. "Nothing" Anjali said as she walked to Kavya and kissed him. I really missed you Kavya." "I missed you to Anjali. "Kavya kissed Anjali on the head and saw that she was tired. He picked her up into his arms and took her to the room so she could sleep. Kavya slowly slid into bed with her so she could hug him and so that he could comfort her. Anjali moved her head on to his chest. Kavya looked at her as she slept like an angel.
Later back in the Cafe
Armaan walked into the cafe and saw Kavya and Kripa. "Hey you guys how's it going." Armaan said to both of them whilst taking his jacket off. "Hey" They both replied feeling happy seeing him after awhile because he was to busy in his apartment reading the book. Kavya was staring at Anjali and strolled towards her. Kripa just looked at her nails as it was a new discovery. Angad entered the cafe and made his way to the sofa, He walked towards the guys. He looked at Kripa with a smile. He seated himself on the edge of the sofa. "Hey Ridz." Armaan shouted as he saw her coming into the cafe. "How are you doing with 'The Shining'." "Oh well Danny just went into room 17." Riddhima tightened her shoulders saying that in eagerness. Armaan quickly replied back to her "Ohhhh the next parts the best where that dead lady in the bath tub." "NNNNNNNNN come on your going to ruin it." Riddhima put her hands next to her ears trying to block the sound of Armaan reaching her. "Alright I'll just talk in code ok." Armaan starts talking in code. "Do you guys remember when those kids see those two bodies in the hallway. "Angad and Kripa looked at each other and went "OOOOOOO that's very cool." "Oh yes and at the end when jack tries killing them and they all get away ohh." Riddhima looked at Armaan with disbelief. "Armaan I can't believe you just did that." Angad looked at Armaan and said "And do you know what I can't believe she cracked your code." Angad said trying to look amazed. "Oh ok then Armaan is it going to be like that then well guess what Jacob is a werewolf and Edward knows but Bella doesn't. Armaan looked at Riddhima and put his hand on the side of his head. "Heyyy mine was by accident. Armaan gave her a following reply to Riddhimas comment "Alright then the boiler explodes and burns the hotel and kills the dad." "Huuuhhhhhhhh well do you know what Armaan Bella gets stuck between Jacob and Edward and she doesn't no who to chose." Armaan gasped as loud as possible and stood up with his hands on his mouth. Oh my god does Bella get stuck between the two of them. Riddhima sat down calmly as she was happy with her outcome. "Ridz I hate you for that." Armaan clenched his fists at her. "Armaan I love you too." Riddhima blew him a kiss.
Kripa laughed as she saw both of them arguing and shouting at each other so she stands at the corner of the cafe and picks her guitar up she gets the microphone and placed it in front of her. "Hello excuse me Hi I'm going to sing a song today and I want my friend Angad to join me. Angad walked to Kripa giving her a high five. They both whispered to each other and said. "I want to dedicate this song to my friends." Kripa announced as she looked at Angad.
