I'd like to believe that Ranaji is not that big of a dur-brain that he'd be so ready to relinquish the throne to someone like Kunwar ji if he wasn't made aware of the plan by G and RM. He was just buying time for Gayatri to set BRM up by following the protocol, which is to create an illusion of leaving the place forever and appointing the next-in-line to the throne as the king. If he was truly devastated by the death, he would have likely but not in all probability, stepped down albeit for a temporary period of time to recoup himself and appointed RM in the interim as regent. It anyway doesn't matter if BRM manipulates her son to give up on the throne on the eve of the coronation day. All it needed for Gayatri to prove her point was to gain easy access into the premises of the mahal to gaslight BRM so that she blurts out the truth in its entirety. Her designation as a Queen doesn't matter. Ranaji's utter disgust at her power hungry double entendres spoke volumes about the extent to which he was taken in by her charms and how he loathed it! Ergo, when RM redirected Ranaji to the tamasha going on downstairs, it was as if to say "this is just the trailer, picture abhi baaki hai mera beta"😃
But then Kunwarji's volteface post BRM's confession to her crimes is interesting...I wonder how that will be dealt with by RM and co.

ps: They could have done all this without doing "pass the parcel" with the crown, with just G simply terrorizing BRM as a bhoot, but then this has the potential to beget more numbers and hence the illogical incorporation of drama.

Losing G is not something he was going to get over, like he did over Sulu.He was leaving Ameerkot, never to return this time.

Even if he hands over to RM, he has to come back after her time, as he is the legal heir after her.

RM& G- i think, they were planing to play bhoot-bhoot & gather evidence against BRM and changed their plan after RNJ's googly.

IMO, RNJ got pulled in to the plan after the funeral and if he was convinced of BRM's criminal intentions, from the ceremony it did seem he knew about her real face, he was just going along to get her confession & prosecute her.

About asking the dead wife to come back, seems like he says that in grief😆 He asked Sulu come bacck under impossible circumstances too.

@Bold: I hope that's not the case...it'll just make him irredeemable in my eyes. He's just totally unfit to be in any sort of management position.

I have a question.

BRM is the reigning Queen and she has the approval of the Brits, what authority does
RNj have to arrest & exile her?

Did RM invite everyone including Wilikie for a fake crowing party?

The mahaan FL had to dramatically waltz into court to prove her point...so they had to turn him into a bhagoda...but as he himself said, " aap ke pyaar mei humein zillat bhi manzoor hain!"

Moral of the story - Even a King doesn't stand a chance in the face of the FL's mahaanta!

P.S - He had just burnt her corpse with his own hands, Sim ...at least Sula's body had never been found...😆

@bold- for me they did it when they made him romance in the backdrop of the funeral of Bhansi, w.o sparing a thought to what was happening to his people & his kingdom.

@red- people say strange things in grief and the King is no exception😆

More than being unfit , he is uninterested in any position of power or responsibility.

Gayatri's actions are selfless- a mad devotion to him.
RNJ's is apologetic- proof driven as his nature is.

Soon after the dargah, RNJ was apologetic..about misunderstanding Gayatri...and his attraction to Gayatri started as a fascination for who she actually is. When Sulakshna came back, he still was in TWO minds...his duty was as important as his feelings for G. But they established it with no doubt that RNJ had settled for the only one woman in his life, even when Sulakshna came back.

Now post BRM khulaasa-

That hug RNJ gave BRM at the coronation was genuine and painful... despite the person she turned out to be...bu his sense of justice as a king prevails over every other sentiment..unlike it was when he thought he had lost Gayatri forever. I would like to think that scene of Swarna breaking down as she tries to tell him of G's death and the subsequent heart break of RNJ's was genuine. I am willing to write off everything else RNJ did in its aftermath as temporary INSANITY! 😆

But this roothna manaana spoiler...He is again apologetic...❤️...When will RNJ love Gayatri for who she is, instead of for what he did to her?

Perhaps he already has...he had that fb of her feeding the old lady in the dargah...that was him appreciating Gayatri, the person. 😳

On the whole, I feel RNJ's love story is still being written...very soon he is going to admire other things about Gayatri too...

When did he know she was still alive? I am guessing after he caught the little night party...RM must have told him after that?...And from then on, it was all an Act.

@bold

I would've been fine with that, Chick..but he seemed composed..not mad with grief...it felt like a well thought out decision...not temporary insanity 😕

She's come to mean more than anything else in the world to him, Chick...but his innate sense of justice will never allow him to award punishment to another based on her word alone...now, he wouldn't have believed G to be mad based on BRM's words..in fact BRM's pronouncement cut deep...but he is unable to completely discount the proof in front of him...her erratic behaviour, her claim that someone is dead when the said someone is standing right behind her and so on...and of course, her own admission that she harmed BRM to protect him...and that she would do it again...

He believed her crazy love for him had made her lose her balance post the bomb blast that was aimed at his life...!

If a man gave up what defined him as a person for the sake of my peace and sense of security, I might consider faking a dozen deaths to protect him, Chick 😆

Lol Sim...he was busy hugging G to his side, even if it was in a bid to protect her tender heart, while Bansi lay dying...

you gotta blame the dhoomketu for the funeral pyre thingy...it just chose the wrong moment to show up..and faced with irrefutable evidence that he was one half of an eternal pair, RNJ lost sight of the funeral and the people...😆

When the king loses his mind, would he rave like a mad man? Or withdraw into a shell, feeling all numb and shocked? The reaction could be either of these, na?😉

@bold

He did not seem that either...he seemed very sincere, Chick...like he genuinely believed that Kunwar Chacha would be a good option for Amerkot...he pleaded with him to favor their people...maybe that is the sign of insanity that we are looking for 😆

^^I think RNJ chose the lesser of two evils between Kunwar & Wilkie.😆
