The CVS seem to be very confused regarding which religion they are trying to portray. This show is said to be based on a Sikh Punjabi family but there's going to be no Sikh wedding? They showed the families visiting the Gurdwara numerous times, doing ardaas, wearing karas, displaying the Khanda symbol, and displaying Guru Nanak Dev Ji's portrait in their homes. Thus, it's illogical that they're not going to depict a Sikh wedding. What a huge blunder by the CVS! 😵

Another show called Bani - Ishq Da Kalma which airs at the same time as Veera, is based on Sikh Punjabi families too and yet they were able to portray a Sikh wedding, albeit not fully due to certain restrictions. So I don't get why the Veera CVS can't depict a Sikh wedding like this at least? 😕

Thats coz Sikh wedding can happen only in the daytime...whereas in the show RanJan are getting married in the evening!
So they cant show a proper Sikh wedding with all the rituals coz its prohibited!
Moreover they had the chuda-ceremony which a must!

But why are they getting married in the evening? I didn't catch that part in the show. What's the reasoning for that?

The CVS may not be able to show the full Sikh wedding but can't they show half of it like the CVS of Bani did? They worked around the restrictions which the Veera CVS could have done too.

Coz Balwant suffered an attack after that casting couch fiasco and wanted RanJan to get married the very same evening!
And since Sikhism allows proper daytime wedding with all the rituals so showing those sacred rituals being performed in a mandir instead of gurudwara that too on television can be considered as blasphemy!
So they didnt risk it!

I already saw that epi. Still, the CVS could have pushed the wedding to the next morning in order to show a Sikh wedding. 😵

^^ There was a thread abt this yesterday as well. A person had clarified that in few pinds people worship Goddess Durga as well.. So its okay if they get married in a temple..

CVs wanted to show urgency that is why the marriage was rushed.. Balwant was nt ready to go the hospital then how cud CVs delay the marriage ? 😳

I see. Anyway, I'm not looking forward to this wedding track at all. Gunjan is such an ungrateful brat. Poor Ranvi's going have to tolerate her tantrums. 😵

Hi I was one of the people who cleared matters in yesterday's posts. I agree that in Bani they have showed them sitting in a Gurdwara but they are doing Hindu rituals. The only Sikhi think they did was ardaas that to without the words of ardaas just showed them standing with their hands together. In a punjabi wedding you don't have ghat bandan the girls father gets one side of the boys dupatta and gives it to his daughter in her hand they didn't show that in Bani. Also the girl is not brought in by her mother she should have been brought in by her father. And finally they didn't show the chaar lava (4 phere) which isn't allowed to be shown anyway so I am happy that that wasn't shown. So technically this was not a punjabi wedding this was a Hindu wedding in a Gurdwara. They are not allowed to show a Sikh punjabi wedding on television due to rules of Sikhism. Sikh wedding are to be done between a real couple not a reel couple because we Sikhs believe a wedding is too pure and sacred to be shown just like that for fun on television. I hope this cleared everything. 😊
