Itefaaq Part-9

Angad surveyed Kripa's beautiful facial features, her mesmerizing eyes, long lashes, rosy red lips, her naughty chin and her lustrous hair covering a bit of her face. She looked like an Angel on Earth. It was then he noticed that Kripa had sensed his gaze and now was moving uncomfortably. She could wake up any moment. Angad didn't want Kripa to find out that he had been up before her…for obvious reasons, so he slid back down in the comforter and pretended to be asleep.

Kripa woke up and found herself sitting on an angle with her head resting on Angad's left arm and her left hand resting on Angad's chest. This made Kripa go as red as a tomato. Realizing that she probably fell asleep while nursing Angad last night, she stood up. The position she was in was very awkward indeed but some how it felt right. "But why?" that was the question. Why did Angad remind her of certain someone (Note: You'll find out soon enough which is the "certain someone" she is talking about) she had wanted to forget since forever, but never successful in doing so. She left the memories of her past and now, was more focused upon Angad's health.

Angad seemed sound asleep. She bent down and checked Angad's temperature again (basic hand on forehead thing). She was shocked…..

Itefaaq-Part 10

He had no fever, his body temperature felt normal. She didn't know how a person as sick as Angad was last night could recover so fast? Then again she did know someone who actually did recover this fast. For a minute Kripa drifted back to her past. She remembered how her best friend Aryan had gotten sick after the torrential rains in the year 1995. She was 13 and Aryan was 15 at that time. She had taken care of him just the same way she had taken care of Angad and Aryan did recover in 12 hours or period. It happened many times with Kripa and Aryan. The reason after this might have been the unconditional love (just friendship kind of love) for each other. Not wanting to go back into her past more, fearing that she might remember… she returned to the present

Well whatever the reason was behind Angad's speedy recovery didn't matter as long was he was fine. Her job as an doctor was done and Angad was safe and sound.

Angad went along with what Kripa did, he didn't dare to move a single inch. Angad's acting was superb, nobody could tell that he had been faking to be asleep the whole time Kripa checked him.

"Good Morning Angad, its 11 am, please wake up now" Angad heard Kripa yell motioning him to get up from her one hand; the other held a cup of coffee. Resting the cup of coffee on the table, she took a seat in the armchair next to the side table.

"I have 2 good news for you" she continued.

Angad twisted in his bed and got up. "Thank God 2 good news hain, warna I usually hear ek(1) good news aur ek bad news" Angad playfully smiles. "I would like to hear them."

Angad's voice sounded a lot better now and very familiar to Kripa…

"Well the first one is that the storm has stopped and the phone lines are back up. And secondly your fever is gone, you might have some minor cold but that's about it," Kripa broke the good news to Angad. For a moment Angad's face lost all its colour; he looked scary white. This meant that now he would be able to go back his hotel. But he knew from that from the start, then why was his disappointed??

"Hello," Kripa snapped her fingers in front of Angad, bringing him back to reality. She also felt somewhat sad after telling him that he could go. She had thoroughly enjoyed his company even if he was conscious most of the time she was with him. It made no difference; she was with "HIM".

"That's a great news," Angad managed to lie. Kripa not noticed he was just as sad as she was. His face said it all.

Before Angad could say anything else Kripa intruptted, "Here's the phone and you call your friend, I doubt that the cell phones are working yet. Oh and freshen up after that, I am going to go make breakfast now" and left the room.

Angad helplessly dialed Karthik's hotel number.

Karthik picks up the phone.

Angad: Hi it's me Zaib.

Karthik: Where have you been damn it? I have the whole Montreal police searching for you all over the place.

Angad: Chill buddy tell them to stop. I am alright.

Angad explains the whole ordeal to Karthik and he sighs lamely*

Karthik: Gosh! You could have contacted me at least. Well I'll let bygones be bygones, just thank god you found a place to stay at.

Angad mutters under his breath: Yup very nice place, chod ne ka mann nahin karta

Karthik: What???

Angad: Kuch nahin, tum kya keh rahe the?

Karthik: Who kuch nahin, waise maine tumhare show organize ho gaye hain. We will be staying here tell April 24^th. Anyway I'll give you the details when we meet.

Angad: Okay now, will you please send me a car or some kind of vehicle and the this address ______________(….)

Karthik: Someone will be there to pick you up around 4. It's going to take time with all this snow.

Angad: No problem. ok then see you tonight buddy.

Karthik: Yea see you tonight.

With this Angad cuts the phone and goes to freshen up.

Next: Angad leaves…Kripa's and Angad's last meeting or is it??

Note: The story will progress to Mumbai, India in few more episodes.
