I am sorry for not being able to understand your POV. FOr me its still just a matter of choice. To me it wouldn't have made much difference if Anjali was chosen over Akash for they are equals only as far as experience or talent is concerned. Col had to choose one and he did. That's all about it. Interestingly if Akash was topper and Col had choose Anjali over him, we would have ignored it right way. Now its man Vs woman debate.
I know prejudice happens in the outside world. There are still some things you cannot change and that's the way it is.

Why are you talking about discrimination this way ? As a woman myself don't I know about it ? But at the end of the day I am proud to be a woman or rather an individual. There are ample of thins only I can do. There are still thousand of scores which only a woman can do and man cannot. I dont need to certified by anyone, isn't it ? Anjali has to learn that she got the Everest expedition by fluke only. No one climbs the highest peak without minimum experience. In fact we all should respect Colonel because of that instead of accusing him. If that was not prejudice then this is not prejudice either.

@dey we two are completely polar opposite characters with viewpoints that can never meet. Reason is your journey might have been different and mine different. So it is better we stop it here. I respect your POV that it is not discrimination, so please respect my POV too that it is subtle discrimination.

Did I offend you ?😕 Sorry I had no such intention. I always try to remain to the topic only but sometimes things go out of hand.
Sorry to other members also. Please know I respect you all and your opinions.

You know me from EHT forum and you know I respect you and your POV. We can think differently and yet respect each other, isn't it ?

Besides its not the first time and definitely not the last time we are having difference of opinion.

We cannot belittle her opponent only because she has been a good leader and student in a mountaineering school.Did I say she should not feel horrible about it ? That's altogether a different issue.

Its Arjun and Roongta's assumption and not Colonel's plan. We are talking about Colonel's plan only which includes bringing the Danish team home alone.

Colonel made that decision based on gender, not on abilities, that is the worst part of it.
Are you denying that Colonel's decision was gender based?

It would not matter to Akash if he was left behind. Its not his passion to climb the mountain.
Its not Akash's dream to go up there, hes there doing a job, which he had quit in the first place.
So it would not be unfortunate if Akash wasnt chosen, in fact he would be glad if Anjali went in his place, hes not exactly dying to go up there, Anjali is!

But its Anjali's dream to go up to Everest and Colonel knows that, still he chose Akash!
Hes just as chauvinistic as Rawat.

Pallavi : No, I dont but I don't take it as only reason and I don't think it was chauvinist thing to do either.Every decision has a background. My approach is more practical and I know its a drawback if I am to remain loyal to Indian shows.
I think Bugs is right. Everyone sees it from different perspective. .So, no one is wrong here.. In fact the whole show depicts different ideas about the same Everest. Thanks Bugs.

Lets end it here only. I think the debate will go the wrong way here on.

Why everything shld be taken in negative?
U shld wait for d complete scene I feel
Abt anjali being left I think its due to her father.
Rawat talks abt anjali had lot of impact on col.he want her to smit.rawar asked col once DAT vl u promise me of her safe return. Col don't answered.he can't answer.its not in his hands.he can do anything for their safety if climate is normal.now climate is v bad.he selected some.BT they can say due to fear of death.its their choice.they are adults.why blame col for anything then.anjali going alone for summit is so unreal.impossible.if dey show that then its stupid.

So Colonel didnt take Anjali along as he promised Rawat he will keep her safe. That means hes still following orders of Brigadier Rawat who was his senior in the army.
He didnt choose her also because she was a girl and there would be dangers on the rescue mission. He will realize his choice was wrong when Akash freezes on the ladder.

Colonel also says he felt a boy is better for this work and jokes that Tara would not leave him if she heard that. This proves his decision was entirely gender based. Same old school chauvinism.

He had said before its Anjali's decision but ultimately he made it Rawat's decision...even from miles away, Rawat is still controlling Anjali's destiny, or at least he thinks so...he doesnt know Anjali is as stubborn as he is.

No dey you didn't offend me. But sometimes I feel when I am discussing something with someone where my views are in total contradiction I would prefer to stop it than continue it. Because it can sometime go ugly which I dont want to happen in a public forum atleast in a thread started by me.

I understand what a public forum is Shruti and I also understand its limitations. I admit I often get carried away in a discussion but I also want to make it clear that I never get personal or belittle anyone's else way of thinking. I had no intention of ruining this thread either but the question asked here was already a controversial one. I always think from practical point of view only and that may often contradict with some one else's way of looking at things. That doesn't mean I don't respect them or their POV.
I think I should simply stop posting in those threads which don't speak my words.

Till then all I can do is say Sorry for whatever happened.

Thank you!
