It seems like my answers aren't needed on the matter then? Since Sookie has provided the legal details, which are also present in the Terms of Use?

What the mods can do is implement ideas and threads and reconsider our approaches to some of the issues, which we have done after the discussions held here...

And also, those that are asking about warning levels, we've not raised any warning levels without PM'ing you...all these warnings have been given to you by moderators of other sections, so it's better if you ask them about it, we had (and will have) no say in that matter for it doesn't relate to this section at all.

hello .... to all...

i read this section.... and i m quiet hapy to see that a healthy discussion is going on.... and many are seem to hav a positive approach for this.... and also trying to understand different aspects of the issue...

as far as adult content is concern..... i hav a different view coz may be i dont write so may be i might be biased as far as readers r concern....

i found it imp to pen my iew coz mostly writers hav been here to comment..

i myself am not against adult content... coz i can handle it and if necessary omit it as well while reading but if pennyng it down is concern i just wudnt....

i think the writers while writing such stuff must only think that if they dont mind their younger sibling to read it then i dont think theiir is a harm while posting... coz we all r very protective for our siblings....

then i wud like to say that there r forums were u hav to post to the moderators first and then it is posted on the site.... this is done to keep a check on the content....

when if gives u freedom i think it is ur duty to abide by the set rules....

coz with rights there r responsibilities...

u wudnt like a check on all ur post... so there is freedom but when u go against it i think the laws will hav to be pulled tight to make each one understand that the freedom which u got cannot be mis-used....

and the laws hav to be shown to u.....

if every one understand their responsibilities the mods will lose their job.... but we dont simply becoz either we r not capable coz of age or we simply dont want us to be told by sumone......

so mods r there and here to show us our responsibilties... i think everyone shud take it positively so that the freedom given to u is there as u like.....

i think i hav made a very long think and may be repeated my self... but i think moderators can be a lil milder intead of having a ff closed they shud hav the page not openable or the post not veiwable until the required changes r done...

by being such loud i think the writers become dishearten and maybe lose their image in the forum....

this creates a negative vibe in the forum...

by closing the ff the mods are making it clear that there is adult content so many may even end up reading coz the post is still viewable its just that u cant post a reply

thanks and bye

@ Madz - I understand that many people would not care about the warning, but IF cannot be held responsible if someone decides to by-pass the warning and read it anyway, right ? IF, as a forum, has fulfilled it's responsibility by providing a disclaimer and a warning. If someone is ignorant enough to not pay attention then it's his/her fault.
But I guess like Sookie pointed out, It's a legal issue aswell, and that is something that cannot be bypassed :)
Anyway, Thanks for clearing this out :)

I said virtually the same thing with this: "We as the Development Team of the Fan Fictions section can only implement changes that do not go against this code. These changes can be related to how open we are to suggestions (those that don't break rules, of course) and the way we respond to incidents of rule breaking, among others." Maybe it was less clear somehow.

Maanu, we understand your concerns, which is why we never used this strategy before. But at this point, things are getting out of hand. We needed to take some drastic measures. First of all, let me reiterate what I said to Kanu earlier in this thread. These writers are writing in highly explicit terms, and by doing so, are breaking rules which are stated very clearly in multiple places on the forum. So clearly, they don't mind their image in the forum reflecting that. They are obviously okay with being considered "adult writers" and "rule-breakers." So I really don't think our reprimands in their thread will cause them to become disheartened. There will just be a new discription added to their image -- "the ones that got caught by the mods."
Regarding your first statement, I honestly wish we had the option of making a thread unviewable/unopenable. That would have been a much better option. But unfortunately, we can only close or trash them. The advantage with closing threads with inappropriate content is that the writer is very likely to cooperate because he/she wants to be able to continue the story and receive responses. Also, the longer the FF remains closed, the further back it moves in the pages of the section and the less likely readers are to come across it.
I hope I made the issue a little clearer. Just to let you know, this is not a permanent approach. When adult content is less of a problem, we will go back to PM warnings. Also, over the new few days, Madz and I will discuss the feedback we have received here and take that into consideration as well.

hi.......
there's a lot of talk going on here is on the adult content.....and here is what i think......
well first of all i think like a member said it would be better if there was some way in which the page was made unviewable......i mean when you lock it ppl can still read right?????
also i feel that even after we give warnings we should try to keep what we write clean.....i mean if it is a love scene it can be written very beautifully highlighting the love between the couple.....and not being vulgar. I have seen many writers here on our forum who write very nice scenes which make you enjoy the love story but are not vulgar......
since most of us write romance, there is bound to be a certain number of love scenes......especially in a fic which portrays the couple to be married, it is quite unnatural not to have a few romantic scenes.....but i completely agree that this is a family forum and so we should write using language that is appropriate.....i would not want anyone very young reading explicit stuff too........
i'd also like to say that when i do read romantic fics.....i like any reader look forward to the romance between the couple......its a different issue that i'm not a minor.......but i do enjoy certain conversations that may be considered to an extent kinky or tantalising......i don't think that makes me a pervert or anything....its quite natural to like to read romance and to enjoy reading flirty conversations or descriptions of the feeling of love......so i guess i'm okay with kissing and stuff....as long as we don't start going into great detail about lovemaking......
i mean if you are writing about lovemaking you should be able to bring about the love between the couple and not just give a physical description to readers.......
i would like to name a few writers who have really written lovely romantic scenes which we really enjoyed reading and at the same time pertain to the rules......
Kat
Jia
Bheegi di
Barkha di
Anu
Anokhee
kiran
Rav
Sazi
Sonali
steffi
krati
nijal
naseem
hina di
and many many more.......
that's pretty much all i have to say......our mods give us quite a bit of freedom and we should be able to respect that and have fun on this forum and get to read awesome fics......

loads of love
sumedha

p.s: mods this is a great way of lettingus talk to you guys......thanks!!!!!!!!
